hey guys this is AC server second today what we're going over is how to find a leak in an air conditioning system so right now we're looking at the indoor evaporator coil and we're going to go ahead and open up the cover we're going to use the back rack informant to leak detector and we're also going to use a bubble leak detector as well we've had our back rack informant to powered up for at least 30 seconds so we're going to go ahead and sniff around you want to move that probe real slow all right so the tool just went off here so it's going off anytime we get down low so let me bring you in for a closer shot of that so it looks like we have a leak up front right here I'm just going to go ahead and keep moving the moving this back a little bit all right it seems like we have another leak back here as well so this is right where the distributor tubes are meeting the evaporator coil now we're right in the inside of the coil okay now we're about an inch and a half away from it we're gonna bring it back to the joint again and you see that our leaf must be right on that last joint so right here is an up-close image with the bubbly detector I actually have a couple leaks on this right here on the system where the distributor tubes attached into the evaporator coil out and you can see that the bubble action right there it's making tiny tiny little bubbles and it's kind of foaming so that's what you're looking for and that'll pinpoint your leak so now we're backed up and you can see where the refrigerant leak is on the distributor tube on the evaporator coil so that's one of them there's another one towards the back so that's how you find these leaks you use the electronic leak detector and then you follow that up with the bubble leak detector to pinpoint it just so you know I have these tools that were used in this video link down the description below and if you want to help support this HVAC our training channel check out patreon.com/scishow c service tech where we're rewarding the members there by giving them extra content such as articles videos and then we're answering questions hope you enjoyed yourself and we'll see you next time at AC service tech Channel you
