hello everybody welcome to my new studio my name is yuval ron and in this following series of video tutorials we are going to discuss how to build such a home studio from the floating floor to the isolated walls to the sunproof ceiling we are also going to discuss how to treat the room acoustically so that you can get the most out of your budget and out of your room let's begin by hearing a little audio sample that was made here [Music] so as you can see even such a small project studio can be used for many things recording guitars vocals small instruments mixing and even budgeted mastering and video productions building this home studio was such a great experience for me i learned so much about how to soundproof a room how to treat it acoustically and i even improved my handyman skills however this experience comes with a good deal of sadness um because the partner i had for this project and a friend his name was shiafer and unfortunately he is no longer with us shai went for a run in the park during the period when we worked on the project and experienced a sudden heart failure and died that night of course we were all shocked and appalled and said to hear this news and i'd like to use this moment to say a few things about him so chai was a great guy loved by everyone it was an amazing studio engineer and an audio engineer he was also a very good musician and had many friends and he is a great loss for all of us and before we go on with the first part the first episode which is the floating floor we will hear one of the few parts that chai did manage to narrate introducing the floating floor which is the floor that sits on top of the actual floor and prevents sounds from coming out of the room to the actual floor and then propagated the rest of the building and vice versa so here we go all right hello everyone my name is shai and this is um this is a studio soundproofing project over the next couple of videos we're gonna take this room and turn it into a soundproof studio um gonna build uh what's known as what's known as a rooming room which is isolated from the extender room and yeah i'll try to explain as much as possible all right let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so let's recap and see what we have achieved so far we have layered three layers of rubber on top of the actual floor on top of which we measured designed and built the floating floor frame which is going to contain the rock wool all of this together provides a great soundproofing for the bottom of the room let's see how this is done [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] all right so we got the installation down we got the wooden frame down for the floor we got the rock wall uh filled in the gaps and rockwool next step would be covering it all up with some spam platter whatever that is in english with some plywood i think some plates yeah plywood yeah all right so let's do it [Music] my [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] bye [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so we have most of the floor ready the final thing we need is to cover the floor with chunks of plywood which we are going to measure cut and nail to the frame let's see how it is [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] so that's pretty much it for today we got a lot covered the floating floor is the base for everything else which is going to come in the coming episodes uh the walls the ceiling the covers and of course the acoustics uh so stay tuned with us don't forget to subscribe to my channel and to my mailing list and i'll see you in the next episode [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you
