How many Mutual Funds should I have in my Portfolio?

so a common question that beginners like me have is how many fun Should I have in my portfolio of course there is no magic number here but if we think logically a well-diversified portfolio should have three Assets in them equities debt and gold now everyone thinks differently and if you leave it to me I think I'll have a total of seven primary funds in my portfolio I'll have four Equity Funds so one large cap one mid one small and one international fund and if you want to save taxes then you can have an elss fund as well I also invest in one gold fund and also in two debt funds one of which will be a liquid or money market fund while the other will be a short duration fund of course it's important to define the proportion as well so mine will have 25 percent in large and 12 percent in mid small and international say about five percent in gold and the rest will go into those two debt funds so that's how I would have designed my portfolio
