do you experience significant packet loss or a high ping in valerant which prevents you from ranking up today we will go over how to fix your computer step by step so you can finally get rid of those annoying ping spikes and lags make sure you watch the video till the end since each step is crucial to fix your high ping issues plus I also hit rant gift card codes in this video so good luck finding them if you want to get weekly valorant guides make sure to subscribe and now let's get straight into it all right so before we apply any changes to our computer we're going to make sure that you can always go back if any issues occur and for this we create a system restore point you can do this by by searching down below here for create restore point type this in create restore point there we go and once you're in the system properties at the system protection tab we're just going to click on the create button right there and now we can call this whatever we want and now the restart point was created successfully so we can go ahead and start with adjusting our PC all right so now that we've created the system restart point we can go ahead and start with the first adjustment and for this we click on Windows R and you will see this down below here and in this we're going to type in gpedit.msc we're going to hit enter and now you should be in the local Group Policy editor and what we're going to do now is we're going to disable all windows background apps for all users and you can do this by going to the computer configuration this is this tab administrative templates Windows components second last option and in this we're going to click on app privacy and once you're here we're going to go scroll down all the way to we see let Windows apps run in the background going to double click on this and set this to disabled once you've done this make sure to hit apply to save these changes and then you can hit the okay button the next thing we're going to do is we're going to disable the hardware acceleration in our browser so this is basically for each browser the same if you're using Chrome like I do or in general it's also the same for Edge or par GX and stuff like that going to enter the settings of your browser and in this there's also almost in each browser a search settings in which we can enter Hardware acceleration and we just want to make sure that the used Hardware acceleration when available is turned off as long as the continue background apps during Google Chrome is is closed just make sure to disable both of them once you've done that we can continue by adjusting your firewall and allowing an app and you can do this by searching for allow an app and it should already recommend you to allow an app through your Windows Firewall we're going to click on this now you should see this window allowed app but this will just making sure that it doesn't interfere with any request of the game and caes issue while you're playing so we're going to go ahead and click on allow another app and now we want to browse for this app and we just have to locate where our right client service is installed and for this I just go to my C drive this custom I don't know where you installed your right client services in most cases it's right on your drive right games right client and there we can see the right client services. executable file double click on this or click the open Button now we add this and now you allowed the other app and we can click okay again the next thing we're going to do is we're going to disable the Windows update services and we can do this by pressing Windows R again and entering services.msc again we're going to hit enter and you should see this services manager select any of the service and press the W key on your keyboard so we're going to go down to we see all these windows services and what we're searching for is the Windows update service as you can see right there currently it's running for me and if we double click on this you can also see that the startup type is currently manual and what we're going to do now is we're going to stop this service and set the startup type to disabled I don't want Windows to update anything related to their services I just want to play valin with the best ping possible so we're just going to stop this service and now it's stopping it and we also set this to disable make sure to apply these changes and by the way this doesn't prevent you from manually installing updates on your PC the next thing we're going to adjust are your DNS settings and for this we're just going to click on the Windows button and search for a CMD to open up a command prompt and what we're going to do in this command prompt now is we're going to Ping the cloud flare and the Google DNS server and check your certain ping to get the best possible DNS server so first we're going to Ping 8.8.8.8 this is the Google DNS server so we're just going to check this as I said it's custom for each user so just make make sure you ping this and after got we get the Ping statistics and a lot of data and the only important data now is the average millisecond time this is your average ping and this is actually for me 3 milliseconds as I said this is going to vary from users so make sure you keep this in mind and the next thing is we're going to Ping the cloud flare DNS server and this is Ping 1.11.1 just one four times hit enter going to get the replies again and here we can see the average is actually better for cloud flare once you found out which the s server either the Google or the cloud FL DNS server is better for you you're going to keep this in mind we going to go ahead press the Windows button and search for network and it's going to show you the view network connections option and we're going to click on this so you should be in the network connections overview and in this we're going to select our EET cable right click on this go to properties double click on Internet Protocol version 4 TCP ipv4 and what we're going to change now is we're going to use the following DNS server addresses and now we're going to enter our DNS server which was better so in my my case there was only one millisecond difference but I still want to use the better one so I'm going to go ahead with the cloud flare one so we enter 1. 1.1.1 and down below we're going to enter 1.0.0 do1 so if Cloud flare was better for you we're going to enter these prefer DNS servers if Google was better obviously you enter 88.8 and your alternate DNS server would be 8.8.4.4 so just make sure to choose your preferred DNS server addresses so I've shown them right there so now that we also adjusted our DNS settings we can check our network adapter driver for this we can go to the device manager just search for it again and once you're here we're going to search for our for our network adapters as you can see right here and in most cases like in 90% of the cases it's going to show GRE tech gaming or something you're going to right click on this and go to properties as you can see right here in the driver tab my driver date is actually from 20121 which is pretty pretty old just make sure that you hit the update driver and search automatically for the newest driver and in my case this is actually the best driver for my device just make sure you're going to check this while you're already in this properties tab make sure to check your power management so make sure this is turned off and in the advanced tab we're also going to check some settings so we want to make sure that once you scroll down the Wake On magic packet and wake on pattern mag both are disabled I want to show you this little tool it's called TCP Optimizer most of you are probably going to know this already but if you don't know this you can head over to the speedguide Donnet website I'm going link this down below in the description and you can basically download this here for completely free clicking on this and you're going to get this executable file so you just open this up and it should show you this make sure to run it as administrator by the way and once you're in here we want to make sure that the connection speed is actually set to 100 plus megabytes per second so just make sure that you set this to the connection speed and once you've done this we can already continue by going to the advanced settings I want you to set this to custom since we're going to modify this so just make sure to copy my settings or do the same as I do so the max connections per server should be set to 10 the max so we just make sure that both values are here 10 the local priority should be set to four the host priority should be set to five the NS priority to six and we could have known that the net bet priority should be set to seven in the R transmission tab we're going to set the max SN retransmissions to two the nonc RT resilence should be set to disabled the retransmit timeout so the RTO the initial RTO should be set to 2,000 the minimum RTO should be set to 300 non-best effort limit should be set to zero we want the do not use nla to Optimal so the gaming triak Network throttling index tab is really important we just want to make sure that the network throttling index is disabled and the system responsiveness should be set to gaming again at the second gaming triak tab we want to make sure that the TCP act frequency is set to disable it the TCP no delay should be enabled and the TCP deltics should be disabled as well now the network memory allocation we want to make sure that the large system cache is set to default so zero and the size value should be default one now the last thing we have to do here is the dynamic pod allocation and and we want to set the max user pod value to 65534 and the last value we have to enter is the TCP time we delay and this should be 32 once you've done this we can apply these changes and we just need to hit okay we can go ahead launch valant and I'm going to show you the last settings you got to do to fix your ping issues in valant so now that my game has been launched we can go on the settings tab in the top right corner settings and once you're in this menu can go on General tab scroll down till we see the network buffering setting and if you hover Above This it basically explains you earlier what it does but basically you select your setting depending on your internet so if you it really bad we want to make sure to set this to the maximum and if you only experience legs or spikes sometimes set this to moderate so my case this is going to stay on minimum but as I said you're going to choose and you can potentially also play around with the setting just make sure that you select it depending on your internet that's basically it that's how you improve your PC and finally fix your leg spikes or high ping and valerant in 2024 I hope this helped a lot of you make sure to subscribe turn on post notifications to never miss a weekly valorant guide otherwise I wish everybody a great day and I'm going see you in the next one
