won't make it work this happened years ago but the leaps of logic people make still amazes me during my stint at a store where everything cost $1 I was just getting ready to leave for the day I was almost done ringing out the people in my line when a lady walked up with a full card she took one look at my line my co-workers in line and proceeded to the register behind me a register that had no till drawer was clearly open and empty all lights turned off and a closed sign up me notices this lady is starting to put her stuff on the belt ma'am that Tilly's closed lady ignores me as she continues to pile her mountain of items on the belt me ma'am there's no one to ring you out that register is closed lady turns to glare at me it will be open goes back to putting her stuff on the belt me uh finishes and calls up my manager my manager comes to grab me and we go into the office to count my till out manager it's that lady waiting for someone me she wants to be wrung out manager then why she had a closed till me I told her it was closed but she won't move manager after a thought she can wait there I'm not opening another till just for her so we count my till out which takes about ten minutes sign the proper paperwork and I head to the back to grab my stuff all of this took about roughly 10 to 15 minutes guess who's still waiting up front standing in an empty register the lady gave me a hard glare as I walked out to go enjoy the rest of my day while she continued to wait for a cashier that was never going to show up the next time I came back into work apparently the lady got so fed up with waiting she left the store with all her stuff still on the belt the next story is the weirdest customer I've ever had hi this story took place in an electronics parts retail store I'm quite proud to have specialized myself in both the parts and House audio departments this store is in the House audio department to customers approached into the department since they had no distinction from each other I will refer to them as them their demand was rather odd them we have a party in five days and need materials lots of it at this point I was the new guy and saw the opportunity to make my first huge sale okay what exactly do you need them well we want lots of huge speakers all linked together me okay sure thing I sold them five two hundred and fifty dollar speakers plus seventy dollars worth of cables them at some point during the party we're gonna have a small band playing I sold them a mixing table and two microphones which stands for a total of six hundred dollars they wanted the best we had them we'll be playing music from two different devices laptops and it needs to switch from one device to the other at the end of each song me why them because we want one song to play from my computer than one song from his the other guy computer me why don't you put both music inside one device into a playlist then because I don't want to be stuck with his music in my computer after the party me well you can delete it after the party then I don't want him to lose his music me then make a copy in your computer then delete the copy them sir let me be more clear you want your sale you're at my service me well of course I am you couldn't be more right I'm just trying to recommend you the best and cheapest solution but it does require some effort and work from your side big mistake then sir right now you work for me we ask you stuff and you make sure we get what we want me sir I don't work for you I work for store name I answer to my boss's demands which is to serve his customers I'm at your service but I do not work for you then okay we're getting sidetracked how can we make it so that when the song on one device ends it automatically switches to the other device me you can't you'd have to manually switch the volumes of both inputs from the mixing table such a device doesn't exist I'm afraid the best you can do is have someone stationed there to do it then like a DJ me yes but since it's just reversing to input volumes no need to hire a DJ the best solution from the information of what you're willing to do would be to station one of you or your guests to do it them no the party's for everyone including me I can't be spending all my time at the mixing table just to switch volumes me then hire a DJ my cousin does part-time DJ he's good they actually hired my cousin for this that's $200 that they had to spend on him he charges $30 per hour plus transportation them okay how can we know the device from which the song is playing me well you could check directly on the computers or on the mixing table or simply by recognizing your music from his them well we'll need add headphones the mixing table if it plays in the left ear it'll be computer one me sir you just need to check which volume is up on that them interrupting me sir you're at our service we have a demand now you find a solution for it me sir what I'm trying to say is that we can only set the pan pan is the left and right output two speakers most of the time it's in the middle so the left speakers there is loudest the right ones and the pan is for the output you could use the pan but computer ones music will only play on the left speakers and computer twos music on the right speakers it's completely ridiculous plus you're hiring a DJ he could fill you in on that then we don't know this guy and we don't trust him enough me but you're hiring him how can you hire him if you don't trust him then well he doesn't know the material me neither edu you're buying them right now you've never used them before my cousin knows this stuff since he recommended my boss to buy them for the store not true but I needed a convincing argument at this point my friend who taught me all I know about house audio came in and just started agreeing with everything he said just so we can move on now came all the audio adaptors they needed they bought $40 worth of adapters in this store and adapter cost from 50 cents to a dollar 50 depending on it in other words they bought from 28 to 80 different adapters they demanded that we test everything before they pay for it we plugged everything in and it all worked perfectly in this store they have a special policy if a product was tested in store no refund and if it's audio equipment no refund everything was tested their bill got up to $2,400 my first huge sale I got patted on the back for that it was the biggest sale I made when I worked there the day after their party they tried to return everything they claimed that nothing worked I called my cousin he said that his first hour of work was spent redoing all the cabling since everything was plugged in in the most messed up way possible my boss spent two hours dealing with them saying that they could not return anything because of the previously-mentioned policy in a strange fit of rage