Imagine that you walk into a bookstore and you don't really know
what type of book you want to read, but you just look around and boom,
you see a perfect book cover, and you pick it, and you go home
and you read the book. The same thing happens
when people go on YouTube. They search for something and they find the best book cover,
the best YouTube thumbnail. And in this video
I'll teach you guys the same thing. What to look for, what to do,
what do not to do. When you are creating your YouTube
channel. It doesn't have to be rocket science. You need to try
and you need to fail in it. Try again if you have been on YouTube,
the chances are that you have seen this thumbnail. Right here is a MrBeast squid game
video is the most popular video on his channel,
and one of the most popular non-music videos on the platform,
and I want to improve myself. So I did a bunch of research
not only on just this thumbnail, but a bunch of time nails
What's clickable with this thumbnail? how can I apply the same techniques
and skills to my own ten nails to make my videos pop
a little bit more and make new viewers? Want to click on my video? if you have been watching
some of my videos before, I always tell you guys
to create your YouTube thumbnail first, Because then you get a visual idea
of what your video is going to be like and if you don't feel so click
baited and fooled when they are clicking on your video,
it's really important that your time nail and your video matches
whatever their expectation is before they click your video,
because if they click it and something completely else happens,
they will probably just click off and YouTube will be like, no,
this channel is just a scam move on. Hello there. But it's also equally important to create a thumbnail
that works for your niche and your brand. and for the viewer to understand,
okay, this is a biking channel. This is a cooking channel. the thumbnail sort of represents
your YouTube channel. I want you to go to Google right now
and search for a brand like Nike, Coca Cola, iPhone, whatever. And you will see that they have
the same font in every single ad campaign. They will have similar colors and
maybe they have changed over the years. But the brand recognition is always there
so I want you to think in the same way. think about your thumbnail as an
ad for your video, an ad for your channel, and an ad for an all around
the branding of your ad channel. Don't have too much in the way.
Make it simple. Make it clean. If you add text,
make sure that it's really visible. it's not a complicated font to read. It
stands out. Remember this. It can be really hard
to stand out on YouTube. A bunch of people are making the same type
of content that you are making, you want a viewer to understand
why you have a unique voice, and why you have a unique twist on
the thing that you are making videos on. Because it's really hard
to make a video on something that is brand new on YouTube
that nobody has made a video on before. so if you have a better thumbnail game, you can stand out and people
will click your video even though you have a lower subscriber count
in the lower viewer account. And if you match a good time nail
with a good content boom, you will have a new subscriber,
you will have new viewers, you will have returning viewers And you will never know
when your next video will blow up. And you will make it. That's why I am here to grow my YouTube
channel. That's probably why you are here. Also to grow your YouTube channel. make sure that you have a good simple
readable thumbnail that people will click. so how can you. And I make sure that our thumbnail works
and people will click the thumbnail. So there are bunch of websites
where you can upload your thumbnail to, and you can see how it works
on the YouTube homepage. I have done a bunch of times is
to download that thumbnail into Photoshop and try to recreate the thumbnail
bit by bit, and just replacing it with my own picture
and my own font, so I can learn from it and understand
how they build the thumbnail. but then I try to twist it. I touch to try to make my own twist
and make it a bit more personal. I change all of this stuff and all of a
sudden I have a really similar thumbnail, but it's obvious that it's mine
Because the most important part is that you don't steal
someone else's thumbnail. But it's perfectly fine to borrow
something from another thumbnail, because they have probably borrowed
something from another thumbnail. So I mean, Someone has done
similar things. We see people making TV shows on YouTube
now they just take the TV show, make a little twist on the TV show and they make their own YouTube video
and their own show sort of thing. so YouTube. Have been working on this
a b testing for YouTube time nails where you can upload
three different types of thumbnails. and YouTube will randomly test out
your thumbnails to see what works and what doesn't work for you. So you can get more views. even though the a b testing for thumbnails
are in beta and are really limited, I will still encourage you to make three
different types of thumbnails yourself so you can practice, and you can switch them out manually
and see what works and what doesn't work. YouTube has also been talking
about YouTube and YouTube TV. So I think it's important
to use high resolution pictures. when you are creating your terminal so it can be viewed on the TV
in high quality. I have also seen that when you're pausing your video,
the thumbnail just gets really big. even though it's not super necessary
to have a super high quality picture to just have it in your mind
that a bunch of viewers are watching YouTube on a TV. So to have a good YouTube
thumbnail in high quality and your video in high quality
It's probably a good idea. So yeah just think about your thumbnail
before you create your video. Think about colors of think about that. It's going to match your video. High quality and not a bunch of clutter. And I think you're good to go. Go ahead create a bunch of thumbnails. Have fun with it. If you liked this video, leave a thumbs up
and remember to subscribe and I'll see you guys in the next one! Espion. Peace out! Bye bye. Good bye. Bye bye bye.
