hi my name is Mac if you're watching this video it's because you either want to do a hard reset on your tip um or you're replacing your tip um either way it's really simple you can do it yourself and save yourself a ton of money do not go to the dealer they will charge you an arm and a leg they will tell you it needs to be programmed they will tell you it takes a bunch of time and it's absolutely unnecessary this is how you do it it's going to start with disconnected your battery well we disconnect your negative battery terminal first okay this cheap it does not have the seven style tip um I'm only using this for representational purposes just so you get the idea so I'm gonna start with disconnecting my battery disconnected my negative just kicked my positive I'm going to bring the positive over to the negative and I'm using a zip tie you can use you can use the rope you can use string you can use wire whatever it is works and we're going to connect once they're disconnected from the battery and connect these two terminals can together [Music] okay we've got them together once we got them together we're going to leave this for at least a few hours or even overnight at the minimum a few hours once is disconnected we're gonna go ahead and remove the tip boom the old tip um we're gonna remove the plugs be careful when removing them not to break these clips okay I have a separate video that shows you how to remove the clips one by one in case you're having a hard time with them okay just be careful when removing them you go to remove the plugs you remove your old tip them now you wait wait a few hours wait two to three hours or even overnight whether you're doing a hard reset just a hard reset and not replacing to them or are you doing the hard reset and replacing the tip either way try and wait a couple hours to let the capacitor is completely drain normally you'd expect to drain quicker for some reason I found that people may not have success after ten or twenty minutes but if they leave the battery connected together for a couple hours I've found people have had much better success so if you've waited a couple hours and now it's time to reconnect it take your tip home you've got your free to rebuild tip inform us or you've got a used tip um or whatever you've got you bring it back and you install it now if you've got it you get all your plugs in you bet it won't plug back together okay and you do all this can your vehicle does not start don't worry it doesn't mean you have a defective tip um doesn't mean you should go running to the dealer to give them money what you do is is unplug your tip um go back so you're gonna just kick your battery again unplug your tip them and replug it all the plugs back in sometimes even though they click inside they're just not sitting properly and they need to be unplugged and plug back in again ok so if you've done everything right you've done your hearts hard reset correctly you've taken it removed it removed or replaced your tip them correctly and it's not starting all you got to do is just disconnect your battery cables you don't have to do the hard reset again but disconnect them remove your tip um remove the plugs and replace them once again sometimes it's just not sitting right and it may seem like it clicked it may seem like everything's plugged in right but it's just not sitting right whatever you do do not go riding to the dealer to throw money at that if you've bought a rebuilt it from us and you're having an issue try unplugging it and plugging back in if you still have a problem just give us a call or send us an email we'd be glad to immediately ship another one out to you or help you with that or whatever probably maybe having thanks a lot I hope you have a great day
