you want to sell on take a lot but how do you choose the right products I'm going to take you through two of the biggest or two of the most common options that you have right and at the end of it I'll share which one is my favorite which one I prefer to do but very simple the two main ways number one is using Google analytics and Trends to kind of find products and to find the right time to sell them the second one which I'll cover later is my favorite but let's get into the first one the first one Google analytics who is this for to me this makes the most sense for someone whose sole purpose is to try find products that are going to sell and take a lot no matter the category or the type I would probably go this way this is way easier than you think I promise you um Google analytics and Google Trends is a free tool for you to use so all that you're going to do is you're going to go to trends. google.com and it's going to bring you to this page over here all right now obviously unless you're using a VPN it will bring you to already say South Africa otherwise you can just go over here and you can kind of change uh what location you're in for the purpose of this video selling on take a lot let's keep that at South Africa the next thing you can see here there's a home an explore and a trending now if you go to trending now it's more going to be topics that people are currently searching for so you can kind of have a look at this but we want to be at the section here the explore and this is where you're going to be using Search terms that you type in so let's say you have an idea of a couple products or you just want to search something that you've been looking at you can kind of see how many people have been searching for this topic on Google and a lot of this is going to be seasonal so we want to look out for spikes anything that can help us reduce our risk for example if we're heading into spring and Peak summer year in in Cape Town where it's going to be hot I'm probably not going to be wanting to sell umbrellas on take a lot right that stock is going to be sitting and it's probably not going to be selling as fast as I want so let's actually use that as as a a random example so let's type in umbrella we search umbrella and over here you just want to make sure you want to keep this to web search your other options are image Etc but we just want to we want the most overall research I would keep this on all categories as well just so that again you have the most accurate reading in the data and this sometimes when you log on it will say past day all right and obviously that's not going to be enough information so the two options that you want is the past 12 months so the last year of information how many times people have searched and then look at the last 5 years as well so let's start here with the past 12 months in South Africa so we can see that it's actually been pretty standed throughout the year there was definitely a peak here in November the 5th and this is the last year if you look at the bottom that's obviously June to June so it's the last 12 months not January to December so that's important to remember as well I was I'm actually a little bit stumped now and this is again perfect why you search this this had its peak in December so there were more people searching for umbrella in December and Peak summertime than over year in Winter and you can definitely see as we head into to autumn and winter over year it does have two more Peaks that is obviously a bit higher than this average right but funny enough a lot of people were searching for it in summer so again this is great to kind of check out the analytics um I think maybe that would be for shade I guess and then related queries over here as well big umbrella withstand you see so now that that is a lot more context when I was thinking of umbrella I thought of one that you you know normal for rain a rain umbrella but this makes perfect sense because the big umbrella is with stands for summertime in the sun restaurants and everything so again this is great why you do your research uh over here and so we can see it wasn't actually for for rain it was for shade um beach chair with umbrella big umbrella with stand and beach chair with umbrella or two term so maybe we could find item similar to that if you go back here we can also compare it so let's say we were looking at umbrella and rain coat and we wanted to see which one got the most results will search for way less and obviously has its peak over year in Winter as we would suspect so you know that obviously makes a bit more sense and again if we come down we can see where those search were for very little 0% from the northern cape and a few more from here so this is a great way to kind of compare two items uh whether it's a wireless mic and a vlogging mic um whatever the case is and obviously this will give us an indication of season now if we do change this and we go past 5 years we can see if an item over the years is declining now obviously something like a rain coat and umbrella is probably going to be more or less you know static because it's things we use each year but maybe wireless mic or a vlogging stand is maybe trending over the last few years as more people are trying to get into YouTube and more people are are making videos if we see that that trend is going up over the The Last 5 Years that may be something you want to jump on before there's a dip but if you see it's dipping it's probably going to be oversaturated and you don't want to solid item let's change items now and to delete this you can just push the three dos remove or you can edit it of course so let's do that let's go wireless mic we can see this over the past 5 years okay lots of up and downs right but you can see that this had a big Peak in May to June of this year so that is something really cool a lot more people especially if you go on YouTube now YouTube is busy favoring smaller channels and so you can only imagine people are kind of looking for wireless mic video sets um all of those things related so it's really cool to look out for these Trends on social media Instagram YouTube and then put them in Google Trends to try and see what the trend is doing let's look at this over the past 12 months and so you can see these big jumps big dibs with no searches and again here's that Peak that we looked at from May to June and then it's gone down again and it looks like it's busy on its way back up on another Peak that's something good that you can also look into now another thing that you can do just covering on this is if you go to take a lot just the normal take a lot and I type in wireless mic you see that an item like this is on the rise it's growing steadily each year on year then you can go into take a lot search for wireless mic and this is something I wanted to point out in the week that I was busy looking at is you want to look at items this one here is often called uh the K9 but these Wireless Lavia mics and there yeah there you go K9 DW dual wireless mic microphones now this is being sold by a whole bunch of sellers but very very saturated right if you were just going to find a supplier for this and try sell this you can see everyone's dropping their prices these items you'll see it's probably going to pop up a lot more look over there 198 let's see if it goes any lower 310 287 and once these start getting a lot of reviews this particular product has often had quite bad reviews and starts dropping in ratings item like that you don't want to risk putting on so competitive so full where hundreds of people are