primarily what you're talking about is you know what we would call the Apocrypha um which are our books often within the inner testamental period between the Old Testament New Testament yeah um that speak to what we would call and some of them are what we would call Book of Enoch book of you know there are some that are that are have been somewhat proven discredited in their authenticity yeah and what I mean by that is they are books from that era but they were not written by the person that claims authorship so those are rejected many times because there's an inability to authenticate authorship who really wrote this right you know you can you can it has been within you know definable reason you know yeah you know books of the Bible says I Paul you know like okay well Paul wrote this and there's some discussion at times about like well did Paul dictate it or did he write it and I don't think that is essential necessarily um but so a lot of what has been um rejected in terms of the Apocrypha and again within the Catholic Church they they have a lot they have the Apocrypha built in and so um and I would say this um those can be good books accurate books you know useful books uh there's a lot of there's a lot of Paul's writing that actually reflects even the Book of Enoch um but the difference is is it inspired by the Holy Spirit well how do you determine what is and what isn't well um that's where the Canon and the Canon literally means the measurement of scripture so the the early Apostolic fathers began this process that took years wasn't overnight wasn't Five Guys in the room like I like this one I don't like there was question of of accuracy authorship the right time frame was it written in the time that it would have been and all this is sort of a scientific if you will that's I use that term very Loosely but more of an evidence-based approach that says here's all of the measure of what would what would authenticate scripture and these books fit it and these books do not yeah and so um again I would treat those like the peripheral issues and go if I want I've I've read the I own the Book of Enoch read The Book of Enoch I think it has some very interesting thoughts into it yeah but I don't wait it the same level as I would scripture and so I think that's the important piece of there's a lot of there's a lot of second test Temple literature um that is very helpful in understanding cultures and understanding because like I said Paul quotes things you'll go to book Enoch like oh that's straight out of that but it was it had become a part of the Jewish culture yeah um and so when Paul is now using it under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit just like he did me with the Athens and he used their culturally acceptable worship of gods to present to them the unknown god um in the god of the universe Yahweh you know and so who gave his son Jesus and and then when he got to the point of Resurrection everybody flipped out cuz they're like you know they think that the physical body is is you know worthless and evil and the spirit is only worth so why would you want to come back to a physical body and they didn't you know so yeah so I would just say this um you know I would ultimately trust that um that number one Jesus said my heaven and Earth shall pass away my words shall never pass away not one one tea will be uncrossed not one ey will be undotted there is a superintending of the Holy Spirit over this process I believe yeah um that we have to trust and have faith in um and then there's a practical process of the Canon by which you know early church fathers and Absol fathers began this process of determining what fits yeah what's what what's authentic what can be validated what can be identified you know what's the right time frames what's the right messaging what is you you know what I mean if someone if it starts becoming clear off because some of this when you get into the you know the book of macbes and and different books that are written in the inner testamental of the Apocrypha it's a lot to do with you know that's post you know it's it's it a lot of it goes all the way up into like post um you know the the Romans the 7 ad and the Romans and it's a lot of the fighting you know what I mean and those are good history books maybe but doesn't make them scripture yeah and so just like today someone can write a great book that has a great great biblical Revelation to it right but it's got to be found it's not scripture it's not to be held you know I don't study a John B book like study the Book of John you know what I mean and though he uses a very biblical approach to everything he says there are still some things that are right illustrative and you know his perspective that I wouldn't so I think that's where I would you know I don't wait them as same as the Canon of scripture yeah um and um and and the value that they bring to us and I believe that God's going to make sure and that his word would not pass away that we have everything we need yeah to live this out so I don't have a problem with somebody reading that I mean a lot of my schooling we've read a lot of that stuff and studied inter testamental and and second century second temple you know era and and seen how it plays into culture and you know nothing was written in a vacuum I mean the Holy Spirit used what was there and inspired and led us along yeah um and so I think that's I think sometimes we have this idea like it's just they went into a room and just forgot everything they knew and the Holy Spirit just just like speaking in tongues he grabbed you and made you and it was like no he just LED them in this process to to inspire them to just write down what they were given and I think their personalities come out right I think their I think their development comes out over time even in this but it's still inspired by the Holy Spirit you know what Paul tells Timothy to teach us correct us reproof us uh train us and equip us
