How to automatically forward all emails from Gmail to an AOL email account

welcome to woggle guides in this guide i'll show you how to automatically forward emails to an aol email account from gmail let's get straight into it adding a forwarding address for yahoo is a two-step process in gmail firstly we need to actually verify the forwarding address so gmail recognizes it and then we need to switch on the auto forwarding rule in gmail i'm logged into google and i'm in my gmail inbox we need to go into the settings section in gmail to firstly add the forwarding address to do this i'll move my mouse to the top right of the gmail inbox you'll see there's a number of icons shown here but the one i'm interested in is the cog or gear icon for the settings section let's click on that a panel then opens that shows some of the more common settings changes you can make in gmail but we need to go into the detail settings of gmail so i'm going to click on the co settings button at the top of the panel a new window then opens showing a number of headings tabs but the one we're interested in is the forwarding and popeye map tab at the top of this tab is the forwarding section in this area you'll see there's an option to add a forwarding address let's click on that button a pop-up window then appears that asks you to enter the forwarding email address you want the emails received in your gmail inbox to be sent to i'm going to add my aol email address here once you've entered the address you want to forward emails to click on the next button to continue a new pop-up box then appears that asks you to confirm that you want to forward your gmail emails to the aol address you've entered click on the receive button to approve this gmail will then send a confirmation code to your aol email inbox to verify that the email address can be used to forward emails to i'll close this confirmation box by clicking on the large blue ok button and you can see on the settings page that the email address we've entered has been added to the forwarding section but it is not yet verified when i open my aol email account you'll see an email has been received from the gmail team if i click into that email a confirmation code is shown which we can add directly into the settings page however i'm going to click on the link shown above a new gmail page then opens i'll click on the confirm button a message is then shown to confirm that emails from my gmail account will now be automatically forwarded to aol if i now return to the settings page in gmail you'll see that the aol email address we confirmed has now been added as a choice in the forwarding section of settings the forwarding rule is still disabled however to forward on all emails that are sent to your gmail inbox we need to choose the option to forward a copy of the incoming mail to the aol email address i can do this by firstly clicking in the round button next to that option and then making sure that my aol email address is chosen in the first drop down box we then need to decide what gmail should do with the emails it receives once it has forwarded them to aol if i click on the second drop down in this area four options are shown for this you can choose to keep a copy of the email in your gmail inbox but leave it as unread so effectively do nothing with it you can alternatively choose to automatically mark the email in gmail as read but still leave it in the inbox the next option is to automatically archive the email this can help to save storage space if you don't think you'll be visiting your gmail account very often the final option in this list gives you the choice to simply delete the email in gmail once it has been forwarded to your aol inbox if you want to keep your gmail inbox tidy and are sure you won't need to keep a copy of the emails then choose this option once you're happy with your forwarding choices scroll down to the bottom of this page and choose the save changes button to confirm them we are then returned to the inbox and you'll see that a notice appears at the top of the page confirming that the emails are now being forwarded this is a security feature and will remain on the account for seven days and to confirm that the forwarding rule is working you'll see that when i now receive a new email in gmail if i then quickly open my aol email account then that same email is automatically received in my aol inbox i hope you found this logo guide useful and learn something new if you have please like and subscribe for free so that you can find out when new guides are available thanks for watching
