How I Make Money As a Digital Nomad Living in Thailand 💰

what is up guys welcome back to another video in this video I want to quickly answer the question for you guys um how do I make money living in Thailand how did I move here how do I afford to live here um and so this is very it's gonna be a very simple breakdown to be honest and so one the first question I just want to answer is why did I choose Thailand the reason why I chose Thailand because Thailand has always been on my list of places somewhere I wanted to visit um didn't know I want to like live here but I've always wanted to visit right and one day I woke up and was like yo I need to like switch it up and so this is when I'm back in the US Mike so literally within a three week time spent I sold everything I own and uh bought a ticket a one-way ticket here and boom here I am and so the reason why I wanted to visit Thailand though because I've seen all the Vlogs look super cool you know what I'm saying so and then one of the biggest things is the cost of living um compared to the US I know that by coming here I can save a lot of money um like my sister's in the US I was paying 1400 a month in rent and I was like y'all can come to Thailand and pay like you know two three four five six hundred dollars and still be you know save a lot of money in the area also wouldn't need to own a car make a car payment none of those things like that right so I looked at this it's a very strategic move the other reason why I chose Thailand is because I wanted to start making travel content which is what this channel is now so try round travel and food you know so I wanted to switch it up so those are the combination of reasons why I chose to move to Thailand now on the um question of how do I afford to live here um it breaks down to a few different one I already have a monetized YouTube channel boom that I've had for the past couple of years I built a you know an audience around the pressure washing space back when I was in the state so I taught people you know about pressure washing how to start pressure washing business Etc so that channel produces you know a monthly income and I don't even post as much on that I'm gonna start posting more because I'm actually converting that channel to General more General uh like business content and like just like tiles and stuff like that so that is the transition for that channel but yes so that channel makes me money the income on that does vary but the income I make from there is enough to like afford to like live here but that's not the only thing so when I when I moved here I was working you know before I moved here I was uh I had my pressure washing business right so that's why I had the channel this past year I believe back in like March or may I sold the business to my younger brother but part of the structure to that when I sold to him was that I was still on a you know a small percentage um that would get paid from pretty like essentially like passively so I get paid you know a monthly cut out whatever the percentage of sales are from that business so that on top of YouTube and then from YouTube other than YouTube paying me for just like you know the viewership the AdSense payout I built digital products so attached to you know my knowledge of pressure washing I had to build a course boom six figurepressurewashing.com what these people you know teach people pretty much A to Z how to start pressure washing business and then I wrote an e-book boom um and all these things just get posted under my videos I might mention them in the video and be like hey guys if you're interested in more in-depth education you can check that out so that makes sales the ebook makes sales um I recently wrote a new ebook that is more General so this ebook right here teaches people how to write your first ebook and make a thousand dollars now it's based upon my own personal experience of writing an ebook and it making over a thousand dollars so you know everything I do is from personal experience so yeah it's a combination of uh digital products YouTube and uh getting paid for the pressure washing and I also do a little bit of digital marketing for um a company help them you know put together Facebook ads so those combination of things allow me to make money here in Thailand now this channel I'm Blown Away by how fast it's growing I mean it's crazy like I went literally before I came here well when I came here October 13th is when I landed here in Thailand and I think the channel well it had like no videos posted right this is a brand new channel um I had nobody else two subscribers which were me subscribing from my other two channels and in the past nearly two months I went from zero to out probably by the end of this month December at the time I'm posting this video will be at anywhere between four and five thousand subscribers thanks to you guys blown away so with that being said this channel will also uh reach it's already in the process now of um being reviewed for monetization so this YouTube channel will also become another stream of income for me um as well as some other projects I am working on I'm actually going to start building a business around um Consulting for people who want to transition and move to Thailand I'm building out a patreon that is going to pack a bunch of value in the patreon I'm going to talk about travel hacking uh talking about personal finance credit we'll talk about a specific Thailand um tips it's going to be pretty much an information Hub packed with tons of tons of value um that's going to help you guys not just in the area of like obviously if you want to come live to Thailand you know um whether you want to come here work remotely or you want to look for a job opportunity here or maybe you want to retire here the goal for this patreon group is not just to be something generic but to be something you know with very insightful and helpful information um around things like making money um I think like I said personal finance travel hacking credit um because credit let's quickly and just briefly run with that real quick but credit isn't just about you know having a credit