he's gonna charge learn [Applause] [Music] [Applause] day two in Zambia begins I'm on my way now to the train station which is in the town of new copy Reema pushy about two and a half hours up the road if I have my information correct from there any catch these are railway all the way to Dar Salaam Tanzania that trip should take about 50 to 60 hours and it's about an 1800 kilometres wreck through the heart of Africa I'll put an image up here so you guys can see this should be an incredible journey I've heard nothing but good things about the train not so much of a comfort but about the experience it should be an amazing adventure on my way to the train station let's go [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so this is the Kilimanjaro Express up to dar Salam tens in the end just about the board is very chaotic getting the ticket they'd only take kwacha and I only had US dollars left on me but I just find something to change my money had a pretty horrible rate but that said I got the ticket in hand and ready to board first class we'll see what that entails I believe I have an upper bunk which is not ideal but that's what you get when you get to the train station twenty minutes before departure anyway let's go to Tanzania [Music] we [Music] I'm sure my yes Father [Music] amenities rise the trade is actually quite luxurious not included but to be honest looks a plate of chicken rice Reyes also [Music] [Music] I am definitely enjoying my time here so far the bathrooms are relatively clean by the looks of it the earth squat toilets so it is my goal to never use one around the dining car full-service restaurant boards [Music] he's got the amenities for being in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Africa all here on board is actually from Tanzania there's other compartments [Music] the way to travel between this out [Music] today's to change strangest way cat meows around $2 very reasonable prices on horse again appreciate here what more can you ask for be comfortable with that they gave the vetting look relative you don't have a change we are traveling nice border right now which is get aboard just make sure these go make sure you take care of yourself to make sure your [Music] experience so far my expectations reading this trip my a single train so this is actually Tanzania has been someone inspired by California they have outlawed plastic bags so you will be prosecuted if you have any so I'm not sure what to do with the ones I have for up stuff in the bathroom you do what you do got a do I suppose [Music] [Music] safe journey thank you very much thank you I like this trip too it's great to hang out with some cool people this is probably the world's dirtiest pillow it is completely saturated with grime sweat and dust probably never been cleaned and it stinks [Music] [Music] throw rocks at us I guess it's not the friendliest village that I've encountered so far in this trip [Music] this is probably one of the more lively stops that we've been out here a lot of quote and some corn on the cob right there and randomly enough that looks like bok choy almost masiva tomatoes so they're just going back and forth from one car to the other some bananas coming our way no carry they're kind of slang cute baby [Applause] [Music] our nerving experiences train travel is between two carriages especially when those terraces are swaying series Froelich you would not believe I've never seen this before in any other train [Music] look at me isn't a park bride I'm sorry we got funhouse after 24 hours on the train we finally reached the Tanzanian border at the town of nakhon Dayton Duma [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] they're just crossed into Tanzania I'm $50 poor at this point we are running about six hours late so looks like it's about 4:30 5 o'clock in the afternoon right now we were supposed to cross the border at 9:30 in the morning that's been quite the adventure we're probably gonna get into Darussalam about midnight tomorrow by the looks of it hopefully it'll be earlier than that take a look around this beautiful cabin of ours we have luggage area now again cleanliness is kind of in question here but there are some blankets they provide us with pillow the fam doesn't work unfortunately that looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the 1930s and that's my beautiful spacious bed right over here right onward to Nevaeh we are running about 15 hours behind schedule or so this points are scheduled to arrive at about 6:00 in the morning tomorrow it never ends but it's a cloudy day outside so there's not a ton of sunshine but the views are quite spectacular rolling hills I haven't tried the lunch or the dinner or dinner today just cause we're getting so close I've been avoiding using the toilets for the past two days so that's been successful so far try not to eat your drink a lot we have about 20 hours they've already arrived at our slums very slow journey so evidently the safety of always aspiration nowhere to be found suspiciously there is a broken window right next to it [Music] so there is a full restaurant on board the train which does serve some pretty good meals for my works down the aisle drive between myself apartment breakfast but it will do so this evening vehicle boo here he has fried fish some sort local race and it looks like the anther to East African spinach kind of I think it's dreams actually we'll turn em free and a small bit of tomato soup that served alongside but on top of the rice so interesting cut I'll wash down with a pail my jar Bon Appetit [Music] [Music] [Music] I finally caved and I bought a meal for dinner for the first time so we'll see how this coach who's the window rather than I just try to drive away very crazy out there [Music] [Music] when finally arrived here in Taurus long ten to the eighth after Eve 60 [Music] that's pretty important Stevie here a lot of mosquitoes I'm a little bit worried about malaria so I'm gonna get to my hotel pretty quickly here and wait for the Sun to come out a little bit more I'm not sure what's going on but there's a lot of people congregating at this point waiting to go to the station the holdup was there was a drug search so they make you lie Nagar bags every passenger on the train house to do that and then they use the drug sniffing dog to see if anybody's bringing contraband over the border into Tanzania he Rambo at dar es salaam station I got about a 10-minute cab ride to the Holiday Inn where I'll be staying tonight and then exploring the city from there let's go [Music] [Music] [Music] well finally I've arrived in Daraa Salaam Tanzania it is about noon right now I've been enjoying a few hours here at the hotel I arrived at around 7 o'clock this morning after a grueling 64 hour train ride the train was delayed significantly so what was supposed to be a two-night trip became a three-night trip we arrived at about 7 o'clock in the morning and I grabbed an uber to the hotel which was very straightforward their ride took about 45 minutes due to traffic I can say that I'm very thankful to be in this city a beautiful location here it is perched right on the edge of the Indian Ocean I can see the ocean from my hotel window very excited to cross that channel tomorrow and head to Zanzibar for today I'm going to be looking around Darussalam it is a fusion of Arab Indian African and German culture meshed into one it is an amazing place from the looks of it so far I wanted to give you a rundown though of my experiences on the tzur railway for anybody who's interested or applying my taking that journey [Music] okay [Music]
