hello everyone welcome to my Channel today I'm excited to show you the secrets of successfully raising fairy shrimp and how you can achieve the same level of success I've noticed many questions across various platforms about why some people struggle to raise fairy shrimp there are several key factors that can influence your success in raising fairy shrimp first let's dive into the world of fairy shrimp these ancient freshwater crustations belong to the order anasta and are known for their delicate appearance and graceful swimming they thrive in temporary bodies of water and it's crucial to recreate their natural environment when attempting to raise them another critical consideration is the species of fairy shrimp you're working with not all fairy shrimp species have the same requirements for growth for example the popular Thai fairy shrimp Fran canilla Thailand denes often used as fish food prefs warm water in the range of 70 to 80 de F making them suitable for indoor cultivation however species like those on the genus bran conecta and your braan capus thriving cooler Waters now let's talk about setting up your tank I typically use containers that can hold 1 to three gallons of water while it's possible to use smaller containers they may not support the complete development of your fairy shrimp generally for every gallon of water you can expect to cultivate an average of 8 to 10 fairy shrimp the size of your tank will determine how many you can raise selecting the right location for your container is essential placing it in a Sunny Spot near a window is ideal because sunlight encourages algae growth providing additional food for your fairy shom if a Sunny Spot isn't available artificial lighting like grow lights can be suitable now when it comes to water and substrate many online recommendations suggest using distilled or reverse osmosis water which closely resembles rain water this type of water is low and dissolve solids making it ideal for hatching however some people notice their shrimp die a few days later they often Overlook a crucial element which is substrate when using distilled water you must include substrate over time essential minerals will leech out of the substrate providing the necessary nutrients for your shrimp's development normal drinking water can also work well for raising fairy shrimp although it may not result in as high hatching rates for cost Effectiveness some enthusiasts like me use tap water just ensure that the chlorine dissipates before adding any shrimp EGS however keep in mind that top water quality can vary so it might not be the best choice for everyone for substrate I use a mixture of Peete ra sand granite Limestone and a pinch of dry yeast this combination has proven effective for me but similar mixtures can also work I generally put a cup of the substrate per gallon of water once you prepared your container you need to create osoria for the baby shrimp to feed on the dry use you've added will help feed these microorganisms I also add a dash of powder fish flakes to the tank then add the water and substr waiting about 24 hours before adding the eggs when adding the eggs remember that a little goes a long way adding a small amount of eggs ensures you don't overcrowd your container and provides a backup in case hatching fails it may take 1 to 3 days before they hatch but during this time the infosu populations multiply serving as food for the baby fairy shrimp during their initial days now let's Su about fairy shrimp food these creatures are filter feeders collecting food from the water column thus it is crucial to ensure a constant supply of food in the water while some people use spirulina or dry yeast I found that tropical fish flakes grounded into a powder form works really well this food nurses the microorganisms in the tank which in turn become a food source for the fairy shrimp a small amount every 3 days is sufficient allowing it to become hazy and then clear again before the next feeding balancing your feeding regimen is crucial overfeeding in any form can lead to an ammonia Spike or poor water quality ultimately harming your fair shrimp after this you're well on your way with consistent feeding your fair shrimp will reach maturity in just about 2 to 3 weeks they typically live for 2 to 3 months under optimal comp conditions though some species can live longer during this time you may encounter challenges such as the growth of string algae which can pose a threat as some species of fer shrimp can become entangled additionally water levels May drop due to evaporation requiring you to add water gradually to maintain the original water level be cautious not to add excessive amounts especially suddenly as fairy shrimps are highly sensitive to changes in the water balance which can lead to their fatality I hope this guide has been useful and I wish you success in raising your fair ship if you found this video helpful or informative don't
