How to Cut Fiberglass Insulation

In this video, I'm going to show you how to easily and safely cut insulation with Slice safety blades. ♪ [music] ♪ Many of our customers manufacture insulation, and they've asked us to come up with the safer way to cut that insulation, for both the manufacturing process and the installation process. And I'm happy to introduce two new tools that we just created specifically for cutting this type of material. Both the manual four-inch blade and the auto-retractable four-inch blade. Both of these blades are reversible, so you have both sides of them. These handles are ambidextrous. You could change the direction of the cutting edge if you're left-handed or right-handed. And you have the option of both manual and auto for that added safety. I'm going to remove the cover from this insulation and then I'm going to show you how easy it is to cut this insulation with these tools. ♪ [music] ♪ Traditionally, this is the type of blade people use to cut insulation. It's a very dangerous, very sharp, this flexibility is not ideal at all. So, Slice came up with a much safer alternative. We have two handles, one is a manual and the other is an auto. Both use the same blade. You have a pointed tip blade or a rounded tip blade. I'm going to use the manual version to show you how easy it is to cut insulation with the Slice safety blade. An additional benefit is, this fiberglass will eat through metal blades one after the other. It just destroys the metal and makes them dull and dangerous almost immediately. Our blades hold the sharpness level that we manufacture them at. They're very safe to the touch, if they will cut this fiberglass insulation like butter.
