what's up everyone today I'm going to be showing you the best ways to fix those annoying stutters and rust if you're watching this video you're probably here for two reasons one you recently just got rust and want to figure out why the game runs terribly or two you've had rust for a while and recently have encountered those annoying stutters that ruin every gunfight and freeze the second you shoot I'll put time stamps for each tip individually in the description so you can see it in the chapters but I recommend doing all of them because they all help it can help narrow down your problem if you do all of them if any of these tips help you at any point feel free to please drop a like or sub as it really helps me thank you the first thing I'm going to be covering to fix the Setters is probably the most effective it's basically a system scan that makes sure your windows are running properly I usually do this once every couple weeks or so just to make sure everything is running correctly the first step go down here to the search bar type CMD and then go over here click run as administrator and click yes yes and then this will pop up type sfc space SL scan now with no space and press enter and then it'll start scanning after you let that run it'll either say windows resource protection did not find any Integrity violations which is good or it'll say it found some corrupt files either way it's good because if it finds corrupt files it'll usually fix them itself and if it says it can't fix them then you have another problem on your hands and should look more in-depth into that this next one is slightly harder but everyone should definitely do this one it's very important basically what I'm going to show you is how to put your rust in high priority mode basically so it has more priority over other applications to run properly so it can get more FPS and better performance go down to your search bar type run open it Type R GRE edit r g e d i t Okay and then me undo this real quick you're going to go H key local machine drop down arrow then down to software click that drop down arrow scroll down to Microsoft click that drop down arrow and go all the way down it's pretty far down Windows NT drop down Windows NT drop down current version scroll down image file execution options click that then what you're going to want to do rightclick image file execution options click new key and you want to name it rust client.exe capital r capital c.ex you have to name it exactly otherwise it won't work then you rightclick rust client.exe click new and add another one to R client.exe called perf options capital p e RF capital o p t i o NS enter that then right click perf options click new dword 32bit you want to right click the new one you just added rename type c Capital CPU prior class exactly like this I'll put it down in the description so you guys know exactly how to spell it if you can't see this the next step is double click on CPU priority class make sure the base is heximal and change value data to three what this will do is it will put your game in high priority mode so rust will get priority over other applications you have open and get the most resources to run properly after this you're done all you have to do is make sure you did everything correctly make sure sure the the rust client and proof options are spelled correctly and same with the CPU priority class close it and you're done the third thing that you should do is adding some startup settings these basically tell your game to run a certain way first step open Steam and go to library and go to the settings wheel on the far right click it click properties and under General it'll say launch options uh we'll copy and paste this put it in the description just copy and past paste and put it in and after you put that in just close it out and launch your game and you're done some more general settings that'll help your game run better are make sure that you have your rust on an SSD because if you have it on a hard drive it'll load very slow and it won't run as fast and as good as if it's on SSD also a very important one make sure if you're playing rust optimally you want to have it on a separate driver's windows but if you only have one one drive drive it's all right but if you have it on two separate drives it'll ensure that one Windows doesn't have as many issues being corrupted and two your SSD won't get maxed out trying to run rust and windows at the same time so in turn you'll get better fps and less stutters another thing is and this one's more directed towards new players if you have really high graphic settings you're not going to get very good FPS and your game will probably run worse than if you had PVP and FPS geared Graphics so I'm going to go through my settings that I use and I I have like a mid mid-end PC I don't have like the crazy PCS that other people have I just have an average priced PC that runs rust all right it's not crazy it's not great these is what I use Graphics quality Ultra the graphics quality really doesn't have a a ton of effect on your game but but if you want to lower it it'll just make your game look slightly shittier it won't change the FPS very much render scale 1.0 Nvidia d dlss off Shadow quality one Shadow Cascades two Cascades Max Shadow Lights zero water quality 1 water Reflections zero Shader level 200 draw distance I cycle this one depending on what I'm playing if I'm on like a a small map server that gets good FPS or like a fresh wipe I usually have it maxed out but if I'm on a monthly server that has low FPS in general or if my my game's just not running well I'll just lower it to as low as it can go this basically tells your game how far to render things and the lower you have it obviously it's not going to impact performance a ton but it'll help Shadow distance 50 so as low as it can go anistropic filtering one Parx mapping zero Global rendering off this doesn't do anything yet they it's still at work in progress face punch is working on it so that's doesn't matter grass displacement on grass Shadows off Nvidia reflex mode on plus boost and it doesn't really matter particle quality zero everything on here is basically as low as it can go except for object quality I have this at around 3040 for one reason because I mean I like having my object quality low but uh the fences when you have your object quality at zero the fences um they just don't render so you just see like the outlines of the fence is not the grading so if you have it at zero you won't even be able to see where there's little holes you can Crouch through are so if you put it at 40 they'll be able to render when you're close but from far you can see straight through them so it's really good image effects I have everything off except for sharpen sharpen is always a nice one to have on just makes your game look nicer experimental everything off optimize loading on partial and GC buffer at 4,096 I'm confident that these tips will help you see an improvement in your game performance and FPS but the best Improvement is always upgrading your Hardware the two main things you want to upgrade for rust is increase the amount of ram you have and upgrade your CPU to an x3d because those just work so much better than Intel and any other CPU for some reason on Rust they'll triple your FPS so yeah upgrade RAM and CPU first