busy selling it and everyone is just going cheaper and cheaper and cheaper you're not going to make any money on take a lot with that especially with all their fees I would always use these two hand inand go through things on Google Trends and have a look at how it's doing and then go on to take a lot and see how flooded that part of the market is because if it is flooded you just want to avoid those certain products you don't want to just be a repeat of them but you might come across a product that isn't really on you too much or maybe like this one you can only see it being sold by one person 10 reviews 4.5 star or maybe if you find something in those lines at that quality price points for one one uh 1,100 you might have a much better chance of selling that product the key takeaway to this is to pay attention to Trends over months or even years a rising Trend indicates growth and interest in that particular product that's usually something good to jump onto whereas if you see a decrease in the trend your stock is probably going to sit too long and that's going to affect your cash flow and you might get penalties for and storage fees with take a lot that would be an item to avoid we can always dive a little bit deeper in future but I just wanted to give a quick overview with a few examples now as promised the second way uh that you can use and my preferred way is to sell items that you genuinely love and that are solving an issue or the way you found a gap in the market now you can still check the trends and everything as well and that's valuable information this option is probably best for people like myself who also want to build a business out of that product for example with our company um Brew better we are sourcing um and Manufacturing coffee equipment and espresso accessories we building a whole business out of that right we travel we do uh we sponsor some events and help with competitions etc for that we're also selling our items on take a lot but we found a gap in the market uh that's where our expertise are and so that's something that we've chosen to go into for that that's where I'm starting I'm first choosing my product and then I'm finding the platform right we have a full website for that and we sell to wholesalers as well other examples where this would be the better option is maybe you're making handmade goods and at the moment it's very easy to be accepted on to take a lot if you're doing probably South African and handmade items I've seen a few people on YouTube have become pretty successful with handmade scrunchies making their own material sewing it and different colors and with a decent margin and doing like the hair scrunchies I've also seen people with handmade leather wallets and items like that that would also be great because you could build a business around it right you could be promoting it to your friends and family you could create a website for that for that product you could do social media around it because it's in a niche so anytime that you're kind of working within a niche even maybe pet products and certain type of dog leashes when people when that Trend was pretty big you would want to build multiple revenue streams with that so you would want to have a good website built with that as well as being able to sell on take a lot then I would start with items that you genuinely love a big reason for me that this works is that take a lot takes effort and time and yes once you've got your stock onto take a lot and everything's there it is selling in the background and it feels very much passive but a big thing for me with all the admin and everything related to selling products if I was just selling random products like umbrellas the rain coats the wireless mics Etc things that I wasn't really interested in it would be harder for me to master up the time effort and and find the capacity to do that where for myself when I'm very passionate about something it's very easy to put in the time and effort and I want to see it grow and I want it and I know that it can genuinely help people or at least provide value for people that for me is always better for me because I know I'm going to put in the time and effort now if you like searching for Trends and looking at the analytics and going that way that's going to be the best thing for you if you're just doing this on the side like I said and you're only selling on take a lot and you're not trying to build another platform or another business with the product then the first way is for sure going to be your best bet a lot safer and again always go on to take a lot itself look at the products that have been selling well look at what is most flooded most saturated or maybe where you can find a gap on the other side with products that you love start with your passions I love all things uh camera and photography I love coffee um as you can see in the background and our business so I can kind of go into each one of those passions and niches and go okay cool what's a product I've been searching for but maybe been struggling to find them take a lot so maybe in the coffee space it's a certain type of Brewer maybe in the filming space it's a nice wireless mic set that isn't currently being sold or maybe it's just a particular camera stand whatever it is try find your interest if you're going the second route and try find something that that's hard to find at the moment but that there's a big interest on maybe it's trending on YouTube at the moment that's another great source for me for ideas is to find stuff that is currently peing and trending on on YouTube and if you go back to Trends there is a place over year let's just see you can go to web search I believe and then go to YouTube search and you can then compare that so you can see over here a lot of searches recently for the mic and if I go to the Past 5 years let's have a look at that I'm going to go worldwide in this case and there you go very interesting for wireless mic on YouTube specifically um in the past 5 years you can see a constant growth right little dips growths little dibs big growth over here kind of constant and as you can see it's looking like it's going back up almost to the the high highest peak year in which year was this in 2023 more people are getting into YouTube and filming and uh being creative and making YouTube Reals and shorts and this is why it's being searched for more I'm just about to start editing this video and I realized that I know that the part two is definitely going to be needed in terms of once you know what products you're going to search for where do you actually get them from and how can you Source them you know practically to purchase them before selling so that part two is coming don't worry I just wanted to to add that in here so you don't think I'm trying to make some clickbait um I think it's very important that you know how to search for the items first and then part two definitely needs to be where to get those items from so stick around for part two okay enjoy the rest of the video bye this is another great option is to go look what is trending on YouTube what items are trending on YouTube if you love pets and training dogs go look at certain leashes that are currently trending and go that route right again the people we're selling to are just people they're searching for things on YouTube they're looking for reviews they're looking for items on take aot on Amazon on Google that's one of the best places to look now I hope that this was helpful it was a lot of information a lot of chatting sorry about that but I just wanted to give you my
