hey guys soccer from sake ticket in today's we're gonna show you guys how to backup and restore your Samsung smartphone now I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note m+ here but the same tip applies to any other samsung smartphone so let's dive in and discover how to backup and also restore your Samsung smart phone so the reasons to backup your data obviously is to not lose any data in case your phone breaks down or if you lose your phone you could lose all the information so when I made sure at all times everything all your documents photos videos or call history contacts all that stuff including messages is in fact back up so the very first thing that you want to do is you want to go to your settings alright and then you want to scroll down to where it says accounts and backup you tap on that and then what you do is you go to backup and restore now when you go inside here I do want to let you know that there's going to be two sections so you have to make sure you keep them separate you have a Samsung backup and you have a Google backup I do recommend doing both of these but of course I'm gonna be talking about the Samsung backup and I'll give you a quick comment on the Google account backup as well because they both work together to give you a full and complete backup all right to accomplish the Samsung backup you obviously the Samsung account so if you don't have one make sure you enable it and of course when you go inside here and if you don't have one it's gonna prompt you to create a brand new Samsung Account so this is going to be very simple as you can see over here you have the option to backup the phone which is gonna backup everything it's gonna back up the call history it's gonna back up all your settings in your phone and then you can backup all your text messages as well so all your conversations everything's gonna be backed up and of course you want to backup your contacts which is very important and then you can backup your calendar your clock the settings on your phone so if you have any special settings enabled in your phone you can back that up and restore that later if you set your phone or buy a brand new smartphone this is a fantastic option and then you can back up your Bixby home your home screen so with the home screen basically if you go to my home screen you'll notice that it is set up a certain way okay I haven't set up a certain way I've got all these folders over here so when you do a backup of the home screen it saves everything including the wallpaper the exact way the phone looks the widgets everything's gonna be backed up so that's also a very good option and then you want to backup all the apps that you have downloaded and of course we have any documents or music you can back those as well so once you're done you can select and I'll select the portions you don't want to backup so I don't care about Bixby home I'm not gonna back that up when you're done you tap them back up starts the backup process you can always tap on this button here tap on more information gives you detailed information of what is exactly being backed up okay if you're into details but once you back this up you're done make sure you do this all the time to make sure everything is backed up properly under accounts and backup let's go to backup and restore and then basically if you lose your phone if you if it stops working this is a great way because look you cannot you do have the option when you buy a brand new phone to transfer data from one phone to the other one okay that's great but if you lose your phone or if the phone is broken you cannot do the transfer that's when you need a backup so when you get the new phone you simply restore from a Samsung back up now real quick with the Google Account my backup account right here is at gmail.com and I backed up all my data now I do want to let you know make sure you do this because it does save some very useful information as you can see here it backs up your Wi-Fi passwords and also backs up specific settings in individual apps which is very important so if you have configured an application if you've been using it for a long while sometimes when you reset that it's a pain in the ass to redo the whole app again your standards with this one it will also back up app data and also your Wi-Fi passwords of course you have all these options can take a look at it okay just enable this and enable it under a specific Google account of your choosing and certainly choose the auto restore option so when you are setting up a brand new phone as soon as you log into that account into that Google account on the new phone it is going to perform the restoration function all right that's that right so we have backed up most of these things now one thing that you want to also backup is your gallery and I'll let you know right now you're not gonna be able to back up to the gallery from here but you can do it from the actual gallery application so what you want to do is this is for the photos and videos you tap on gallery alright you tap on this button here and then you go into the actual settings when once you're there all you do is sync with Samson cloud again you have to have your Google I'm sorry your Samsung Account to accomplish this so if this is disabled I'm not gonna do it right now you're just gonna enable it and it's gonna sync all your photos to the Samsung cloud tap on this one right here you get some details don't worry about image analysis the trash and all that stuff just make sure you have it enabled to sync now as you can see I have 2530 not 36 images backed up and videos so I can access these on any other samsung device or if I lose the phone I can restore them and I'll let you know one more thing very important you can also with the newer updates switch to onedrive backup onedrive is Microsoft Dropbox so if you want you can tap on this one and it's tough using samsung cloud you get to use Microsoft onedrive if that's like if that's something you're looking for if you're a Microsoft guy you got a bunch of markers of laptops you can do that as well okay but let me go back here real quick I want to show you one more thing in the settings when you are in the backup and restore option you can always go to your sand in cloud okay and check how much you have free space every single person that buys or creates a Samsung Account gets 15 gigabytes of storage in the cloud okay so that's gonna be free and and you can check from here I'm using a hundred percent of my storage you'll probably see something like 5 percent 10 percent 25 percent and when you tap on this right here it'll give you a breakdown of the way things are up saved so I'll show you okay so my other sink data my Samsung Cloud Drive device backups most of my backups are my photos so make sure you can come and you can take a look at the details of your backup right from here all right so that's it that's basically it just a quick summary go to the Settings accounts backup the most important thing to do is go to backup and restore and do a Sam Soon backup and also Google backup and then you do a gallery backup right from here okay so all your information is backed up and ready to restore when you buy a brand new phone or like I said if you lose your phone or if it breaks down alright so if your do any questions comments or concerns drop them down below and let me know for now guys have a fantastic day alright alright so if you found this video useful make sure to subscribe to sake tech by clicking that button and also
