Hooked Up: Bait Fishing Lake Eildon

good everyone and welcome to like yelden where I'm about to do a bit of fishing hey you you're watching Robbie fishing the last time I fished Lake Yen was about August last year so about 9 months ago and that was over near pepen point today I'm in the Fords Inlet area now last year over at Pep and point I caught red fin and Roach Last time I fished this spot here was about 12 months ago and I caught red fin roach carp and a couple of yellow belly hopefully I can do that again this year anyway I better get my lines in line number one is a running Sinker rig with two Jan Jack Worms and that can go out there line number two your little Stumpy Rod is a pat Noster rig also with two Jan Jack Worms and that can go out that way oh that's might be a little bit close to that tree as long as I don't get snagged I think that's in a good spot now both lines are in as I said they both got worms on them that's because I'm targeting ideally I'd like to catch a nice red fin or a nice yellow belly and worms are a good bait that but they'll also catch just about every other species that's in the water now when we first got here we're all here together today as a family and when we pulled up there was a bit of a bust up out here so Holly went and flicked a soft plastic and she already caught a red fin before I even got my rods out of the car just had a nibble just a nibble and something's just nibbling on my Patos the there guys taking it up taking up the like now let's pick that up again it's a very faint nibble and missed him that's a start that is a start of uh Holly caught one as soon as we got here on a soft plastic and having that attach since but having out that was out there next to that tree I was just thinking it'll be a great spot to film underwater release footage but I don't want to put my camera under the water because then the head strap gets wet and cold but then I remembered I've got my old camera in the car this is my DJI action 3 I'm shooting with a DJI action 4 the updated version of this pretty much the same camera although it's got a slightly larger sensor so it handles the low light better I'm a big fan of these DJI cameras so if I if I happen to catch a fish and I want to get some underwater footage it'll be filmed with this camera grab that something's got that and got him that's a cap aring if it's not a cap it's something else big whatever it is it's not a 3-in red fin that might be a nice yellow belly hook me first fish why not be a big car I reckon it's going to be that it's a car Al Carpio yep Lor's just said too big for a bird because she wants me to uh if I catch a small red fin we got to or even a small C we're going to hang on to it in case a sea eagle or wh K flies over so that we can throw it under the water and give it a feed right Carpio bring you over here past my time lapse camera I'll beat you I'm on the board with a very gold colored mud Maron I shouldn't have held that carp up for a photo I usually don't but I've got the already with me he can take photos so I took the opportunity why I had a photographer with me to get a photo and now I'm covered in slime little Stumpy Rod delivers the goods and that was just out next to that tree that's going to be in that tree if I'm not careful that Lo just in front of the tree perfect slime me up carp slime just had a nibble on the Long Rod they a running Sinker rig there it goes I'm positive just set a nibble on that Stumpy Rod something nibbling on that there it go see Ni got him it's a long way out and it's not very big I reckon I'm might be a small red fin look at it's putting up a great fight well red number one for me but two for the afternoon because Holly got one 2 minutes after we got here see you later mate [Music] walking out with my bogs on my feet so look can get a bit extra casting distance old mate's just setting off on a big adventure over there we've got two small redin and one car on the board still got a couple of hours of daylight left yet did you see that but it's still N I just saw the line go out and back a little bit then watch I sit I'm going a b straight away told you I see that the moment me bum at the seat the fishing guards know how badly I need exercise I think come on come back he's still new that was a good bite that he's still there missed him man right I got him another small little red fin how did I miss that bite but it's a small something another small red fin I'll get me dedicated underwater release camera back into into action you going to keep this one oh no I'm not I'm not going to get the dedicated underwater release camera I keep forgetting the wants been a hold under the uh to the fish so that chick can feed the sea egg or the whistling cart but I kept releasing him and as soon as I release him she says didn't you want that one say fish it's your unlucky day your bird fter all right a little Stumpy back out there next to your favorite tree well that's all my inly favorite tree I kid you know I just put this line in let it again my UB fishing rod holder and then I went over there to wash me hands and I look around and the line was pulling tight and loose something had picked up the worms the moment at the bottom I've seen in some of my underwater camera videos as soon as the camera hits the bottom fish often swim over to it to check it out on there got him he I think it might be another small red fin it's uh fighting differently with the last couple maybe it's a slightly large it's not a roach is it it's a slightly larger red fin oh yeah the fish