HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS/CRISPS

[Music] hello guys welcome back to phil's kitchen and today we are making potato chips potato chips are very easy to make at home they are crispy crunchy and you can use any seasoning that you have in your kitchen mine has a touch of garlic oregano and salt and it tastes really really amazing so let's just get started so here i have my potatoes i'm using 10 potatoes with potato crisps you can use as many potatoes as you want [Music] using a potato peeler fill them nicely or you can just use a knife pull them nicely until you have all the potatoes done [Music] [Music] make sure you wash them nicely and then our next step is to [Music] [Music] slicing i'm using a slicer to make thin slices or if you don't have such a kitchen tool just use your knife make sure your knife is sharp so that it's easy for you to make thin slices [Music] [Music] once you are done slicing we are going to put the potato slices in water and then you're going to soak it for five minutes this will help remove all the starch that's in the potatoes and then after that you will wash it until you see the water come out clear [Music] next is to dry the potato slices so here i have a tray with a kitchen towel we are going to line the potatoes very nicely and let them dry for 10 minutes [Music] [Music] so here i have my oil that is on high heat today see if my oil is ready i usually use the top the tip of a wooden spoon when you see the bubbles that means the oil is ready to use [Music] slowly put the potato slices in the oil and fry them while turning occasionally and for about five minutes until they are nicely golden brown and crispy [Music] [Music] [Music] once you see there are no more bubbles in the oil that means the potato chips are ready transfer it to a towel paper and let them cool [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] the potato chips are ready they are very crispy and crunchy you can finish this whole batch for yourself so go ahead and enjoy it with your favorite seasoning here i am using a mixture of dry oregano garlic paper and salt [Music] [Music] that's all for today guys i hope you've enjoyed this recipe video i hope you're going to make yourself some and i hope you enjoy thanks so much for watching and don't forget to give this video a thumbs up for more of my amazing recipes you can get me on instagram at field centers for kitchen or on facebook at phil's kitchen also don't forget to subscribe for more of my amazing recipes till my next video bye
