great you want to connect your subwoofer into your TV excellent I'm going to show you that you actually probably will be able to without even needing to use an amplifier just a couple of requirements to take into account and I'm going to show you them here on Simple Cafe sound Illustrated tutorials short and sweet you can skip up to watchmeconnect but I highly recommend staying tuned for these two keys to make sure that you are going to be able to connect directly the first key is the type of subwoofer you have it's got to have an internal amplifier basically a powered subwoofer because it connects to a power source if you're confused about that just check it out and see does it have a power cable like this that's there to power your subwoofers internal amplifier so now all that checks out and ultimately this means that you have an active subwoofer if that's what you have congratulations you have one of the two keys confirmed to connect directly to your TV now if your subwoofer isn't that type then you probably have to connect with these kinds of cables this would make it a passive subwoofer now you'll still be able to connect to your TV but you'll need the help of an amplifier receiver and then that can connect to the TV as well just about any stereo receiver should do but if you don't have one check out link number four for a relatively small and cheap solution if connecting this way is the way you have to go great I have this other video already showing you how to do so here all right on to the second key to connecting directly it's all about your TV and does it have the capacity to send audio out to an external Sound Source if that sounds complicated to keep it simple I mean external speakers can RTV do this well to know we're gonna have to go behind our TV and look for either an AUX port or a pair of RCA ports got them great you can skip over to minute 230. oh no your TV only has Optical out sadly for a while there are many TVs only offer digital audio Optical to send audio out to external speakers now the good news is though I already made that video for you sitting right there oh no your TV doesn't have that either well there may be some hope left I'll have that video for you right up here when this one's over thank you great you did find RCA or Ox on your TV alright so far so good but there's one last thing we have to check see yeah you only need either one of these but the key is this whichever one you find has to say out meaning it's going to send the audio Source out from the TV have another look and make sure that you see the word audio or line out out is the key now honestly it's kind of hard to find RCA out on TVs but if you do find it your connection will be as simple as this what you're more typically going to find is an AUX port labeled audio out or in this case line out even a port that will have the symbol of headphones will do the trick if you're thinking doesn't my subwoofer only take RCA well thankfully we have an AUX to RCA cable but you know what we've just created a little bit of a dilemma here's the thing your TV says let me cut off my audio since you've connected headphones seems logical why would you want to hear your TV if you have headphones connected now at first glance it doesn't seem like a problem we know we're sending our audio out to our subwoofers so we'll still get sound but here's the thing a subwoofer's specialty is to generate deep low frequencies simply speaking bass now if you think awesome that's what we want correct but if we're only having deep bass coming out we're going to lose our quote-unquote normal sound which we obviously want to keep now it's not the end of the world because thankfully these exist it's an ox to Ox splitter as the name implies we're going to be able to send our aux audio Source out to our subwoofer and somewhere else like a regular speaker system including a stereo speaker system like this okay we're done with our keys to connect now let's look at the demonstration skip over to minute 535 if you're gonna connect via aux okay right now I have I have my DVD player connected to the TV and I already have my subwoofer ready with it this TV thankfully has RCA out so any sound that's going to be any sound that's playing through the TV will continue to play to the TV and to this Source this connection which I have already connected to my subwoofer play [Music] now we still hear the TV which is great so [Music] it's gonna make this come across on your phone but now I can feel the base too so I have a much wider range of sound I have the regular sound frequencies from here and the lower and rich ones from down here now let's see how to connect it with RCA with aux also we've learned the real reason that we won't okay so I'm gonna get rid of this TV because this TV does not have aux out here's my other TV nice little one which has RCA but these are only RCA in to receive sound sources and video sources so here we go so it's going to be playing that DVD as well now again this doesn't have RCA out but thankfully and most likely like your TV it will have an AUX port which is a headphone jack now here's the thing whenever we play something here which I'm not going to yet because we're connected through the headphone jack the TV is going to cut off the TV sound right because that's the whole point of headphones is you only want to hear it through your headphones so that's kind of a bad thing for us because check it out whenever we make our connection to our subwoofer here's the aux cord so now at that moment the TV is going to cut the TV audio off and only play audio through here which when we send it to the subwoofer you'll think well aren't we set well think about it though subwoofers can only play low frequencies which means you're only going to feel bass you're not going to hear the regular sounds that we want to hear so what do we do well thankfully we do have a pretty quick easy solution not too bad we'll need this and something else so this is a splitter aux splitter so we'll continue with ox and now I can go out in two ways by one way out to my subwoofer as was intended so here we are now when I hit play oops foreign you'll see what I mean when I when I press play we're only going to feel bass we're not even going to hear the regular sounds that we want to hear all right so I press play there whoa that's no good we need regular sound so that's why we're going to bring in a speaker now this is just an AUX connecting speaker which is fine it'll do the trick if you need to you can plug into a stereo system want to keep more videos coming well you can help me stay awake with a cup of coffee you can go to buy me a coffee.com slash Simple Cafe or just look right here Below in YouTube with the controls you'll find a super thanks button thank you for your support and I'll see you in the next video hope you get connected
