HOW MUCH ARE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WORTH? WHERE TO FIND PRICING & CODES

what's up guys it's me paul with the senko towing so right now i'm about to show you guys two different catalytic converters um i know people been asking me for this video right here and here it is so this one right here is a manifold cat this is on a lot of vehicles um that have a manifold count on them and usually it comes obviously like this goes to the exhaust manifold connects on as a catalytic converter that goes through the exhaust pipe and from there it goes down to a bare loaf cat which is what they call it which is the bottom cap and this one right here hangs on the bottom like that usually you see them on all cars and yeah so this one's off of a gm vehicle this one is off of a kia hyundai you know vehicle pretty much the same kind and so yeah so you know how much are they worth they all depend on the on the vehicle they come off of and they all depend on the on the numbers so every single vehicle has different catalytic converters and every single one has different numbers so this one came off of a suburban now every suburban they have uh you know it can they can have the exact same year making model and these can be two different cats on them two different codes meaning that this one has dakotas right here so it's two five one seven seven seven three five the other one can have a two five one seventy thirty it just depends exactly on uh you know on the who you know what decided with who they decided to put the cat on so as this one right here this one is the code is right here it's pretty simple on these hondas this one's a k08b now how much are they worth this one right here i looked on my app on my phone and before the market it was like 671 now the market on uh online is about like six six or nine or something like that so the market goes up and down weekly so there is no guaranteed price on these they can go up tomorrow they can drop down to like 540 530 they could drop down any 500 it all depends on every single vehicle and it all depends on how the market fluctuates so what makes these really worth anything really so right here inside here you can see that little light right there there's like a honeycomb looking shape right there inside of these this is what has the three um i guess you would call like ingredients i don't know it says rhodium palladium and platinum in it so what those are you know same like gold they all fluctuate on prices and they are what makes this whole entire piece itself worth money so if you go in you can't really tell but that's how you can see if the cat is full or empty so yeah you can always stick a hanger in there or if you have the vehicle the junk vehicle an oil dipstick you'll be able to push something in there and you can feel it and you'll be able to hit if you hit something it's obviously full if you don't hit nothing and you go all the way through more and likely 9 out of 10 it's empty and you know you shouldn't take it off so the main thing you do is like you see right here take off the o2 sensor stick something in there and you'll be able to feel before you even take this off that's that's the golden rule for all people who buy cats is to take them off stick something in there quick to see if it's empty because you would hate to take all these bolts off go through hell and back sometimes they're all a lot of them are hard and easy take cut this off with the blade waste your blade waste not only your time but also cut the cut off and the car is useless after that so yeah so uh that's pretty much what makes these worth it and uh you know that's so on this vehicle right here i picked it up for let's say it was a kia forte i believe i picked it up for 300 and now it's worth uh you know i picked up the vehicle for 300 uh i had two catalytic converters on there it was this one was worth like 691 when i first got it 671 and the other one was worth uh i think like 500 something dollars so all together i made 1100 took the car back to the junkyard and got my 300 back they usually give you like 300 for cars without catalytic converters this car right here it was a chevy suburban i got two of these right here they're worth like you know on when i i already got them hedged i already got them you know pre-priced when the market was higher there were 391 got two of them so they're worth like almost like uh like 800 like 792 or something like that and i got the car for 200 took it to the junkyard got the car you know i got 400 off the car it was suburban and then i also got a 800 bucks so you know i came up on a thousand dollars so this one i profited a thousand on this suburban and i profited literally like 1100 on this uh kia forte so on both vehicles instead of me trying to sell them flip them and do all other stuff just cut them off get my money and go it's all about volume you know you wanna get yourself a nice little car trailer you know i have this car trailer right here get yourself you know so a little bit then you're like a few hundred bucks started making this money cutting these cats off and um yeah so i'm making my own group on here join the group so we can uh so i can able to show you guys you know people who want to help who want to learn about it more want to learn which cats are worth more money which ones aren't worth it you know how to look for aftermarkets because aftermarkets only are like they only give you like 25 bucks and they're not worth taking off on a vehicle you will take it off and be just very disappointed and the vehicles no longer has its value you'll make more money keeping the cats on there and taking it to the junkyard then cutting that cat off and later on finding out it's worth nothing so you have to be educated in this market in order to make money you have to understand the concept of it you got to have you got to know what numbers are worth it you got to have an app in order to look up the numbers that can post a good app on here that i you know go through everybody's different everybody has their own personal apps you know they have their own politics and their own uh types of apps they like to use you know some people favor other companies over the other that's fine the whole point of it is don't worry about all that just get an app that works best for you an app that keeps up with the market and an app that at an end of the day brings money to your wallet and a good loyal buyer so yeah so with that being said once again it's the manifold cat that's a bread loaf cat and these two right here will make you some good
