How to Adjust an A&L Sliding Door

before you begin make sure you're wearing the right safety gear for the site you are working on and tools you are using there are many reasons a product may need adjusting the house may have settled over time the rollers may have worn a little or the original installation may have been slightly out all of our sliding door panels have adjustment allowance in the rolls the tools you will need are a drill with Phillips head bit a Philips head screwdriver and a second pair of hands depending on the size and weight of the product to begin visually inspect the product from the inside of the house to see what the difference is in the top and bottom of the gap between the leading panel and the frame if a panel looks crooked take note of which side needs to be raised or lowered to square it back up to perform the adjustment simply lift the panel on the side in question to access the slot at the very bottom place your screwdriver into the slot and turn the screw to adjust the rollers on that side turn your screwdriver clockwise to raise that side of the panel or anti-clockwise to lower it's a good idea to raise the rollers on both sides of the panel slightly to insure the washer that locks the rollers into position is set high enough to avoid scraping on the sill lower the panel back down and check how it operates adjust again if required for an entertainer sliding door you may need to adjust the center panel inspect the overlap between the fixed panel and the center panel to determine the adjustment required using your drill unscrew and remove the door stops from the bottom of the panel then follow the same procedure of lifting the panel and adjusting the rollers as required to access the leading side of the center panel you will need to work from the outside of the house once happy with the doors operation reattach the door stops close the door and check the alignment of the handle against the striker plate if the striker plate requires adjusting please refer to our video how to adjust an A & L sliding door of striker plate
