Let's try something different in this video -- sign language. [laughs] [music plays] People want to know about braille signs and how do I find them. I got to be honest. The hotel is probably the easiest place to find braille signage. Really. I mean, because it's just a long hallway, right. And there's rooms on either side and you walk down the hall. And if you touch the wall. You know, there will be a sign next to the door that tells you room 26, room 28, room 30. Like that. So on and so forth. So it's really easy to find. Now an office building I've never been too. That's a little bit different. So I walk into the lobby. There's a help desk right there. And somebody will say, "can I help you, sir?" And I'll tell them, "yeah, I need to go to this particular here." And they or someone else will bring me up to the office and then I can check, right, and feel along the wall to see if there's a sign next to the door to tell me what room it is or what office is. Which is nice because then if I have to come back I have a rough idea of the path I have to take. And then I can check the side to confirm it's the place that I've been to before. But sometimes when I'm in a new place with no assistance... oh, man can it be challenging. [music plays] So I'm in a convention center right now, right. So I have to find this meeting room where I have to be. I'm scheduled to be there in a couple minutes. So let me see if I can find the room and see if there's any signage or not. Let's see, shall I go this way? [door opens] Uh, oh. [door closes] Okay. Now we'll have a look. Is this where I want to be? 203B. Oh, look, there it is in print as well. You know what's weird though. Look where this is. It's right behind the door. So if this door opens right now... I'm going to get bonked right in the head. Little scary. See, if you ask me I think you should put it over here. Right here. Although... Oh, see it's double doors so I'm stuck either way. Maybe on the doors themselves? Oh, boy. [music plays] So what if a door is already open. Now how would I find the sign? Let's see. Hello? [chuckles] 203A. And there it is in print. See that's a little scary. That's, I mean. Oof. But I don't know where you'd put to make it better. I wonder if they're trying to tell me something by hiding the braille signs? Edison, we don't want you here. We don't like your kind. [music plays] An easier place to find braille might be an elevator. Let's have a look. Okay, so here are our buttons here. Oh, good. There's up. Okay, and right there is down. So let's push down. And listen for our elevator to arrive here. [music plays] I don't hear anything. Oh, they're both open. Let's take this one. [music plays] Alright, so in we go. Let's see if we can't find the buttons. Here's one right here. So let's hit it. And nothing happens. Let's push it again. [gasp] It's on a slight delay. [elevator beep] [elevator beep] [elevator doors open] And let's check out our door frame and see if we're on the right floor. It's empty. Here it is. "Main." That's it. It just says "Main." So I'm going to assume that's one. [music plays] Here's an example of good placement of a braille sign. It's right next to the door frame and nothing is blocking it. Right here. Look, it says... "127. Food Service Cart..." Then it says, "Thorage" down here. Sometimes it's misspelled I guess. Because I have no idea what "Thorage" is. Listen, here's the thing. If I made a print sign, you wouldn't be able read it either. [laughs] [music plays] Now, this is like false advertising. Where's the food cart? Hello! [laughs] I'd like two hot dogs and a cola please. [laughs] That must be the "Thorage'
