today I'm sharing how I usually Frost my cake I'm showing it step by step it's going to be a very simple video so let's get started today I'm using this chocolate cake which I shared how to make it last week so please check it out if you haven't yet now let's walk on the crumb coat place the cake on a very center that way you can Frost much easier and if your cake is not even or it's not completely flat cut the soft face and drop a big scoop of frosting and using a spatra make it flat don't move your spatula at all but instead move your turning table like this and when you can see that the surface is nice and flat slowly Fade Out and we're going to repeat the same thing for the second layer and the reason why I like to use cold cake is because with the cold cake as I finish up the crumb coat the frosting starts getting hot in so it does not move around as much if it's not on the very center the kick is going to look like it's leaning a little bit check 360 degree and make sure that your cake is on the very center so now again drop a big scoop and cover the surface and since this is a crumb coat you don't have to make it too thick using the extra buttercream I frost the side and Adam a buttercream to fill all the gaps [Music] clean up the buttercream on the table and Smooths out the frosting on top angle your spatula a little bit like this and slowly slide in I always imagine airplane landing on the ground when I do this it's like very similar motion and again since this is not the final cold you don't have to make it look perfect you can practice here [Music] today I was in a little bit of blush so I actually did not chill the cake and finish the final coat right after but if you have time I definitely recommend chilling the cake so that the frosting is gonna set completely it's gonna be a lot easier to finish up now add big scoop of frosting and smooth out the surface just like how we did with the crumb coat and when you do that intentionally spread the buttercream over the edge like this [Music] next we're going to work on the side so using the extra buttercream cover it aside and if you need to add more buttercream at this point the goal is not to smooth out the surface yet the goal here is cover the frosting evenly all around the side so touch the side with the spot drop and feel how thick it is and add more buttercream if you need to and I'm adding more buttercream on top at the corner like this this is going to help to create very sharp corner [Music] next we are going to smooth it out I like to use solid dough scraper like this some people like to use spatras use whichever you are comfortable with angle just enough to see how much frosting you are scraping off I set the dough scraper around four o'clock position and once you set it please don't move the dot scraper your hand or arm at all I'm just going to move the Turning table and that way you can create smooth surface easier having a good turning table makes this process a lot easier [Music] and here you can see some holes here and there so feel the gaps and repeat the process until you are happy with the look if you are beginner this might take some time and that's totally fine this is the probably the hottest part so if you cannot perfect with the day one or day two or even a month that's totally normal so take your time practice and you're gonna get better each time and just like how we did with the crumb coat using a spatra create a sharp corners and go a little bit and slowly fade in foreign [Music] scrape off the buttercream on a turning table and add extra buttercream on top and smooth out the surface like this and pipe buttercream on top today I used French star tip this is the one I got in Japan but I looked online and this looks very similar to these star tips which I think is much easier to get in most countries so you can pipe as you like try a different piping technique I actually share the video where I shared so many ways to pipe with star tips if you're interested check out this video later foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] s today with fruits my role of thumb is to place bigger fruits first and add smaller fruits later and oftentimes I like to create volumes with fruits let me know if you like these types of very simple tutorials as well and to make this video a little bit more useful if you have a cushions about frosting or about cake decorating drop on the comment section below and I'll try to answer as many as possible and like I said earlier you can check the frosting and chocolate cake recipe from here in these videos check that out if you haven't yet but today I just shared my way that I'm very used to so my advice to you is learn from many people most importantly on YouTube try many ways and see which ways you feel most comfortable with okay that's it for today thank you so much for watching enjoy pastry a little bit and I'll see you next week bye foreign
