How to Get a File Manager on Quest 2 [QUEST ONLY] (*Updated*)

what's up guys it's me Vlad and today I'm going to show you guys how to install any file manager on Quest 2 without any PC any phone any laptop any of that we're going to be using only our Quest 2 I'm not going to be downloading anything from my PC or my phone you know I'm saying it's going to be straight on the Quest 2 and this is going to be a complete tutorial for all of the file managers today we're going to download actually CX file explorer we're going to download a maze and we're going to download SF file explorer and I'm going to walk you through you guys through the process and try to explain everything to my best ability and previously I've actually done a video about how to get like any file manager on your quest 2 but that involved side quest which is actually not going to be involved whatsoever in this video we're going to be doing it once again on our Quest 2 and I don't want to watch your guys's time you will want to waste my time so let's start so first things first you want to open up your mataquest browser on your quest too just so we can download actually our file managers like our preferred one then we're going to go ahead go on YouTube and actually find my channel it's um if you don't know what the channel is called it's called it's what its Vlad okay let's see YouTube let the YouTube load it's land bam spam spams this is what you look up then we click the blue arrow now we go on to my channel uh if you want you can go on the latest video doesn't really matter uh for example I'm going to go on the fall update video If you haven't seen it I talked about the release date of The Fall update and gorilla attack so you can check it out if you want if you want to support me you know what I'm saying uh you can hit the like down below in the actually watch that but what we're going to do is go under the video click on my dashboard and just go into my Discord so this is going to give you guys an invite to my Discord we all have over 270 Discord account uh you can create one you can type in your very much like email use your name and a password it's completely easy you know it's very easy and if you have a Discord account there's saying so yeah now once we're in my Discord what you're going to want to do you can see there are a lot of channels but don't let the overwhelm you because what you have to do is just scroll down uh until you see the actual VR section over here so over here we have a few tabs I highly recommend checking out cluster throws like at one time someday you know what I'm saying because if you ever need like sales for Quest 2 games you can find a ton of sales here there are probably sales for every game on Quest 2 that you can find personally I have to like 10 bucks all of the sales are 25 off you can see even for beat saber every game Ghost of Tabor whatever if you ever are planning on buying some games I tend to recommend to actual search for some games here in case you need them but this isn't part of our tutorial what is a part of our tutorial is just going to our file manager section over here so we just go to our file manager section this is the old tutorial um but what we're going to you want to do is still go up over here and you can see we have pretty much three Olympics we have a maze we have CX file explorer and we have the ES File Explorer so what we're going to want to do if you're downloading a maze I'm actually going to download all three of file managers personally uh I uh use either CX File Explorer or Amaze depending on what action I want to take so let's download those so we're going to click on this link if you want to download the Amaze File Explorer then you're going to want to scroll down and click on this app like dot APK pretty much just click on this and it's going to start the download so it's going to start the download I have notifications turned off but you're going to see that there's going to be a download that has started it's eight megabytes so it's really small this official GitHub from you know Amaze so you don't have to worry about anything well if you want CX file explorer though you click on this link over here uh and that's a bit different you have to actually go over here uh you have to go ahead and click download APK so it may not download it the first time you might have to click again just download APK close this out and I'm pretty sure it should start and download now or you can just download it again doesn't matter okay now once you downloaded your APK I'm not going to download the es that's like a um extra like if the two thousand don't work for you guys for example for whatever task you need you can use this one but I'm going to use like just amazing CX file explorer so uh just to give you guys a perspective I already had actual uh CX and the Maze so I'm going to delete them right now I kind of forgot to delete them before the video so I'm just going to show to you guys that for example I don't have these phone numbers because I deleted them right away on my quest 2. so now what you're going to want to do is you actually want to open up your quest to store over here I have the 25 off referral I previously used for actually job simulator uh let me exit out of here okay so now once we're in the store what you're going to want to do is search up for mobile VR station and don't worry we're not going to actually be using mobile VR station for like the download of mods for example because you cannot do that for gorilla attack or some other game we're going