i want to make stuff stand out add a drop shadow just do this so we have our two elements here we have the background that we're going to use and the object me that we're going to put the drop shadow behind so we're going to grab the fuzzy select tool we're just going to crop the object out of the picture well edit uh and copy it right click edit copy [Music] come over to the background or you'll right click edit paste and grab your unified transform tool and just change this thing size so it's not so big now bring us down a little bit put it where you want it come up to layer add it to a new layer once you're at this point you can come up to filters come down to light and shadow come down to drop shadow and see the opacity here you can make it lighter or darker depending on how you have it set you can also change the blur radius and the grow radius once you have the levels adjusted to where you want them go ahead and hit ok and there you have it the drop shadow thanks for watching if you learned something or enjoyed this video like and subscribe i stream every monday wednesday and friday on twitch feel free to pop in and ask me some questions i'll see you next time
