[Music] alright guys what's up amazing ballroom dancers Alexis here and welcome back to ballroom with Alexei alright finally today right now we're going to make some rhythms today we will figure out what is cha cha rhythm and using cha cha rhythm which will try to figure out what's rhythm in general okay so we figured out that any music has its beat it's always hidden underneath oops underneath of all of the instruments together beat is keeping everything at once connecting all instruments but beat itself is not a rhythm so we learned that we can put beats together in matters and phrases and we do learn that we can have a half beats and water beats as well using all the knowledge we have now we can create a basic rhythm so let's say our American rumba American rumba has slow quick-quick timing so slow quick-quick would be a rhythm okay so one two three four one two three four is a beat but slow quick quick slow quick quick is the rhythm so let's say we have this cowbell so our slope is going to be two beats of music one two is just one slow and quick quick is to beat number three and four so we're gonna go one two three four slow three four slow quick quick slow quick quick so our count this slow quick quick it's time for us when to make step when we transfer our way so let's say contemporary dance based mourning mala ji you don't have consistent rhythm you follow but dances like salsa or rumba or cha cha you always have this basic rhythm what is our rhythm so if we will take four bits of music we have our 1 2 3 4 this is our measure right so if we will divide our last count 4 on half beats and we'll create and already know how to do it so we're gonna have 1 2 3 4 and and then 1 again and then we keep going two three four and one two three four and one so this rhythmical pattern one two three four and one two three four and this is the ChaCha beat which this composer in Ricky during Joran Joran I'm sorry I'm not pronouncing it correct but this guy he played violin and he used to play this Mambo music and he noticed that Mambo is just two rhythmically syncopated two complex and it was not very easy for dancers to follow so he created this new rhythm which were as last syncopated as possible so we just held one syncopation one and one additional beat between so we have all straight beats one two three four and one additional count and and that's been revolutionary that created new style of music and that style of music reading new dance cha-cha-cha because this sound right that was sound like and well something like that don't quote me on that alright well now let's hear our cha-cha music and let's find this let's try to figure out how to count that so here's our music right so we have 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 two three four sub-account we can count every count on end so we can do like this one and two and three and four and one and two and three and four and what we did on the previous lesson but we don't need to do this on every end we just have to sync of eight which means a traditional beat income after count four which is going to be one two three one two three and five two three four and one right no and you here right now it's hidden underneath so many sounds so what if we will get rid of everything what we don't need so here we go so they go one two and one two three four and one so you see whine whine whine whine this-this-this percussion it's a signature of ChaCha style and 1/4 and 1/4 and one syncopate right it's creates this half half full sound so this half is when it's and and then it goes into full so look so it's pop ha ha ha fool cha-cha 1 4 & 1 1 1 1 1 cha-cha 1 right so it goes every time but we're gonna use it in our dance only at 4 & 1 so we add some melody some vocals just for fun some bass line and on top of that we do in our ChaCha so we go one two three one two three cha-cha one two three cha-cha one two three cha-cha one two three right this is the rhythm if we will not make if we will just make steps in one place this is ChaCha rhythm pure rhythm which then we use in different direction working where we make in steps right we're making steps pattern but using this rhythmical pattern all the time one two three four and one two three four and one four and one right so many of you guys actually have a good sense of rhythm but what we are locking is this understanding of one two three four and one two three that's kind of like owning of this rhythm more in your body for the lack of better terms so now sometimes people count one two three cha cha cha so then in this case it will be a little confusing because if we count in cha cha cha so last third cha will represent the full beat compared to the first two cha cha which is represent half beat if we count in with cha cha cha then we have to do 2 3 cha-cha-cha 2 3 because our last cha is represent count 1 I know it can be a little confusing but give it a time and you'll figure it out make sure to not count how is the house one two cha-cha-cha one two cha-cha-cha one two cha-cha-cha it's okay in the beginning but just know that this is not exactly correct and you will have to relearn it later it's better to start learning right away properly basically musicality is one of four criterias how judges judging you right even though there is a three others criteria so musicality technique partnership and presentation if your musicality is not there if you dancing off time it doesn't matter how good is your technique doesn't matter how well is your presentation and doesn't matter how good is your connection with the partner you dancing off beat and most likely judges will not judge you really good so try your best to stay on time I wish you all the best in this journey it's so much fun to dance to music rather than next to music okay please subscribe to my channel and check out my patreon page if you like my content and you want to support me I would really appreciate that thank you
