This is the real excitement to come out of Bitcoin, not unnecessarily high costed cryptocurrencies. Decentralized P2p transactions.
A word of advice: cryptocurrencies are the multi-level marketing of the tech world, and you should not get involved with them. They are poor investment vehicles, are bad for the environment, and have very cult-like communities built around them. Blockchains in new domains are usually a solution to an already-solved problem, introduce new problems of their own, and are usually being pushed by perverse incentives. Many people who speak positively about cryptocurrency have a vested interest in getting you on board.
