HOW TO fix Root Certificate Issue on Mac which expired on Sept 30th 2021

[Music] hey guys and welcome to my channel again so this time i'm back with another how to video which i faced recently especially if you're a mac user and this is something of a problem solving video and i hope this helps you if you are here for the first time i sincerely request you to please subscribe to my channel hit the subscribe button right there and you will see more such helpful and informative videos in the days to come the the problem that i'm talking here is there was a there was an issue that happened on september 30th this year and a lot of websites you might have noticed stop working on a mac so if you try to go for wikipedia i mean you can see it says you know the site is not secure and the certificate is not valid and you might see you know this type of um you know notification here and it says the certificate is not valid and expired in expired route and a lot of other places you might see the same thing and i was actually you know facing the same issue so i actually kind of did my research i looked into like a lot of articles a couple of videos and i i wanted to put it out there so that you know my friends you guys can also take care of this issue and fix it from your side so what i noticed was so this is the the diagram of you know how the certificates are set up in terms of you know a mac and uh what happened on september 30th was this dst root ca x3 is something that expired and for this to get enabled again you need to download a thing from your side so that you can have you know these websites you know working as it was before this date so i actually wanted to put it out i found this i found this link where i saw you know there's a super useful diagram on how these things work and you you are more than free to you know read it and understand it and this is just an internet security issue that happened and this isrg root x1 is something that we need so go to this website try to download this pem pem get the root downloaded and let's follow the steps so you try to open that add this and you'll have to give your admin password once you do that you need to go again to this keychain and see if this is already set up so what you need to do here is open this up and it'll show this x here since you got this here and it says it's not trusted yet and then once you say go and always trust and save that again with your admin password this certificate is marked trusted for all users and good to go and let's see if we can boom problem solved so i hope this video is helpful um um and you guys found this useful so thank you so much thank you so much for watching this if you like this video please drop in a comment please like this video please share it with your friends who are facing this and definitely definitely comment your thoughts and don't forget to hit the subscribe button so i will see you in my next video whether it's my travel video or my passport help or anything related to travel or immigration stay tuned subscribe like share and thank you for sharing the love take care have a nice day
