HOW TO: Fencing - Box strainer

okay so we're here putting our second fence line up along this ditch line we're using Hotel saw a while because I like that that best and relative a sheep it's a tall it maintains its tightness really hard to anchor it my favorite way of doing it is with a box trainer it stands an impact and doesn't give you don't need to use too big posts but I prefer to on the strength of the a job your end post is the most important point of the fence if this doesn't move and you got high tensile wire nothing moves so we'll show you how to do a box training or the way that we like to do a box trainer there's other ways you can put the straining post in the middle and the wire I just prefer it at the at the top of the wall it just looks better and I like it that way so I'm going to start by drilling a hole in the post here where the point of this post is is going to go into [Music] well I like to do just do it in steps so that it it rolls into the you don't want a deep wide hole as the pressure of the point will split the post eventually so try and make a cone-shaped kind of place [Music] while just stripping down there each drill bit as we going get a nice cone shaped hole or same time so far there's probably a drill that you can get they give you a coach back power see how this point fits him now that feels about right and before before it would split this hole the point will hit the end of the hole but that's that's something like right I think yeah see the flat end of the boasted point goes into the into the post the screws go through the post I've got a countersink it's and screws are long enough [Music] you know with the extension you've got to think this [Applause] and then we've got staple in here I've actually cut alive the why it's not necessarily my trademark yeah and then we do this double long he's better not to touch it workshop purchase some more off at the end doesn't matter too much so the tool that we used is homemade it's a six inch nail flattened out at one end and uh and a hole drilled through it and we grip one side with these fancy boys either side goes on what's a nice nice Atari it's all goes on again if this wasn't high tensile wire you will be able to do this by hand but because it is height and soil you need to make a little tool like this I think the neat biomaterial about fourteen quiddity Lisa Lisa just hit easier I'm a nail at night one but you see it makes a really nice nice job a strong job and a job that looks nice too don't get your twist too close together that's when the wire snaps nice thinking is well again [Music] to grow the top and hopefully we've got it in the right place it will drop [Music] beautifully into that that's perfect and in the future I really think this club at the fence or get a bit slack you can have that out put a couple of twists on it and you know only small before you can ever moves you can get back to where you want it that box trainer
