How to Get 2 Channels of Audio into your DSLR or Phone: COMICA AD3 XLR Interface (Best iPhone Mixer)

what's up film jammers today we're checking out this neat little audio device the comical links Lex 83 right it's gonna let you get two XLR inputs into your DSLR or mirrorless app camera through an eighth inch jack alright what you say we do a little sound check check check check check check check what are we checking sound check check check check feel much so without shooting it I don't have my full-size Cameron package I'm bringing say this DSLR camera you've only got that mini eighth inch jack so what this little bad boy lets you do is get two XLR inputs into the camera separate channels you've got separate audio still were recording me into this mic we're recording Jillian into that mic so we can separately mix us and we're being recorded into the Canon EOS alright now Sam you can see it here me mixing her in real time good so the fact that he is mixing me means that I'm about to wrap oh no don't wrap it so she's back up so you've also got 48v phantom power built into the device it is powered by a 9-volt battery you've got this really nice belt clip you can attach it on if you want to just kind of have it on your hip I could see you wearing it as maybe an accessory poor shirt I'm filming that video or we're here at the club that Tim who doesn't like having two XLR cords hanging off them while they're dancing it could be a fun time you do realize we're gonna film b-roll of you doing that so and it's gonna happen right now [Music] so when I'm out in the field and I don't have my full-size video camera with me sometimes I'm filming on the EOS r which is this Canon mirrorless here you're only getting an eighth inch Jack and you can only really hook up one audio device at a time so what this little guy lets you do is hook up to xlrs or two quarter-inch or you can go to eighth inch so you've got the flexibility to put a lot of different audio devices into it and then you can mix it directly on the device here fed into the EOS R here so give me a little something I'm gonna mix you okay have you ever heard the story of the three little pigs I just turned her way down I'm still up for the squirrels and she's let's talk about the squirrels back up have you ever seen the picture here me I'm gonna throw myself down smelling a flower I mean myself down the yellow she's still up there smells like pumpkin mixing in real-time there we go so one thing that's also pretty cool about this is you can use it to record music yeah so you could plug in actually a quarter inch which will let you plug in a guitar for example right into the device and then you can also say plug in a microphone so we want to demonstrate you could actually record some music into this device so again we're going right into the US are mixing it through the Komaki boom right there okay here we go [Music] Paul they will tell me - they wanna tell me what said she's a friend of mine to give take it [Music] we're mixing and make it look at all the stuff you could do people why are you sitting there watching this YouTube video go out buy a comic ax make some music make some ASRM s more and some more yeah yeah people love ASMR it's true I think you could almost create your own little home ASMR studio with this guy I like that idea that's right okay welcome to film jams are you jammed the film's together to make this video I'm gonna say a bunch of words that begin with the letter P Bobcat bottle brave ping-pong soul blimey that was our heads of our session yes thanks for watching thanks for joining us so with this setup you can record for example someone drinking or different types of Foley like that I think there's a lot of different uses for the device it's very mobile and you don't need a full-size audio rig you can literally take this a couple XLR cords or mirrorless camera and you're out recording it's like a little mobile recording studio you could take it out in nature they record some animal sounds sound design for a movie yeah but what I really like about this is that you can use it on your mobile phone - you actually have a switch on the side here you can choose between phone or camera so that makes it pretty versatile if you wanna take your iPhone out you can also get some really nice high quality audio people are filming movies on iPhones now yeah I need good sound so if you have one of these you can get 2x or ends to your iPhone which is pretty sweet right now I've got a quarter inch instrument cable plugged into the guitar and then it's going into the device then I'm going from there into my iPhone and what we're gonna do is record directly i'm completely wireless right now there's no wires attached to the camera i'm only attached to the iphone the guitar is going directly in there through the device so we're just gonna do the guitar but you could actually record audio as well in the other XLR but simultaneously i have the voice memos recording app i'm gonna start recording right now you can see the levels of being recorded right there now I think it's time for a real good old-fashioned deal game [Music] okay so we just got that little ditty recorded right in the phone here I'm gonna hit stop and we're gonna play it back okay so it recorded into the phone basically have a wireless setup for recording with this little comic ax you go right into your phone you can have a vocal and record yourself multi-channel it's pretty cool you can't do that on your normal old audio device now can you know so what are your thoughts with the comic only 23 overall I'm pretty impressed you can do a lot of it I agree you can do audio recordings for say an interview you can do music with it you could do a SRM yeah someone right yeah it's reasonably priced you know I'm a college student so I don't have a lot of that extra cash but this is definitely something that I would invest in yeah if you need to excellent armpits and you're trying to shoot on a mirrorless or a DSLR or even your iPhone I think it's a great option for people and filmmakers you can get the comic 83 on amazon.com right now links below yeah they're about 120 bucks so again if you're looking for an audio device you don't have one it's a great entry-level option you know it's what all da ba ba ba ba ba are in my belly um actually I think that was the tacos I ate earlier yeah let us know what you think in the comments down below don't forget to Like and subscribe and we'll see you next week and we're turning you off wait I turn myself off hello sure well that's what you get [Music] soundcheck buying seal I don't know pants come back alright this might be the weirdest episode ever you got to give the people what they want she didn't require anything
