How To Change or Add Furniture Legs and Feet to Make Any Furniture Look Mid-Century Modern

hi everyone today i am going to be showing you how i replace the legs on a piece of furniture here is the dresser i'm going to be working on and these legs are just really outdated and need a face lift so i'm going to show you how to remove them and how to replace them with the legs from my website maggiemigall.com let's get started [Music] first thing first thing first thing we're gonna do is pry off the bottom we're using a hammer and a flat head screwdriver and wedging it in there hitting out the hammer and then wedging it off to pry it off go ahead you're going to want to do this from all three sides and then we're actually going to have to go in and cut off this area as well because as you can see it's very thin and we need to attach the legs to the thicker areas right here we are looking at the front of the piece that's turned on its side i'm going to be leaving this jut out piece right here so we can put some wood underneath the base so that there is something to screw those legs into this is just really flimsy as you can tell in here and it's going to go right into where that drawer is right here so i'm going to leave this jet out and we are going to use the circle saw which is not very overwhelming don't worry and we are just going to cut across the top right here in a straight line to make sure everything is even okay can you give a quick demonstration on how to work the circular saw you just push it go for it and we should be wearing safety goggles but we live on the edge well done thanks we are going to add a little bit of depth so these legs have somewhere to go we use wood glue boom and we are going to screw in this extra piece of wood and that is where we are going to put the legs we're going to be doing this on both sides of the dresser to make sure that those legs have somewhere to be screwed into now i'm putting on my new bit and making sure that these are going to be the right size and as you can see they are so i'm going to line it up right here in that hole and then connect the two good and good screw now i have all four new legs ready to go they're very strong they're not budging and now when i flip it back over they will be beautiful can't wait to show the final result [Music] you