they've left all their purchases at the front door and left the premises by bluetooth speakers some cables lots of adapters a mixing table two microphones with their stance and a nice pair of headphones all barely used my boss looked at me and said well since they're considered used I can only sell them at half the price but since I technically cashed in on them I can make you a price I purchased all this equipment for a quarter of the price with my 20% employee discount for a total of $480 a rip I was happy and the boss was happy if only they listened when we told him no refund or read their receipt which also stated it if only they weren't so lazy if only they weren't so arrogant if only they would have listened to me and if only they weren't so weird maybe they would have paid fifty percent less and got an even better result sorry for the long story but I think it's a nice one to tell the third story is how I got fired for my brother's job where I've never worked it happened six years ago a lovely little tale of how I went shopping and managed to get fired let's give you some context to help you out though my brother and I are half Chinese three years apart and I'm 511 and he's just under six - we have different fathers so it's always weird to hear wow you guys look the same when we really don't he has a fair few more pounds on me too so I have a day off and I'm going to meet my friends I've got 20 minutes to kill and I'm mulling over whether or not I'm gonna grab a new graphics card for my computer my brother gets discounts which I've never used but I figured if there was something worthwhile I'll get it on its discount so I go into the shop and I'm staring at graphics cards comparing one to another I'm stood there for a good five minutes before someone then comes up to me and just stares at me what's up I end up asking tentatively as it's obvious they want my attention I noticed she's got a nametag and like me she's wearing a plain black t-shirt however she doesn't have a problem with my t-shirt why are you wearing jeans obviously I'm bewildered but she just goes on you know what the policy is here so I can't help but laugh I figure she's having a laugh with me and then it's an interesting way to try and close a sale electronic shop with the dress code hilarious this however isn't the desired response as the mood flips completely she's shaking shaking with rage at the fact I'm just giggling in her face like a girl get into the office right now she tries to lead me by the arm like I'm a naughty school child and she was even more enraged by the fact I withdrew my hand from her disregarding my confused expression in common of what the f she runs off in under a minute she's brought back a heavyset bloke who looks pretty unhappy with the fact he's been brought out unlike everyone else who I noticed is wearing a black t-shirt and black trousers he's in casual clothes he's the boss he's now getting increasingly unhappy as she fills in the encounter with stories of my incompetence and of the recent struggle so I cut in I argue about how this is a misunderstanding and I get told the Zipit that expression was genuinely used I was then berated while I tried to cut in to explain the situation I'm also now running out of time so I then try to call my brother so he can get his a here and sort it all out however he then has the nerve to take my phone off me and then really lay into me about having my phone on the sales floor he tries to then take me to the back office as we've got a crowd growing but I shrugged him off I'm swearing he's swearing and then it comes I'm fired you're not him BS he then grabs me and starts dragging me to the door and I'm flailing around trying to stay on my feet kicking boxes and shelves and finally were at the door to which I'm pushed out of he's then stood blocking the doorway aghast with how I acted stating how appalled he is my phone starts ringing and I see it's my brother he had a drop call for me I answered and immediately tell him to run back to work he's on his lunch break two minutes away and I then decide to take it further I tell his boss to get effed I swear I make a scene we're on the street and people are stopping to watch the theater unfold before them he's calling the police there's vile things said and gestured and then my brother turns up his look is golden but what I'm enjoying much more is the look of his boss the look of his supervisor God how I love the look on her face is while the manager was going on in heaves she adds such a smug look so I pulled the race card as well as a half Chinese guy can anyway and apologies were so forthcoming and suddenly they weren't barring the door they were trying to bring us both in if this was the u.s. we might have been able to make a bigger deal of this but a typical English town not so much but I went to listen to the apologies just to fob them off on the upside I got a free gtx 770 wouldn't give me anything better but hey wish i was able to put this more eloquently but hey the last story is so I ruined someone with a stolen checks des quick flashback to Saturday I'm making a cash pickup from the tills and there's a cheque in the till drawn on a bank that closed 15 years ago after being bought out by another bag I showed it to the cashiers and told them about it our store director went to high school with the person the cheque belongs to and confirmed they were stolen back to Monday there's a customer with a couple of large buggies she pulls out one of the exact same set of checks and starts writing it out for three hundred and eighty dollars one of the cashiers I had shown the cheque to comes running to the office with a cheque ma'am I can't take this cheque why not well to start with superior federal has been closed since 2005 this cheque isn't any good it's my daughter's check there's a superior federal still in Eldorado no man the superior bank in Eldorado wasn't a part of this chain when it was open and it's actually a credit union this check clearly says federal bank and Malvern also it's not your daughter's check this check is stolen I know the person needs belonged to I had an account with superior Federal when it was open they were a really good Bank so I know a bit more than a normal person would well I never it doesn't matter I cannot and I will not take this check for this purchase at this point the lady storms out and she and the woman she was with had four different vehicles I can't quite get a tag number on them but I get a good description and call the police department upon reviewing the cameras we discovered that the lady had an ankle monitor on 15 minutes later they come back pulling into the parking lot of the law office next door and go in I run out get a tag number and call the police who show up and make an arrest I hope you like these stories thanks for watching
