in this video we are going to show the solution if phpmyadmin cannot connect to the server when using phpmyadmin this is the most common issue people usually face in this case you get an error message saying cannot connect invalid settings so whenever you see these error messages simply follow the steps that we're going to mention next first open the xampp control panel and click on the apache config button here you need to select the phpmyadmin config.inc.php option after that this will open the file in your default editor in this file find the line saying bind to the localhost ipv4 address and tcp just below this line you will see the host is in numeric format by default you need to change it to localhost colon your port number now let's see where you can find the port number for this again let's go to the xampp control panel and click on the config button at the top right corner this will open the configuration of the control panel and here click on the service and port settings options in the next service settings window go to the my sql tab here you'll be able to see your port number copy the port number from here and paste it right next to the local host once finished make sure to save the file go back to the phpmyadmin window and refresh the page now your server is connected to the phpmyadmin
