How to fix loose wall plugs okay here I'm drilling a quarter inch hole which is perfect for my wall plug now I'm deliberately opening the hole and making it too big now as you can see the hole is way too big and the wall plug floppy and we'll just spin if I try to insert a screw into it so here comes a trick you're gonna have to grab yourself a piece of old flexible cable in this case I've got some two core and it needs to be multi strand copper cable you can't use solid core copper cable you need to pack out the hole using the flexible copper cable with it's sheathing use as many as you need to pack out the hole if you've got a bigger gap just use thicker caliber cable hit the wall plug home clip off the excess cable to have even more grip you can thread some cable through your fixture in my case a wooden batten down into the wall plug this trick is also handy if you have an undersized screw trim off the excess again and you're done the wooden batten is super tight and won't budge my last recommendation is that you use harpoon style wall plugs as they give a better grip when the hole is slightly oversized I've also tried to use the fischer style wall plugs but found they weren't as good the video was useful please consider giving it a like or subscribing to the channel thanks
