So in all the industries, be it the health industry, IT industry, finance industry, there is a shortage of skilled workers in many industries. So that's why the UK recruiters or employers are trying to recruit skilled workers from abroad. The second reason is flexibility. In Skilled Worker Visa, there are different employment options and professions where you can take jobs. So there are not specific employment options. There is a whole list of jobs. If you apply for any of them, you can get a Skilled Worker Visa. The third and most important reason is long-term opportunities. If you come on Skilled Worker Visa, you will get a 3-year visa and a 5-year visa. So basically, if you stay on Skilled Worker Visa for 5 years, you can apply for PR. Secondly, there is a minimum skill level here, RQF level 3. Thirdly, the language requirement here, in English speaking, writing, listening, and this IELTS test or SCLT test, basically you need to pass the English test up to level B1. You need to pass the English test up to level B1 through SCLT. Or if you have a degree from UK or if you have a degree in English in India, then you need to get it approved through UK NAREC. So you need to fulfill this English language requirement. Along with that, maintenance funds. Along with this, LinkedIn is the most popular. All my friends who have come here on a skilled worker visa, their selection has been done through LinkedIn. They applied for jobs through LinkedIn. So you can search for jobs on LinkedIn. There are engagement partners in some companies. You can contact them. You can send a cold email that how are you approaching them. And you make a template, so that whenever you approach them, you send them a good template. If you are applying for any job, then clearly mention there that I am applying for this job. If you can refer me to this position. You can apply for a job through LinkedIn. Hopefully, if you get selected from there, you will get a cost letter, which is a certificate of sponsorship. The next requirement is the minimum salary. If we talk about the minimum salary, then you should get 26,200 pounds.
This should be your yearly salary. Or if an employer is giving you on an hourly basis, then you should get 10.75 pounds per hour salary. Or going rate. Going rate means, if you are applying for any job, then what is the going rate in the market. For example, data analyst. If the going rate of a data analyst is 30,000, then your 26,000 salary will not be applied. You will need a minimum salary of 30,000. So, this is basically the going rate. So, this is a minimum salary requirement, which you have to fulfill whenever you apply for a skilled worker visa. Along with this, the next eligibility criteria or the next step whenever you apply for a job, you have to check the eligible occupation list or the skilled occupation list. The eligible occupation list is where a lot of jobs are listed. You can find a job in this list. And all these are eligible. If you get a job from any of these, then you can get a skilled worker visa. The shortage occupation list is where there is a shortage. So, if you have a skill or if you are already working in a profession which is listed in the shortage occupation list, then it becomes very easy for you to get a job here. Because there is already a shortage of jobs here. So, you can already check these two lists. Eligible occupation list and shortage occupation list. Now, the next step is knowledge of English. A lot of people ask us that do you have an English requirement for a skilled worker visa to come to the UK? Yes, you do. You have to give a minimum level B1 test if you don't have any English language qualification. So, basically, through SELT, there are a lot of approved providers here. You can go to the UK government website and see that there are approved providers from Comco. If you are applying from outside the UK, then you will have to give an English test from there. And it is not very difficult. It is a very easy test. So, there is no need to worry. If you are applying for a job here and if you are going to give an interview to any employer, if you have cleared the interview, that means you already know that much English. So, you don't have to worry about the English test. You can easily pass the English test. Along with this, if you have a degree, for example, you have done schooling from the UK, then definitely you will not have to give an English test. If you have done any education in India or in your home country, which is in English, then you have to get an application from an Actis, which is known as UK NERIC. After that, you don't have to give an English test. So, this is basically the criteria of the language. You will have to fulfill the requirements of the English test. Now, let's talk about the documents you will need to apply. Basically, the first document is your certificate of sponsorship. Whenever you take a job here, you will get a cost letter. In that, your job title will be written, salary will be written. Along with that, you will have an occupation code written. Sponsor license number will be written. So, all these things will take your visa application time. Along with this, knowledge of English test. So, you will have to provide a proof. If you have passed an exam or if you have verified your document through Actis, then you will have to give a proof. Along with this, you will have to give a TB test. Whenever you apply for a visa for the UK, which is more than 6 months, which is basically a tourist visa of 6 months, it is more than that, then you have to give a TB test. So that people can check that any person coming to their country does not have TB. Along with that, you will need a valid passport to apply for this visa. Along with that, there are some documents that you have to apply additionally.
Like proof of funds, you will have to apply for your bank statement. If your dependents, spouse or kids are coming together, then you will have to apply for their documents. And you may have to prove, apply for marriage certificate, apply for childbirth certificate. So you will need all these documents if your dependents are coming together.
Along with this, if you are taking a job in any profession, for example, education, healthcare, social service, then you will need a criminal record of that profession. If you are not taking a job in this profession, for example, if you are working in IT or looking for a job in a different automotive, then you do not need to take a criminal record from India. Obviously, definitely the UK will check, reference check that there is no criminal record there. But you do not need to get any such letter from there. Now, the most important question we have is how much does it cost? For example, you take a job here through any A-rated employer. If the employer is sponsoring everything, then you do not need to worry because many times, there are tie-ups with the solicitor. The solicitor will only ask for documentation from you. After that, he will do the whole process himself. But in case you have to apply here yourself, then how much will it cost? First of all, you will have to pay the application fees, which is between 625 to around 1423 pounds. You have to pay IHS fees which is 625 pounds per year. If you are applying for a 3-year visa, multiply it by 3. If you are applying for a 5-year visa, multiply it by 5. IHS means Immigration Health Surcharge. This is the cost of health care services when you are applying for a visa. You have to show 1270 pounds in your account. If your company is covering this cost, you don't have to show it. If your company is not covering this cost, you have to show 1270 pounds in your account. If your dependents are coming with you, you have to pay some additional costs. If your partner and children are coming with you, they have to apply for a separate application. They have to pay IHS charges for the application. If you are coming for 3 months, husband, wife and kids, you have to pay separate charges for husband, wife and kids. You have to pay separate charges for all three applications. You have to show maintenance funds for your partner, child and dependents. In many cases, the employer covers all the charges. If an employer is recruiting you, he will cover all the charges. If he doesn't cover all the charges, you have to show maintenance funds in your bank account. Your bank account statement should be valid for the last 28 days. Once you apply for a visa, you have to go to the VFS center and get a biometric appointment. You have to give fingerprints of all your applicants and click a biometric photo.
