walking you through an example buyer journey to give you a better understanding of transactional and informational keywords so this is this is an example of buyer Journey that we created for the Boom app for this week's episode of how we would grow this which is a series where we create a complete content cluster for a company because our mission for this year is to help 500 new companies to grow their business profitably with SEO so I'll just walk you through each step uh each stage of the buyer's Journey so the first three steps will be informational keywords so stage one is problem unaware where the the buyer is has no knowledge of the problem but they may be feeling symptoms of the problem as we move to stage two the buyers they're aware of the problem but they don't know if there's a solution uh as we move to the third stage it's solution unaware so the buyer understands their problem and is interested in finding out how to solve it so all three of these stages are the are the informational keywords branch and as we move to stage four and five that's where we get started into the transactional keyword stages so stage four is solution aware where the buyer wants to know about specific products and services that might work for their problem and as we move to the final stage which is product aware the buyer is just narrow narrowing down options to fit their individual criteria so they have questions and objections and to solve this problem the company should create you should create content to compare yourself to competitors products so that the buyer could understand that your product is just far more capable than the competitor's products for the sake of Simplicity for this video we'll just talk about transactional and informational keywords simply put informational keywords aim to educate inform and edutain the audience and transactional keywords persuade people to take action such as making a purchase or contacting you before we get started here's a quick tip that'll help you with keyword research you should download the HF SEO toolbar because it's going to help you to see if there's search volume for each keyword or phrase that you search for directly within the search engine results page itself so it'll also help you see how much traffic top pages are generating on a monthly basis how many keywords they're ranking for as well as how many backlinks they have pointed to their Pages or the website that's ranking [Applause] [Music] [Applause] your first goal should be to rank for transactional keywords because these keywords will actually drive real revenue for you immediately you can see if there is search traffic for this by searching for your category directly in Google for example if you sell a CRM solution for the real estate industry you can search for terms like real estate CRM software or best crms for commercial real estate for these Search terms you'll notice that the top ranking Pages get thousands of visitors per month so there's just some quick validation over there and you'll also notice that most of the serps otherwise known as search engine results Pages show ads so that just means that this search term is valuable and it generates real revenue for companies you can also see if there's traffic for people that are looking for alternatives to your competitor's solutions for example if you search up line desk alternative this page is ranking and generates some hyper qualified traffic traffic on a monthly basis for realy juggler validating transactional search volume for your Market depends on your deal size for example if there are a thousand searches per month for transactional terms in your Market but your average revenue per customer is $1,500 per year this means that in the best case scenario There's an opportunity to add $1.5 million in new AR every single month this is the extreme best case scenario of course but even if you're able to C capture 10% of that search traffic that translates to a potential ability to add $150,000 in new AR every single month through SEO it's important to note that lots of Downstream factors will affect this like conversion rate pricing proof points and other similar [Applause] factors now that SEO are profitable growth Avenue for you you can Target the top of the funnel now with informational keywords we'll use the same example of a CRM solution for the real estate industry when it comes to your first content cluster for informational topics it's important to keep the keywords focused around your business category as well because people searching for these terms are still more likely to convert than people that are searching for more broad terms also it's important to not only look at the direct search volume of the given keyword but also the traffic potential because that's the amount of traffic that the top ranking Pages for these keywords are approximately ranking for so you can think about keywords such as real estate CRM features real estate CRM with MLS integration or how to use CRM for Real Estate once you put together a cluster of around 20 to 30 keywords you'll quickly see that there's potential to drive thousands of monthly site visitors across all of these keywords so that's further validation that people are searching for related terms in your category when they're in their final deciding moments of deciding on a solution to go ahead [Applause] with so here's your action plan start by focusing on transactional keywords because that's the closest to the money and then you can start to work on informational keywords to build your top of funnel once you start to generate real traffic your work is not complete though now now comes the fun part of improving your page design your UI and
