How 1 Man Broke Skyblock Forever

it's 2 a.m on june 6 2022 70 years and four days since queen elizabeth ii came to power trust me this is relevant the bazaar and the auction house are completely closed as normal and everything seems fine a couple of your friends message you flexing the newfound wealth in the billions and your guild is going insane as almost every single player is talking about how many coins they just made players start logging off they pinned everyone in their discord server they're all getting wiped lists of wipes are being posted everywhere and guilds are falling apart three days later you're permanently locked from playing skyblock despite doing nothing your island is under manual review so um what happened and how is this the fault of the queen of england as united has been an influx of new items on the bazaar and auction house and i may or may not have been involved anyways let's get straight to it sit down and enjoy the valve items become worthless [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] to understand what happened we first need to go all the way back to artist 2021 when a co-op was made by three people called z banana bolvar and hype known as the sandbox throw up it was named this because the objective of the co-op was to have so many coins that the members could treat it like a sandbox game through any means possible this also means maxing out skills which usually takes over 2 000 hours to do or could be done for the low low price of 15 billion coins worth of jerry boxes a majority of players will never see this type of money in their entire playthrough most players never even reach one billion in three years of plane but to the sandbox show up this was maybe 10 minutes and a third of a single chest of totally legitimately sourced items over time the co-op expanded to add outlaw melissa orange juice admission and steelman all friends of the founding and together as a group they had duplicated over 8 trillion coins worth of items by june 2022 to put this into perspective the entire stable community of players spends just over 1 trillion coins per week throughout the entire game across every single place it is possible to spend coins needless to say if these coins made their way into general circulation there would be drastic effects on the james economy the co-op was doing fine they were having fun playing their game on what was basically creative mode for quite some time however tensions rose between z banana and the rest of the co-op as he would log in to place racist homophobic and transphobic comments around the island and harassing other members naturally this did not go down too well with everyone considering one of the co-op members was transgender themselves and everyone just kinda found him annoying if not for his views than the fact that the things written on the island should result in everybody being banned eventually after feeling unwanted for so long he made the decision that he was going to sabotage the entire co-op and get it wiped but he wanted to go out with the bank and he knew just the guy to help him accomplish that introducing lil dafty although not part of the co-op he was a duper and was the person that found the deep method that was used to dupe all the items that crashed the economy and caused the great gemstone massacre he would dupe on alts and give those alts to z banana which transferred them to the sandbox throw-up and sometimes they both irela traded some of the goods but that's not who dafty had always been dafty actually used to be part of a group called skyblock nerds which is a discord server made by skyblock admins to get feedback and suggestions so that they can help improve the game and he was one of the most active members there and helped in one way or another made the game better but out of all the other members inside nerds he stood out for his ability to break the game and find dupes the best and reported them to admins and because of that some drama slowly started breaking out which mostly consisted of people accusing him of stealing other people's dupe methods and calling them his or other people stealing his dupe methods and calling them theirs and reporting them to admins to impress them and due to that and a few other reasons like him using dupes he finds to make some coins or dupe his collection dafty ended up getting hit from this tablet nerds community to him his removal was like a spit in the face as a reward for all the sleepless nights he spent helping improve the game but he also knew he did some mistakes that merited his kit and tried to change his behavior to the better in order to rejoin nerds but after so many failed attempts of reaching out to them and asking for a second chance he decided to let it go and started coping he decided to start breaking the game rather than help fixing it and he did that the best way he knew how to by finding dupes and abusing them so hard to triple the game and that's what he did for a few months he would wake up and dedicate a few hours every single day to finding ways to break the game he found a lot of the dupes that were used to cross some of the most infamous crashes and he did a great job at keeping all of them very secret and never reporting them so dafty saw z banana's plans of going out with a bang which aligns very well with his own hatred to the game so he simply gave him a few dupes and shared some accounts with big dupe stashes with him and daphne never actually was in the sandbox throw up if anything he was a bit careless about what z banana does with the dupe stashes he gave him as long as he doesn't expose the method and as long as he gets a caught from the irl trading so what was the plan well within all of these alternate accounts were double chests full of stats of two items perfect gemstones and infernal vertexes in skyblock most expensive items have a unique identifier or uuid code on them which essentially means that they cannot be stacked and can also be checked for dupes however gemstones and inferno vertices are items that have crafting recipes using stats of the items and as a result they do not have yuya ids which means they are also very easy to dupe and easy to dupe in large numbers within one of the dupe accounts was 21 double chests of perfect gemstones worth 8 million coins each 24 double chests containing other perfect gemstones worth around six millions each and three double chests of infernal vertices were 30 million each in total these items were worth about 1.5 trillion coins and this was the account that was going to be used for all the venezuelan economy-inspired hygienes the plan was to paint every member of a large tablet community and tell them to coordinate creating a huge number of people to make a huge number of hugely underpriced buy orders in the bazaar a centralized place for trading stability resources in order to distribute these items throughout the community the hope was that the news of this event would eventually spread throughout the wider community and that so many people would buy these items for so cheap that it would be impossible to remove them from the community without either doing a full rollback of several hours or banning every player that made a buy offer that day which probably would be a huge portion of the entire community players with the items could then hold on to them for a while and slowly sell them over time gaining them millions of coins and totally trashing the prices of the most expensive items in the game this was all planned to happen on june 5th 2022 however this 1.5 trillion selloff was actually more of a distraction than anything else dafty had been slowly selling off smaller amounts of miscellaneous items every day in private servers gradually eroding the pricing of almost every valuable item on the bazaar whether intentional or not this would result in a situation where the smaller sell-offs would go largely unnoticed as all the attention would be on the final day's massive gemstone sell-off and the panic it