[Music] what is going on miners and welcome back to the hobbyist miner channel so today we're going to go ahead and build this 6 gpu r9 380 mining rig now the focus of this and goal of this mining rig is to build a mining rig that is cheap and affordable with used pre-owned second-hand parts some of this stuff's new but a majority of this is pre-owned parts that being said our focus is going to be speculatively mining shiba so let's go ahead and run through our parts list and run through exact cost of every single thing on this table okay so let's go ahead and talk about power so this aries game 750 watt power supply runs 77.99 on amazon i'll put links everything down below guys this 750 watt hp power supply runs for 33 dollars on amazon our motherboard cpu memory uh power button all of this came out of an hp tower that was a 280 tower business model and that total setup was 50 total we scrapped the rest of that computer moving on our wireless dongle as we will be using this out upstairs in a spare bedroom was 9.99 on amazon we're going to be using two of the aaa wave pci one to four splitters those run for 31.99 each moving on from there we will be using up here delta cooling fans uh and those run for 56.99 on amazon our gpu risers in this video are sponsored by gpurisers.com but you guys can go ahead and buy them if interested on gprisers.com for 79.99 for six that comes with the riser the pci card as well as the usb a to a now our pci cables as well as the splitters do come separately but our pci yellow and black cables with a breakout board run for 51.99 on amazon the y-splitters that you see here run for 49.99 on gpurizers.com the solid state drive that we will be using is from gprisers.com as well at 64 gigabytes and runs for 29.99 and finally for our gpus so i've collected these over a while now use them for all different projects ravencoin lite and now we're going to be using them on sheba these go for on average 150 each so in total our total set up here on the table runs an estimate give or take based off where you're located taxes shipping all that fun stuff oh forgot the forgot our frame so this is a really old vetta frame but i don't recommend it i recommend that you pick up a heloi amazon cheap six to eight gpu frame and if you nab that one on amazon at 65.99 so anyways all that being said our total cost for everything you see on the table is 1380.92 cents now definitely an estimate prices may vary i do have a discount code if you're interested in gpu risers also for the solid state drive and also for the splitters none of that discount code commission comes back to me guys is purely for you guys and you guys can go ahead and use it at checkout it'll save you 10 percent use the code the hobbyist miner and that'll get you 10 percent off so speculative mining if you guys aren't familiar with speculative mining that is the process of mining something now that is super inexpensive easy to mine that hoping one day will blow up that's exactly what we're doing with shiba so let me go ahead and get this process started for the build i am not going to do an entire build video here showing you step by step this is how you plug this in this is how you plug this in if you're interested in that type of video guys i'm going to put a link in the upper right hand corner as well as down below it is a 45-minute step-by-step guide on building an entire gpu rig that is probably most suited for you if you want to skip ahead and get right to how to mine shiba within hive os i'll put another link in the upper right hand corner to that and that will go ahead and direct you guys over to a video that we did just the other week step-by-step guide on how to set up hive os to mine shiba all right let's go ahead and get started in building our six gpu speculative mining shiba rig okay so we're making some good progress here i wanted to go over some snags we ran into or some challenges that we hid here so a few things so because these cards are so small the frame originally you can see here has a hole that had the bar all the way out here and so when i put the cards in they would just completely sag and actually fall directly off the frame so i did end up having to drill a hole through the frame to move this up a little bit so that it supported the cards properly so a frame like this you think it would have a boat load of holes along here to adjust this nope it just had one so we did go ahead and have to do that other than that nothing else too crazy power supply is secured we use these great thumb screws to go ahead and do that we had those we have double sided tape on here this thing is not going anywhere and we left a little gap so we can get our cable in place we have our we did have to take off the plates on our pci one to four splitters that they would fit in here properly so that worked out well uh this is our power button here from the hp tower you guys are gonna love this so this is a rear chassis fan that was in the hp tower and the way these hp motherboards work is that they look for this at boot up and if it's not there it actually forces you to press f1 you can't get around it or anything so instead of having this hanging down i went ahead somebody made a recommendation on another video on this i went ahead and zip tied it to the top of the heatsink fan so now we got double the amount of fans there but hey it's not moving and it's being put to good use which works out well we did mount our solid state drive right here in the back which worked out great