Pausing is one thing Godot does very well. Having the pause mode clearly marked, I stumbled across the pause command because I was doing an exit command (they both are part of get_tree()) in an example project I'm making.

I'm not learning how to do gdscript but that's all there is to it, the node setting and the pause command.
