this area that I mean today has been known to have a lot of semi-precious gemstones a bit of rockery for the garden most gemstones are materials that have eroded from the source or the surrounding area so it's important to press up research the area that you're in to find out if there's any gemstones in it all around the world is a lot of rivers but not all rivers contain gemstones so in this scenario there's a big mountain range where they came from over millions of years so it's probably this area would have formed from the just before the Jurassic period over time they have weathered away into the creeks and river beds that's in the surrounding area and deposited so these are all alluvial deposits or rocks and basically what we're looking for is of course gemstones and then in here I want to study or take a close look or inspect the small bits and pieces or gravel that's in here and then that's a good indication as to what one might find in a certain area so I'm not going to go look for the big rocks first I'm just going to look for the small ones indicators to see what has been deposited so now this is a Jasper ice or a guitars bit of wood another Jasper here hang on okay so looks like this area is getting warmer here in the sand sets I'm getting or I'm seeing a lot of Jasper so that's one's the green one again this one looks nice like green one Jasper swirl this bit here oh that looks like a nice bit of rock it's actually a beautiful rock that what okay it's quite big look how beautiful that is a nice bit of Jasper with different colors so it's got like a red chocolate color in years going pink before I found here petrified wood and see look at all the rings all around it that's a chunk or piece of petrified wood so I'm going to keep that one and next to it all also a darker petrified wood so you can see all the rings still see look at that so I'm going to keep black wood okay into the bucket okay the boss is back and he's going back into the water after depositing his bucket yeah it is hot I'm actually look I'm all red now while I'm all burned yeah unreal anyway it's hot but look what he's found oh look at that that's a pretty that's actually really showing you to know if you can see that in there but it's got some sparkly bits so little crystallized cavities oh wow look at that it's a nice specimen see look look at that and then all the little geodes or cavities in the rock which is actually this is conglomerate ready so basically it's a sedimentary rock with all different types of materials rocks that's on the surface that has been deposited into this host rock now that's hardened sediment and also this one's all different types or petrified wood stuff in black points as well and that one's nice as well showing the band so that's equivalent to how many years there's only one side so it used to be a big tree that one when it fell into the water and that one's nice too look at that and it's beautiful and oh look at that one that's an agate look at that and it's got a geode with crystal oh that's a pretty one that is beautiful it's like two eyes look with its mouth and nose in the center look at that screaming it's like a ghost the ghost agate that one is a piece of white Jasper but that looks like chert to me now part there so interesting stuff so anyway we're going to go back now and we're going to move on we are now in a different part of the river so we went downstream most of these looks like just rocks but anyway just where I am here in here is a piece of petrified wood so that used to be a living wood now it's turned to stone therefore the term petrified something that has been turned into stone basically okay a bit in front of me here this is a form of Jasper but it's the color it's not very very desirable and hang on okay I'm wrong it's actually hang on how this inspect is a bit closer but you can see the texture of it so it looks more agatized compared to say that rock there okay so side by side you can see that one this one is more porous looking or coarse means something that can absorb water readily whereas this one looks like it can repel water so it doesn't absorb water compared to this one so this is a much harder stone compared to this one and this is your semi-precious stone which is a just by this is a comb of Jasper and in here is another piece of petrified wood as all those rings or the ring growth of the tree or what once it used to be a tree then now it's petrified wood but anyway I'm not going to take that because I've got enough petrified wood so I'm just mainly looking for Jasper and as I'm standing here and scanning around in the water itself as well so I'm just going to go here and show you that one there there is a green Jasper so that's actually sticking out like a sore thumb there it is green Jasper with a bit of moss it's not actually most of all its moist but it's not that's got yellow pattern so so this thing here we can that want is black that's actually a piece of coal and it's quite soft and it's leaving all this black mark okay there you go so that's cold so technically looking for gemstone is just picking up anything that's pretty and even that one now look I've got a bit of Cassie today a little bit of tumbled chalcedony and again this one is a piece of Jasper again so you can see sort of a red and olive color this piece of petrified wood which is actually now Jasper ice wood as you can see those green bits there that's actually agatized or should I say that Jasper I sorry but agate ice would so used to be wood but now it turned into a gets a silica seep into the rotting wood and turn it into or agate I stitch this is interesting I'm not going to take it but I'm just going to show you see that part there it looks like a bit of nodule agate nodule stuck on this bit of conglomerate or compacted sediment and then over there is I just saw a piece of wood again again petrified wood am I going to take that one it's actually maybe a wood or what it is the branch or I'm just thinking maybe or again why is that beautiful okay now I have to take that one as well because of the pattern or deformation see I think this is the bottom half with the root system of the tree sort of grew and so that's the base of the tree so again that would actually come up nice so I'm going to keep that one I just can't help myself there's all these shiny rocks all around me or rocks that I've got shiny particles in them I've crush up a little bit on the edge of that one there onto here see little bits of sparkle enos so it's like little diamonds I don't know so every now and then I think you see a glint somewhere just for cue your city's sake I'm gonna bring a little piece home and grind it or see even that one oh that's better so you can see this popping up now so I'm gonna see if they're diamonds or what they are because I'm going to look under the microscope and see and identify them if they're diamonds cuz who knows wall is back with an Isis green Jasper he said but look oh wow well it almost looks like um crocoite yeah well okay that's the best pine for the day and the boss just deliver it again look at that that's the great Oh beautiful look at that Oh beautiful I can see from there see look for put it against my head Sidora is the difference in the color I can use your color green one - yes then an orange Jasper orange and yellow get um that one is actually almost like an agate ice wood or Jasper ice wood yeah beautiful yeah those ones are nice oh well okay so now this one I don't want to smash it up so I'm putting it in my pocket that's a score that's a really good score okay the last bit of a variety again but I love that one see the color yeah different colors Wow it's almost like an imperial Jasper I'm not really Imperial Jasper but yeah almost it's cool matter if you're lying down in here and then they're all just swimming all around you wouldn't it be nice hey little fishes you okay so that's looking much better but I think it needs a bit of soaking and scrubbing so I'm going to leave the big Jasta rock and I'm going to go on my little bit of color Lily wood here you
