How to draw a rose

crazy in this tutorial I'm gonna show you guys a really cool way to learn to draw a rose right now a rose can be but I think most things anyway can can appear intimidating especially they have a lot of parts and stuff and the way a rose has all these petals it can be pretty you know intimidating now you'd be surprised about how simple this may be now arose in essence because I know I'm always trying to you know simplify things to basic forms if you have a cylinder like this right and say for example where imagine this as being coiled up see like that now a rose is essentially that is essentially like petals you know called around in a in a cylindrical form and then it's relaxed so I was like you know it's made up of these overlapping forms like see if using the line of dance is really useful it's like that's what a rose essentially is see and then imagine like a cylinder with dump I can do this I could do this here but I'm just doing it over here this for you to see the difference but you know it's like you have you have these peels that are actually like folding back like that you see them saying so this one it's like that it's like it spilling over like that so this is like the inside and that's essentially if you can draw a cylinder like this and do these things and say you have like three of these lines of balance like that and in these forms are just pretty much going around like that you know you've pretty much got yourself a rose and a in a nutshell you know I'm just repeating these little forms either you see what I'm saying of course I'm going to tweak this a little bit but that's essentially what what what I think goes into it you know or that's just a way of conceptualizing it and what happens here for example you know you may not necessarily be purely just like that but it may actually seem like you have a cocoon at the top something like this see but essentially the same thing since I mean and that's essentially the basic idea you know and and in thinking of these it's just like you have like uh it's like having a cylinder like this and then having these strips you know and just peeling them back basically see that's that's how you know I just you have to try to practice to visualize basic forms you know I was just visualizing it in a simple way as you possibly can so I'll just pretty much demonstrate the same idea right here and I'll just draw like a bigger one I guess yes all right so you know you have a cylinder you Oh you that's basically it so see I'm basically really just started with this idea you know and just eventually just you know gave it some natural forms so instead of like having this form basically like this you know I would you know make it a little bit more natural to something like that you see what I mean but I still have basically you know regardless of whatever I still have this overall form that I am working with see of course it's not going to be straight like a cylinder see so it almost like it has this egg like form so it's that the cone like form sharpens here but it's basically the same thing I'm doing just like that doing like that and then just putting these oh you know these flaps around it like it's turning over you're seeing the inside and that's really what is going on with the Rose you know that the petals are really flapping over you know it just repeats that but of course I'm containing it and I'm you know paying attention to where I put the shadows and stuff like that so like with this the shadows are going to be in these areas see where it's closed making contact with the body of the flower that's where most of the shadow is and also at the end or it's turning out of the light see this is facing the light so that's the lightest part under here would be the shadows see the same thing with this shadow light shadow again it's the same principle that all of you see the shadows in the the most of the lines are indicating a shadow in the plate in the parts that are close to the body of the flower and sometimes to the tip where it's folding over and that's the basic idea I'm just repeating over and over
