hey friends I feel so happy today and you know why because I am heading all the way to the tropical forests of Africa to catch one of your closest relatives I know you must be wondering but I don't have any relatives in the woods of Africa well think again friends because there is one link that binds all humans together and that link is none other than an intelligent creature known as the chimpanzee so today let us learn about these great apes and try to brace the gap between you and the chimpanzees zoom-in chimpanzees live in the tropical forests and woodland savannas of West and Central Africa they are a part of the home in native family also known as the great apes that consists of gorillas orangutangs and even humans and like humans chimpanzees live in communities these communities are made up of somewhere around 15 to 80 members led by a bossy alpha male who controls the group and maintains order during disputes chimpanzees are experts and grooming and spend a lot of their time running their fingers through each other's hair to remove dirt dead skin and annoying parasites well I know it might sound a bit gross to you but grooming is a super important activity for these amazing creatures it not only keeps them neat and clean but helps them build their friendships and strengthen bonds with each other too thank goodness that's one thing humans don't have in common with chimps just imagine your friend running their hands over your head that could be really annoying isn't it but don't get misled by their monkey business after humans chimpanzees are the most intelligent of our planet's primates and have developed impressive ways of communicating with each other by using different gestures facial expressions and numerous vocalizations - such as hoots grunts and screams not only that they can learn words play with objects and toys and even seem to mourn the deaths of their loved ones these motives are one of the few animals that use tools to help them acquire food and get things done like cracking nuts with rocks pulling out insects from nests and logs using sticks and holding up leaves like umbrellas to shelter from the rain now that's impressive trivia time did you know that the DNA of chimps and humans is 98.5 percent the same that's how closely related you and the chimps are as a result you share many similar traits with them such as expressive faces big toes thumbs and hands that can grasp we also show similar behaviors and like us chimps laugh when playing hug to show affection and can walk upright so in conclusion if someone calls you an ape next time you can proudly tell them that we all are it's question time so friends today's question is chimpanzees are part of which family to write your answer in the comment section below and hit the like button and most importantly subscribe to our channel if you haven't yet to be a part of the peekaboo family and to learn fun and exciting things about your favorite topic until next time it's doctor by Knox zooming out never mind hey kids you liked my videos didn't you before you go don't forget to click on the subscribe button and the bell so you won't miss out on my latest videos hahaha see you