caused given that the duplicated items had already been in circulation for two weeks it would have been physically impossible to remove all the items without impacting every player's experience because the items would already be everywhere if you didn't understand what that last part meant just know that they were kinda smart and basically one step ahead of the admins but when june 5th rolled around dafty decided to wait one more day he realized that many of hypixel's development team the more background team that does behind the scenes coding and not the very public team were british june 5th was going to be a british national holiday to celebrate the 17th jubilee of queen elizabeth ii and he realized that if he did wait and drop the dupe stash on june 6 2 am uk time on a midnight right after a holiday literally nobody would be around to stop him and so he waited hello fellow players i have returned once again influenced the community into a three-day all-male event june 6 the sell-off happened all 1.5 trillion items thrown into the economy in the space of about 10 minutes and in that time nothing was closed it actually took a whole 20 minutes after all items were already placed into the bazaar before the systems were closed off for all players the fd believes the delay was because the developers were busy trying to find the dupe whilst things were being sold but it's much more likely that simply nobody was online at the time who had the ability to close down the systems and must have had to call somebody into the office or wait someone up to do it and just like that the damage was done on the course of the next few days hundreds of people got wiped including the entire sandbox throw up just like the banana has planned top end game players profiles gone a bunch of players islands lot for investigation for over a week and an economy ruined beyond repair with many of the duplicated items having prices that have never recovered since the first sell-offs began but there's another element to the story we still need to cover all these super expensive items were bought for very cheap by people that consist of two groups the first group of people are dafty and z banana's friends and their mutuals who knew about this beforehand and purposefully set up cheap buy offers whilst being aware of exactly what's going to happen so they were in on it the second group of people which are the public they are regular players who were just minding their own business and opened the bazaar that day and realized that the prices of items are stupidly cheap and simply decided to buy a bunch of them as a natural reaction since it was literally just free money and didn't think too much about it and of course this group of people is way better since it consists of anyone who was online at the time this was happening which was around 30 000 people and due to the admins being very fed up from all the dupes lately and all the damage it's been doing to the game which is very understandable they decided to just push the newt button all of dafty and z banana's mutuals that had put up buy offers for cheap beforehand were all wiped and banned gone and a portion of the public who were not directly involved but bought items for cheap were caught in the crossfire and also wiped them banned i tried to look at the exact scale of the damage but couldn't find any accurate numbers but it's estimated the people wived in total in that incident was in the couple hundreds with over 100 confirmed wipes of the top skyblock players and by top players i mean people who have over 5 000 hours spent on their profile and some known youtubers and here is the list of some of those top players now whether or not some of these top players were edit on and z banana's plan or were completely clueless and just bought the stuff on the spot we will never know mostly since there is no real way to know if they're lying about it or not especially since they're doing the impossible to get unwiped and want to paint themselves in the best picture possible but so far not a single one of them has been unwiped or unbanned well except for one guy called camera but he got wiped later again d4mit or dammit even made a graveyard on his island with the names of some of the top players he was friends with with quotes of things they said after they got wiped like 15h and rm underscore rf which were youtubers wydm which was the top weighted player in the game a few very very angry dupers using bad bad words and the leader of one of the top guilds in the game called lost in space near behar which brings me right into the topic of guilds specifically the top skyblock guilds i am in lost in space and i was there for those three days to witness the horrors of the massacre so i can speak from personal experience and i'll also be joined by one of lost in space's members who has over 6 300 hours on skyblock and was there to also witness the guild's downfall during the massacre who i totally picked randomly and certainly not because he has the blanca hat which you can buy from the essentials cosmetic shop hello daniel hello so did you buy anything did you profit from it i bought a few gemstones not that many until i profited about a billion uh how did you know about it a friend messaged me yo look at gemstones right now it's crashing by as much as you can you won't regret it and yeah so you you made a billion from it right but didn't get wiped because you were not directly involved with dafty or uh the banana right i didn't know who these people were until after that fairness like way after they do were you anxious the days after or i the first day was just yeah okay um i maybe get wiped kind of shitty i was kind of yeah all this work on second day i tried to refuse me getting wiped i i said nah it's impossible and then i was like second day not wiped if i now get wiped it was a good time i started to accept it and the third day was just did i get away with that will there be more so you're just anxious the entire time i was kind of anxious the entire time yeah someone i know i knew someone who wasn't able to sleep yeah oh wow but i knew he had trouble uh i knew he was like he didn't know what to do i still feel bad huh you think it was worth it not really yeah it was really hard on a lot of people and took a big toll on so many people's mental health especially the people who bought gems on the spot the people who had buy orders set up and coordinated with defty and z banana got wiped pretty quickly and didn't go through as much anxiety as the people who randomly bought cheap stuff found out there is a chance they might lose thousands of hours of work and also had their island lot for investigation for a few days which made matters much much worse to some extent it may be their fault for buying cheap stuff without thinking too much about it but at the same time it's not a reasonable thing to lose your entire three years of playtime just because you made a purchase that you thought was a good investment oh and about the top girls dogging well the top girls contained the top players and since the top players are banned and wiped i think the rest is self-explanatory at the end of the day people were wiped with thousands of hours of playtime some very fairly some slightly unfairly mental breakdowns were had an economy was ruined and a massacre had went down [Music] but on the bright side dafty had seen all the damage he has caused and realized that he might have done a bit too much trolling and that this isn't what he really wanted he's just a person that's very passionate about games and finding buds in them so he announced that he's going to quit duping on hypixel skyblock and apply to a minecraft server for a quality assurance position and got the job there so like this he can put his bot butt-finding skills to actual use instead of causing messages so i guess that's a pretty neat side quest ending to our story if you want to call it that anyways you're at the end of this video which is when i tell you to give it a
