How to backup iPhone Directly to External Drive in macOS Sonoma

by defaults with Mac we are unable to backup iPhone or iPad directly to external drive in this video we are going to learn how to backup iPad or iPhone directly to an external drive for me my Mac is just 128 or 256 GB so I do not want to waste it to just store iPhone backup it is very easy process I am just going to link the default backup location with my external drive as we dive into today's video I want to take a quick moment to thank all of you who have been subscribing and engaging with the videos your support means world to me and it is what keeps this channel going let's see here my external hard dis is connected and it is called as hcp I'm going to create a folder here and name it backup it is very important to name the folder backup with capital B you can place this backup folder in any other folder of your choice if you back up with default settings it will back up iPhone to default location which is in your MC to operating system Drive [Music] to find the backup location you need to go finder then go to folder type till for/ Library [Music] then find the application support mobile sync folder this is the default backup location and this one is the where I want to store backup that is external [Music] drive now open Terminal and type Ln space minus s then drag the destination backup folder from the external drive and drag again the default mobile sync folder and hit enter that's all it's set to [Music] [Music] go and if you are getting error like this terminal want to access or something like that then go to system settings then privacy and security full disc access and allow it for terminal in case if you want to revert back then just delete backup shortcuts from the default location and it will automatically go to default settings that's [Music] all that's all thanks for watching thank you for being a part of the Mac to iPhone family bye-bye