to use it to actually install those file explorers because there's a certain glitch that you can use to actually install any APK using mobile VR station so we're going to use and just look up mobile VR station over here look it up times click on it now you go ahead click on this uh click view in store then click ok then you want to pretty much um just download it you're gonna purchase it it's completely free so you download it right away it's like 170 megabytes I just downloaded it so you guys won't have to like just wait until I download it so you know this is much faster for you guys okay now we open up mobile VR station if you want you can pause the video um you know make sure to press the like so you don't forget about the video later on you can find it in your like videos okay now we open up mobile VR station uh by the way guys if you want you can subscribe you know I'd highly appreciate it we're on our road to Hana K so if you want to subscribe you can I upload like daily grow tag videos VR news Fair tutorials so make sure to subscribe if you want you don't have to man I would highly appreciate it though okay so now once we're in Mobile VR station before you open up it may ask you actually to allow it permissions so just allowed permissions to files that so it can browse files on your quest too and so we can get to those file managers okay so now once we're in here you may see that at the top we have local files if you don't have it at the top just click on this over here and go to local files okay now we go to all folders then we go to Android uh okay then we go to data once we're in Android over here you might see we have this actual name over here scope storage actions we click on that okay guys once you're at this step what you're going to want to do is click on step one request access this is important we have to click on this I'll click on the blue arrow over here what you're going to want to do is go to Quest 2. then you're going to want to actually go to download and over here you're going to see your apks for example I have the app slash Android or F Droid the slash release that's the maze I'm going to download Amaze in this case um because my uh CX file explorer is going to download for whatever reason I just turned off my notifications because they get annoying when you're recording videos and whatnot um so I couldn't really see if I download CX file explorer but if you have CX file explorer this tape the steps are completely the same so what we're gonna do is click on these four arrows and if you see the screen uh you might not see the screen you might see just a box with like um some letters and it's gonna say like continue you press on continue and you just skip through this part of the video but if you're stuck on this error what you're going to want to do is actually close out of this actually um box so click on this then you're going to press on your Oculus button press on close over here go back to your TAP one request access go to our downloads folder once again so you're gonna see we have the app slash F Droid release we click on the four arrows once again and now it says that's pretty much this is box so if you skip to this part you have the screen nice okay now what you're going to want to do is click on continue then click on install and you can see we're installing a maze file explorer uh and I'm going to show to you guys that it works so you can see app installed we can click done and we can actually exit out of here we can exit out of here we can exit out of our mobile view station is okay it's not suitable for a lot of tasks that's where we're downloading like actually Amaze which is like a suitable file manager for um pretty much every task you can do on your quest 2 or you can download CX file explorer depending on your choice but if you're wondering how do I get to my CX file explorer it's not here so what you're going to want to do is click on search apps now you're going to want to click on this section over here all click on unknown sources and over here you're going to see a maze it should be at the top we just click on it but and it opens up now it might ask you to give it permission so we just allow you can see Grant this is so it gets actual permissions uh for the actual files and whatnot so you can install APK so you can do pretty much anything transfer files so we allow access to all files so we click on this then we go back over here and you can see that we have our file manager you can see we have for all of our stuff over here the CX file explorer is pretty much the same thing you just download the CX file explorer instead of a maze you can download both of these by the way if you want now I'm saying I just downloaded the Amaze because it was faster for me um because for some reason CX file explorer just didn't want to install I just probably have to click on the download once more but it's whatever so I want to keep this video short so everyone who research to find to you guys and show to you guys how to actually do this and with the Amaze that we have or with pretty much any file manager that you got you can continue the steps for example for like getting roll tag mods for example for like installing side quests or anything like that I had an actual separate video on how to install sidequest without any PC or anything like that you can watch that if you want to install flag Quest on your phone or like not phone plug like on your quest 2 without like any PC any phone anything like that so I used mobile VR station there too so you can