on this plate and i did go ahead and secure all of our cables back in here that we would be using these two are going to be used for powering two of the gpus so other than that we're in a really good place my next step is to go ahead and get these installed but if you guys made it this far in the video you guys rock so i am going to be giving away in partnership with gpu risers two six-pack of the gpu risers from gpurisers.com so they retail for about 79.99 and it comes with six total gpu risers the pci cards and the usb cables everything for that we're using here as well will be in there so if you guys are interested and you made it this far in the video awesome good for you i appreciate it please go ahead and smash that thumbs up and hey if you're new and you enjoy the content go ahead and hit that subscribe but the way to enter the gpu risers giveaway we're giving away two boxes to two separate winners go over to my discord i'm gonna put a link down below go in the discord and there's going to be a gpurisers.com giveaway channel go ahead and post okay how to think about it post your favorite superhero in the gprisers.com giveaway channel of my discord and i'm gonna go ahead and in one week pick two of you guys to go ahead and win get you guys one box from gprisers.com alrighty let's go ahead and finish this up i'm going to get the rest of my cabling done and we're going to be ready for our first power up okay so proud to report we've made some really good progress always always more work than what we expect we got our six gpus in here so we didn't really go over what the gpus were so i thought this would be a great opportunity so this is a power color r9 380 another power color r9 380 another power color r9 380 they just have different shroud designs like a red pattern with the black this is an xfx r9 380 and then we have two gigabyte r9 380s as well these are all four gig cards if you guys are interested so perfect for speculative mining so let me go ahead and spin this around real quick okay so no fancy uh cable management as of yet but as you can see some of our cards are just using the six pin or i'm sorry the eight pin and then the six pin into the riser then we also have some of these other cards that do have a six pin and another six pin um so the splitters ended up working out well so we put these four cards on the 750 watt hp server power supply and these two on the 750 watt ares game power supply which is also powering our motherboard there so what is left we do have our delta cooling fans that we are gonna put across the back here um and that's pretty much it uh and then we'll be set and good to go and ready to get this thing fired up and mining so give me a few minutes and i'll get these installed all right guys we are built finally oh my gosh it is like 1 30 in the morning right now i'm not gonna lie um this took 10 times longer than i expected ever i think it's just because everything needs to be a little customized here and there but anyways we're set we're built we're ready to go uh so we have our up here fans uh these are rgb fans you can change them up there's a button in the back uh which is pretty cool so cards are in place r9 380s we are utilizing the hp motherboard with the aaa wave usb 1 to 4 splitters outside of that that's a fan controller back in there if you guys are wondering cable management's not the best but hey it'll go ahead and get us by so once again this is meant to be an inexpensive speculative mining rig the whole point of this is going to be going ahead and building something that yes we know is costing us money and isn't going to make us money today but the value is is long term we're going to try to speculative mine a handful of different coins in this case here this will be sheba that will be mining with this right now not forever but for right now um and yeah it was a fun little project to do excited about it i do need to find a place to put it so these racks i put in place i'm thinking about down here on this one i also have room over on this one i can put it up here that's just our test bench right there and i could put it right up here for right now but we'll have to go ahead and decide but anyways we'll do that another time as for right now let's at least boot this up make sure it boots so we're good there uh let's there we go okay we got lights on those four which makes sense because they're coming from the power supply there these two will not light up until we turn on the rig uh our power button is right over here on the side fancy all right let's try again here oh there we go okay cool so it's firing up and then shutting down there we go she just needed a minute guys she just needed a minute but we are set and good to go we have our six gpu risers all up and running which is awesome uh and uh yeah i'm excited i'm excited i feel like we need to change up the colors here a little bit where's my button here we go let's take a look here red red looks kind of good i feel like we need a yellow to for for sheba there we go we got yellow we got yellow anyways guys hopefully you enjoyed this video uh something quick simple and easy uh once again if you guys are looking for a full gpu mining rig build video i'll put a link in the upper corner and down below for that as well as a video on how exactly to mine chiba within hive os i'm going to go ahead and get this power down throw this in my mining room anyways guys thank you guys very much for watching i'll see you guys next time [Music] this [Music] you