card and you know paying it off monthly whatever you know that's people most people use a credit card for but a lot of you guys probably will know there's also a lot of travel benefits to credit cards right so you build up points you can get free flights and stuff like that so those are also things I'll be talking about within um within the patreon so once that if you're interested if you want to be like on the waiting list for when it's released it's going to be super affordable monthly too so don't worry about that um there will be a forum below that you can just like drop your email in and your name and when the patreon drops you will be the first to be uh notified but hopefully this answers your question guys that is how I afford to live here in Thailand um I will say this like the percentage I get paid for the pressure washing business is not near close to what I was making when I was actually the one running it I mean like I sacrificed a huge portion of my income this year in uh in exchange for me just wanting to try something new and betting on myself so even with me telling you guys that I already have another Montage YouTube channel I'm not like it's like it's not like it's paying me a whole whole bunch of money so choosing Thailand like I said was very strategic on I know that even you know if things really hit the fan you know I'm saying that I could get by here you know I'm saying in a worst case scenario if I could get by here in Thailand so but obviously that's not not the case but that's why you know it's just one of the reasons I'm like yo it's I could save a bunch of money and so I know a lot of you guys have also asked you know me more questions about uh Thailand so whatever questions you guys have leave leave comments and I'll try to answer them in upcoming um in future videos and you guys have more questions on you know how you can you know potentially the same thing if you want guys want to start a new life in a different country you know if you guys want to move to Thailand um I mean this is great for people who want to retire especially right now I'm in the John Tim area and like uh Patia Thailand if you've heard anything about Thailand patches sometimes gets a bad rep for being very like raunchy and it's all you know like hookers and stuff like that out here um so if you want to get into trouble out here get definitely get the trouble but if that's not what you're looking for it's still Patsy of Thailand and specifically like the jam 10 area offer something completely different and there's so many retired people in John Tam I missed nearly almost all of John TM is like retired people like literally the other you literally actually yesterday um today of this video Olivia was uh walking by the downtown Beach seeing a little bar walked by and I seen that I was having like a uh happy hour so I just stopped in you know ended up chopping up with this uh older retired white guy it was a great time had a great conversation um chatted up you know had some beers so yeah it's a bunch of people like leaving like from coming from different areas maybe the UK or the US and retiring here because I mean it beats being in like a nursing home or something like that I mean you can come out here like the complex I'm at right now um I got it off the Airbnb but I'm sure like if you booked this place uh like directly through the leasing office you probably would only pay maybe don't quote me on this but I want to say probably it could probably cost maybe 150 bucks a month to live here um you have a gym there is a cafe in here and then almost the whole inside of I mean the middle part of the building because the complex is surrounded by you know so you have the middle section and then the buildings around it the whole middle section is literally a huge huge pool the weather out here is great um you have the beach is about 15 minutes walking distance or if you take a motorbike you can get there in like five so you know people can come over here you know so people who retire and they get their U.S pension and come and live over here I mean honestly it's not a bad deal you got nice weather you got the island not far away if you want to do if you want to check that out so Thailand offers a lot of benefits and I'm pretty sure they rank high and one of the places to retire so if you guys if you any um of you watching this video right now and you might be older and you're looking you know evaluating your options I would say highly considered highly considered um Thailand they have a lot of resources available uh as far as like people like they're very retirement friendly there's some things you got to do qualifications a certain amount of like uh money and then like it's like retirement visa and gives you like 10 10 years at a time for the Visa um yeah and you would be good to go over here if you guys want more information than I can try to you know find it for you or punch in the right direction but yeah so there's a lot to uh a lot to be offered here people oftentimes get massages you know a few times a week because they're so cheap average massage for one hour is like two to 300 Baht depending on what area you're in just to give you guys some perspective 300 Baht I'll put the exact conversion up uh right here so you guys can see that but yeah so I mean there's that there's you know cheap bars you can go to and then specifically specifically in Pattaya is one of the cheaper areas in Thailand to live in um compared to Bangkok even though Bangkok is still in my opinion as a U.S person um Bangkok in my opinion would still be considered I would use the word cheap but only because I'm from the US I don't want to like disrespect Thailand and say oh everything is super cheap I understand that people in comparison to their wages that the rent in certain places is not necessarily what they would call cheap you know I'm saying it's like me living in the U.S rent prices things aren't cheap it's like you're just keeping up right so um hopefully I asked all of you guys as questions I'm around how I make money in this video don't forget to like comment and subscribe I got a lot more travel
