How to Convert Image Based PDF Files or Images to Editable Text

foreign hi in this video we're going to show you how to do an OCR text conversion on a PDF document that is an actual image rather than text so sometimes you'll get a PDF that was you know scanned like someone took their document scanned it on their scanner and then just sent it to you as an image scan so like and other times you'll have it as text so let's say this one here is actual text or you could highlight the text and copy it and then you know paste it into whatever or even you know save the document as something else but then you might also get a document like this one where you have an image so this is not actual text you can see I can't highlight text or anything like that it's just one single image file even though you know even has a picture in there as well so what you could do is take this PDF document and upload it to this website here onlineocr.net and it'll convert it for you you have a maximum file size of 15 megabytes so that's the catch so you select your file here's that one we're just looking at you pick your language pick your format you could do Word Excel or just plain text so it's up to you if you want to keep the formatting then you want to pick word although if you don't care about the formatting you just want the text you're probably better off picking text so we're going to try and keep the formatting on this and see what happens click on convert okay so it shows your output file as text right here we could which you could just copy and paste if you just wanted to text but we're going to download the word document from right here okay so download it automatically into my download so let's open it up so you can see there it looks pretty much just like the PDF so we do it side by side here yeah so not too bad so like I said it's a really easy way to get your uh image based PDFs converted to text if you need to edit it or put in another application so I'll put a link in the description for this OCR online ocr.net and then you get to try it out for yourself and do some PDF conversions all right thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe [Music]
