We keep saying it's like
we're in a movie, a movie that from the
very beginning, had them questioning
what's next. Well, was supposed to be a relaxing 2h wedding anniversary celebrationr Tyree Boschi and her family turd into everything but that. We let on Monday for our trip, and we've been on five flights and in four hotels in three day. It's it's been a disaster, she . The disaster started with a winy morning on the way to
the resort
in Maui. That Uber driver was like, gosh, it's not usually. Like this, it's really windy to. And then as we were driving, you could see fire trucks
and you know. Police services and you could start to see some of the brush fires, she says. The resort was already without power when they checked in. By the time they ate lunch, they were being served food out of Togo containers. When they woke up, those were gone too. They were rationing breakfasts. We had like a fist full of eggs, two pieces of sausage, like 3 pieces of fruit, and then you could either have coffee or juice. Everything was starting to close in around the resort, located about a mile and 1/2 from the wildfire. Wednesday morning when
you got
up and looked out, you could still seee fires kind of burning,
like flickering in the background, just plumes f smoke. When they got
back to their hotel room, there was a sign
that said everything was closed. We all looked at each other and said we have to get out of here before . We lost cell service. She was able to call
her travel agent, Victoria Freaky, with
Vic's Vacations, based in Indianapolis, for help. Freaky says getting Tyree and her family to safety to Honolulu was a roller coaster because everyone is doing the same thin. It's just one thing
after another and you're you're just working
in a, you know, stop the bleeding 1st
and then go
to the next thing. They are able to find a ride from a stranger to the airport during the Dr. Tyree and her daughter tried to focus on the positives on that drive on the North Road. I said look around
because you really are seeing the beauty
of it, even though this is terrifying at times. For now, safely in Honolulu and hope to relax for the next three days in Indianapolis. Logan Gay 13 News.
