number one adding roles rolls can act like really  exciters in your track you can be snare claps or   any sample that you prefer I'm gonna use snares  because those are the most popular ones I build   this one to help you learn pro roll the first  thing is of course getting a sample I'm gonna use   drum rack but you can use anything I have a sample  coming from a (Mercurial Tones) analog sample pack   classic analog snare then we will start with  the pattern I'm gonna just start with 16 pattern   once you put the pattern in then you should  accentuate if you feel like it's needed   accentuation could be anywhere the main idea  is just creating like in between notes I'm   not gonna accentuate in the first part I'm  gonna Accenture it in the second part foreign I prefer one up one down pattern so  basically one is up here second one   down listen to the difference between here  and there now we have something like this pretty cool humanization doesn't end here you  can also a little bit Groove so that it's not   always on the grid I'm gonna go to my group  Library inserting swimming logic 16. I like   to keep the groove minimal so I decrease the  timing at random really low I mean the velocity   is low apply this will move the things a bit  off the grid so it even feels more human-like really cool already and then one single  trick is actually extend the length of   the sample while you are moving through  the time easiest way to do this one is   actually taking your Fade Out this  controls the length of the decay automation like this it gets more and more noisy and we can  hear the tail more if you don't have this   opportunity you can also use exit transient  shaper you can just increase the decay foreign just use Decay button over here and then bring  an automated pitch or filter the pitch automation   comes with again cheesiness so I'm going  to avoid pitch automation but if you don't   know how to do it you can just click on this  transpose button and then just go up like this for me this doesn't work too much in the  Techno but I'm gonna do put a two Auto   filters the first one will be low pass filter  and the second one will be high pass filter   the way it works is you automate the filter  from low to high on the low pass filter and   the other one you also start to take off  from the lows so the sound gets thinner foreign ing out the sun right before the end and  once we do this we have the smear you   can add reverbs delays anything that you  like make to sound a bit washy I'm going   to use a simple Reverb like this before  the filters I like to clear out things   like smooth or chorus to keep the sound  a bit cleaner spin depends on your test   but in this case I'm Gonna Keep it just  to give it a bit weirdness to the sound thank you foreign according to my YouTube analytics 42 percent of  the people who are watching my videos are not   subscribed to channel if you are here more  than once and feel like learning something   please consider subscribing it helps a ton number  two combos the combos are really useful when the   snare rule itself is not enough and you want  to get a bit more percussive excitement it is   done basically adding different percussions to  really exaggerate the excitement that you have   if you take or drumroll the one thing that  you can immediately treat excited more is   adding a clap sample but I would really suggest  avoiding using the same pattern so that you can   actually hear the clap and snare separately  for example a pattern like this would work well I didn't like speeding up snares here   clap kind of works that way because  the pattern gets faster and faster now everything that we have done  with the snare like those filters   and so on can be applied here but  using something else so that they   can really separate from each other  for example adding Echo like this families have much more excitement you can even  exaggerate this ending like a symbol sample   light and on the high end so that we can have this   timer separation between up and  adding a little bit on top right and now we have our Perfect combo adding Rises  the way I feel is whenever I pick a riser sample   let's say from splice always it is cheesy and  because of that most of the risers that I use   actually I made it after that need that I have  in the track in this case I'm actually using a   preset from my unlock techno for serum sounds  like this this really big techno shot you can   take the pitch and automate it but the simplest  method will be just take this bandwid into the   range that you are going for you can just click  this one go back to Ableton and automate it up I think it is important reaching the top of the  sound slightly before it ends more satisfactory   that's my feeling at this but of course this is  not good enough the thing that I really like to do   is actually taking out everything like this and  taking LFO and map the frequency here now it's   moving up and down all the time so it's too much  decrease depth like this like with the snares we   want to open this up going forward so easiest way  to do is actually taking this offset and if I move   it right it is opening up so ultimate all the way  up minus 39 triplet plus 32 and this will make the   sound being unstable back and forth with all the  time by file on the long run opening up more and   more also automating the rate the more you go up  the faster filter moves back and forward like here   it's slow up here it's moving much faster left and  right so this will really enhance the unstableness   and expectation one thing I like to do is  actually adding angular compression you can do   this one with the scenario as well and now doing  a small gain automation as well so take a listen   right it's coming really from the behind  and going to the front and getting unstable and the glue competition is  keeping the volume levels steady foreign just perfect number four the sweeps very  useful as well problem with the sweeps is   that people just threw up like a night  sleep only a project without you taking   too much sometimes it sounds a bit off from  the track more organic way of doing it is   actually sampling the sound and using as  a noise in my track I have this lead sound now how can you sample this one to play this  sound solo it and create another Channel put   into resampling mode put into recording mode  and then on your main Channel put a big huge   Reverb it's really full that taking off a bit  too low so that it's not really super basic creates this kind of long-susting room  Ambience feel what you need to do click   this freeze button and resample the sound that  you are hearing now we have something like this just like a white noise you can hear the mildew  behind but not really the way I like to use this   one is actually cutting the laws now it's more  like a noise first idea is smearing this even   more I'm going to use polish Shimmer at a suit  and Overdrive magnified this beautiful noise   sound that we can use to save it you want  slip and riser to sound really coherent what   I'm doing here is actually taking exactly  the same Auto filter and exactly same LFO almost feels like this perfect storm but  we will make it a bit more colorful using   an auto pan and taking another LFO we are  using ramp gonna increase and increase and   increase and more and this one is applied to  the rate so this will pan left and right slowly   in the beginning and later faster and faster feel  right getting faster together with this 15 moment here we go again I can use a Billet compression  just to balance everything out when you are making   risers and sweeps loosen them together and see if  they really fit together nicely let's do that now foreign things together creating your risers sweeps and  transitions from your own tracks so that it pays   this really United feel number five the verses  reverses oftentimes used for the vocals I can   take a piece of vocal reverse it use it like a  sweep effect other very common technique of the   reverse actually using like exciters one of the  simplest way of doing sexual taking like a simple   sound using a Reverb on top and then reversing  it in this case I am the symbol sound because it   is not long enough so we're gonna smear the verb  and other EQ so that we catch more the high end similarly sample it again now we have  this cool shape will really help us when   we reverse it just clicking R and now  with the original sample we have this right it's really sucking in effects this might   really help out all the other  things that we had previously the other very common thing is actually using on  the lead is kind of an answering part of the lead   or exciting delete sound now if you go back to our  Elite sound I kind of want to hear an answer so we   again do the same thing resample the sound and if  you reverse it you end up with something like this   that is around with the originally  sound and kind of excites it you can use this one actually clap snares  and even kicks as well you just take a   simple piece reverse it and put in the  front it will kind of will lead into it   or create a small excitement now if you  play all together it sounds like this foreign
