hey our friends today we're going to be drawing this alright dad you got your marker yeah alright we hope you guys are going to follow up with us and before we start we wanted to tell our friends in miss Greg's class in South Florida hi and we love you very much don't worry love them your love you guys we're doing this drawing because of you guys your school mascot is a stingray and we wanted to show you how much we love you all right you're ready to start yeah all right let's do this all right dude we're going to keep this activity really simple yeah we're going to draw a big u-shape right here in the middle of our paper hey we're gonna draw you and it's going to come back up like that not cool awesome good job Kate now we're going to draw the top of his head so we're going to draw a curve that goes right here and connects to the right side of his way so he has a wing coming up over here and this is the other wing this is going to be the top of his head now let's draw his eyes we draw the far eye over here we're going to come directly to the right on this side we're going to draw this other eye this is going to be the top of his eye good and then we're going to draw a circle or kind of an oval shape and then fill it in there's this close eye or is near eye okay now they have a another ear or a gill on the side of his head so I'm going to draw a little sick shape okay now let's finish his nose well the part that's coming into his body blending into his body good now let's draw and finish this wing over here so we're going to draw me yeah that's kind of wings they look like they're flying huh so I'm going to I'm going to kind of curve this up just a little bit so it makes a little S at the end then we're going to draw another s line coming down and connecting into his body like that not cool go ahead and then just curves that awesome okay now on this side we're going to curve this that and then we're going to curve it down and we're going to end kind of in the middle so right here yeah that's a good smile that's okay that looks good all right now we're going to draw an s-line neck starts right here on his nose comes up and then connects to that the line over there so it's going to come up and then back down good job okay what is he missing it's jealous yeah he's missing his tail so we're gonna draw an a curve I was gonna say an S line but we're just going to draw a curve and it's going to hook all the way around good now we're going to draw another line let's start up here at the end so we're going to start really close to his tail like this and we're going to get thicker as we come towards his body all right kid knows etson let's add some details to his his tail they have a little stinger that comes out on their tail okay and then I'm going to draw a little wavy line for almost like a fin that's on their tail so on this side a little wavy line and then on this side I'm going to draw another wavy line that's right next to his tail well it looks so cool now I'm going to add little teeny spikes on the back of his head or the back of his body so I'm going to do a row right on the edge and then I'm going to do another row right below that one that goes down that met also yeah okay I'm going to do one more that kind of comes down his forehead in between his eyes so we're gonna dude we finished him but he's going to look way cooler if we color yeah let's get our colored pencils and we'll come right back all right we're going to use four colors we got black dark blue light blue and a white we're going to do some shading so let's take it a step at a time but we're also going to fast forward so you guys at home pause the video after we talk about some of the steps yeah so we're first going to start with our light blue and we're going to cover everything except for on this wing okay let's draw a line that goes and we're going to draw a really light line we don't want to put a dark line a line that goes around the outside down here and that's it right like that so we're going to leave the inside this part white and we're going to color the border like this so let's color the whole thing with this light blue and we'll come back not pressing too hard when recovering we're just putting a medium layer so not too light not too dark you don't want it to look so I did a really dark on the tail and that's it looks solid and smooth and then on his body the rest of his body I'm pressing a lot lighter alright now let's add the shading he's going to look super 3d and super awesome once we shave so we're going to take our the same color that we were using and we're going to add a little s shadow for shading right here so comes down it's just kind of a curve actually it's thinking an S line but not really so we're just going to go right under his eye and we're going to come down to right here and this is just going to be we're going to press a lot heavier so that it looks thicker okay now as we go up let's lighten it let's add another layer but get lighter as we go up so this is the side of his body so if the light is shining on top this part would be darker okay let's add another shadow so press down we're going to create another line coming down his nose now we're going to shade up we're going to start up here on his wing and we're going to start dark and then as we come down as wing we're going to get really light okay I'm going to add a little shadow under his eye and now we need to shade this wing so the underside is white but we're going to use the blue to add a shadow so we want to press really light and we're going to shade the bottom part and then as we come up like this we're going to get a lot lighter okay now let's get our white and we're going to use this to smooth out the the pencil lines on our drawing and this works really well with prismacolor sometimes it doesn't work well with other brands but you can give it a try and if it doesn't work you can just leave the pencil lines you don't have to worry about smoothing it out or blending it great job now that white really smooths everything out little bit now we're going to use our black and I'm going to come in here and just color in his and a side Gill here and then we can also darken his eye if it looks a little light because we went over it with the white I'm going to go back over some of these lines then I'm going to add a little shadow with the black right here and the end of his tail where it comes into the body and then I'm also going to come up here to the tip of his tail and add a black and a shading on the very end like that hey now we can put the black down I'm going to use the really dark blue and I'm going to come in here and blend that black in so looks smoother and also down here and we're going to use this this color to add a darker shadow right here on the side of his body then I'm also going to add that shadow on the side of his head and then I'm also going to come up here the same place where we did it on the wing also okay the last step I'm going to take that dark blue and I'm just going to go along the front edge of his body right here and just darken that in good job dude he turned out awesome I love stingrays they are so awesome now we've also drawn a manta ray and we'll leave a link below this video where you can check it out yeah also check out the visit to the aquarium we'll leave a link to that too because we saw a real one of these yes we hope you guys had a lot of fun drawing your stingrays with us remember you can always pause the video if we went too fast or you can even rewatch the video if you want to practice yeah practicing is really important yeah we'll see later our friends good bye
