[Music] hey babes in today's video i'm going to be showing you how to do a half up half down bob style with loose curl hair so now i'm actually just going in and making a small section for my ponytail my goal was to have more hair than i do my ponytail so make sure that you section off a small but decent size section for the ponytail area so after you've done your sectioning for your ponytail you should have enough in the front that way your hair is going to be brought all the way to the sides now we're just going to put the rest into a slick back ponytail i am actually going to be using pro style super hold gel and my large rubber bands and i'm just going to apply that all over my ponytail in the back and we're just going to get it nice and slick and this is going to be used as a protective barrier this is a really old school method i just thought i'd try it because i just didn't feel like doing my liquid cap and i just want to try it so why not make sure that when you blow dry it that it is nice and hard i'm going to be going in with a stocking cap just one and with my got to be spray of course gotta have that got to be sprayed as an extra barrier i'm gonna spray that all the way around the cap just on the part where i have that ponytail in the back if you have a hair dryer i highly suggest that you sit under one if not just make sure that you have a strong blow dryer to really make sure that this is nice and hard so this is what it looks like still have that ponytail in the back the hair that i use you will not see that it's not going to look bumpy or anything keep the ponytail now going in with my purple pack loose curl hair it's from their long series this video is not sponsored by the way um it comes with three pieces and i use two packs i use a total of five bundles for this hairstyle so i like to double up my tracks keep it double when i unravel and sometimes single that is optional so like i did in my ver my other video i'm just going to be bringing that all the way over to where i see my part is and you want to place it right on the part so you're going to curve and curve and bring that around until it gets smaller towards the top i'm doing different angles so that you can really be able to see what it looks like in the back um when you cut and you realize that some pieces are shorter i just went ahead and just applied those to the back and then you'll get your new bundles and do the whole curving method from one side to the other so i'm literally bringing that from one side to the other the way this cap is made it is see-through so you can see exactly where you need to stop when you're applying your tracks so as you're curving you should be getting smaller and smaller with your tracks as you get to the top you'll wind up just being able to go straight across the back where your last track will need to be [Music] placed [Music] and now i'm just going to cut off that excess cap all the way around and as you can see i'm as i'm cutting honestly it's like you can't even see where the tracks are placed so make sure that you're placing your tracks and you're curving them and that they're being able to be overlapped to where you can honestly create an invisible part with this method [Music] [Music] and now going in with my favorite edge effect level 5 extreme hold i'm going to be applying that around the perimeter of my ponytail and then i'm going to comb it out and make sure that all the product is blended thoroughly into my hair and then we're just going to create a nice slick ponytail you can use a rat tail wide tooth comb or you can use a brush just make sure that that product is combed through because it will turn white and it's not going to look cute if you do experience some white don't freak out just use some oil sheen going in a couple times with three rubber bands at a time i'll be using my large rubber bands to create a firm and secure ponytail using larger rubber bands are better than using the traditional small ones because they are not um as painful when you're creating a really firm ponytail so it helps to avoid a lot of tension and now i'm just going to bring my ponytail down and we're going to secure the end of my braid with a rubber band [Music] now i'm going to be using two of my large strips and i'm going to actually fold that to make it even firmer and tighter when i wrap it around the ponytail i'm doing this because using two strips folded helps to create a really firm ponytail and helps you to pretty much bend it where you want it to go without it being really heavy on the head when you apply your tracks and then i'm just gonna secure it with some glue and i'm just gonna blow dry make sure that it's nice and dry and we're going to go ahead and start our process of our ponytail i'm just going to apply some more rubber bands onto the paper just to make sure that it is nice and secure going in with the last bit that i have for my last bundle i'm just going to apply some on the tracks and we're going to start it off by wrapping around and then you're going to apply glue towards the front of the ponytail you don't have to now going in with one full fresh bundle we're going to put this whole thing try to get as close as possible so that way you can get a really full [Music] ponytail [Music] so now we're just going to grab some from the very back and we're going to just comb it through [Music] get it nice and slick and then we're gonna spray some got to be spray and just wrap that baby around just keep wrapping [Music] we're going to spray it some more and then just going to blow dry hold it in place and this is what's going to seal it going in with my dark edge control natural black by even i'm actually going to mix that with some of my edge effect and we're just going to fill in those edges and just really get the look that you're going for this is optional um i had some so i was like why not you know put it on my edges so we're just going to mix that up comb it through and slick our edges never put tracks on your edges people even with this hairstyle if you are doing this right now do not put no don't put tracks on your edges okay it's not healthy it's not good to do we want to take care of our hair so you got your color and then on top of that you got extra security with that edge effect i love edge effect it's a really nice hold it lasts for days and it doesn't build up all right ladies this is the finished look this was a 20 hairstyle each pack was 9.99 at my local beauty supply i'll have all the