are getting bigger that's the biggest one today now we don't need to keep this for your bird do we because the last one hasn't been used I'll get me dedicated underwater release camera we kept the last one we we've haven't seen a SE Eagle all afternoon and we've seen a couple of whistling cards but nothing for a while so I've got my dedicated underwater release camera my little DJI action 3 and I'm going to get some underwater release footage of this English perch otherwise known as red fin see you later mate I can still see him he's swim off really slow I think he's a bit confused healthy but confused otherwise known as red fin see you later [Music] mate right coupler couple of fresh worms straight back out there to the Magic Tree well that's even closer than the last cast perfect little fish jumped right next to where my bit just landed what are you doing you Dingle qu what are you doing I was only filming you in case you fell down so I could send it into Australia's funniest thing videos can you keep your ey them for so why do you want your photo taken up there cuz I you know I'm not going to get him quick you weird quick I got to go watch me rods C you you take your red f something's playing with them worms there look got him H I've been getting heaps of little nibbles on this Rod that I haven't been able to hook up I finally hook one I think it's a very small red fin another very small red fin and that's exactly what it is well better than nothing it's good to be getting a few right red fin see you later mate [Music] right next to that tree over there seems to be where most of the action is or just in front of it just around that tree the other rods out there next to that tree and it hasn't had a nible for ages a nice spot on the Long Rod still bouncing around a b i he's got that something's something's playing with that hand got him oh he got off oh no he's on there still might be slightly larger but not much putting up a great fight oh here he comes hit a snag just out there another little red fin look at that he's gut hooked this one that happens with the old running Sinker rig with a yellow belly or a cot or something I normally just uh break the line but with a red fin I sacrifice the fish but you're about to be sacrificed so I've got the hook out he's a little bit of blood we'll let him go and say a prayer for him and hopefully you'll be okay see you later mate good luck one car and half a dozen small red fin might not seem like much but over the last week I've had three trips just down of the river and T and wind in the ovens and caught absolutely nothing so it's a breath of fresh air to be catching a few fish what are you doing up there you monkey Holly's in monkey mode full monkey mode you know your friend Mi M he injured himself in a workplace accident last week he lost three of his fingers on his right hand he said to the doctor can I still write with it he says you should be able to but I wouldn't count on it count on it do you get it no we can't we use your fingers to count he hadn't got any fingers you can probably only counted two you lost three do you get it now can't he just use his left hand [Laughter] [Music] got him there fish but I feel like it's wrapped around something problem with the running Sinker rig is that you give a feel bit of slack line and that slack line can wrap around things I can tell that's wrapped around it's just broken free now what have I got another little red fin little bit bigger than the others not as big as the uh the bigger one that I caught but it's probably the second big for the evening and just like the last one he's gut hooked the running Sinker rigs are notorious for that it's not that deep might be able to get him out he might be right he might have a sore throat for a little while but I reckon he's going to be okay don't stump he's getting a bit of action here again there a bottom other Rod there he goes both rods seeing a bit of action here just at the minute got him oh that would be a bad fish this one I don't know if it's a carp or if it's a yellow belly it's a good one if it's a carpet's a big one it's uh big this is big it's going straight into that tree look at the bend in this Rod hey dolls can you reow the roding for me please I don't I want to try let wrap me around that other tree really yeah it is really this other little line if I can get this away from that tree out there it might just prevent it uh there's a lot of weight in this fish just to try and prevent them from tangling each other I can feel it it's wrapped around stuff it's wrapped around something I can feel it kicking I think it's out I think it's out might get it in yet what are you it's going to be so that it could be a Cod there's cod in here oh Big C the way it's swimming right around I reckon it's going to be a big car it's uh it's a pretty heavy fish think over there under them trees it's going to be a c surely it's gone over there under that Bloody Branch that's away from it again back out in the open feels like about a 55 to 60 cm car is more I guess and that's exactly what it is I actually thought it was a lot bigger than this I reckon that could be because I've just been catching small fish for the last few hours I caught one car first up then a heap small red fin but still this uh still a pretty big Carpio it gave me a fair bit of Curry well folks I caught a red fin sandwich I got a car when I first got it is the bottom layer a heap of red f in the middle then another Carp at the end is the top layer we've had a fun afternoon here at Lake
