How To Factory Reset Lenovo Ideapad 5 Laptop & Reinstall Windows 10 (2021)

hello viewers in today's video i'll show you how to do a factory reset on this lenovo ideapad laptop whether you're having a problem with your windows operating system or you just want to reset it back to factory default here's how you go about resetting this ideapad 5 laptop [Music] first shut down the laptop then turn it to the side right here there's a small pin hole right here and behind it is the novo reset switch and next to it is a round arrow symbol this tells you this is a novo reset switch with the laptop shutdown use a small pin to press a reset switch the screen will show you the recovery menu using the keyboard arrow button go down to system recovery go down to troubleshoot hit enter select reset this pc you have two options the first one is reset the pc and keep your personal files the one below that will reset the pc and remove all the files i want to wipe everything clean so i'm going to select remove everything if i ask for a recovery key you can get that key by going to the microsoft account using this address aka the ms forward slash my recovery key once you have that recovery key enter here select continue here ask you how you want to reinstall windows select local reinstall here you can choose to just remove my files or fully clean the drive now if you do fully clean the drive your old files will be harder to recover but does take more time i'm gonna choose fully clean the drive now before you proceed there are a couple things you want to keep in mind make sure the laptop is plugged into the charger and this reset will remove all personal files on the account and remove all the apps and programs that did not come with a pc select reset so after about 40 minutes the reset is complete now prompt you to do the initial setup your keyboard is set to us want to stick with that do you also type with another keyboard layout now let's get you connected to a network that way you can get updates apps and cat videos as soon as possible now type your credentials mission accomplished you're all linked up now we have some important setup to do now let's see what's new from windows next up the legal stuff in short you'll type your email address or phone number your pc comes with a free one month trial of microsoft 365 hey look that's me cortana can i have permission to use the info i need to do my best work almost done now we just need to get a few more things polished up for you and windows will be all yours looking forward to helping out after the setup the computer is now logged into windows 10 and the reset is complete i hope you found this video to be helpful thank you for watching thank you for watching this video to support this channel remember to click on thumbs up subscribe my channel and turn on the notification bell so you get notified of new videos
