4 times, T1 had lost in the Bo5, 4 times they've been knocked out, and 4 times they have got back up
for this moment! It was 7 years since their last, and a DECADE since their first,
the SKT legacy has been reignited! T1 WILL BE YOUR 2023 WORLD CHAMPIONS! Nice! Oner: We did it, right? This is the moment we've dreamed about. Keria: We made it, guys. Gumayusi: Well played. Zeus: Well played. Keria: Really, you did wonderfully, truly Faker: Our team is on another level! Oner: Nice! kkOma: Hello, I'm Kim "kkOma" Jung-kyun,
the coach of T1. Considering our players have been on
a grueling schedule for quite some time my main goal this year is to ensure
we maintain a healthy team environment. I began my journey with SKT Telecom T1 in December 2012 and was part of the coaching staff
until 2019. After three more years,
I will have been with T1 for a decade and I returned because
I’m eager to complete that milestone. Reporter: Last year’s schedule was
particularly tough with numerous international tournaments
and the Asian Games. kkOma is concerned about
the physical toll it may have taken. I'd like to hear your thoughts. kkOma: When I talk about fostering a
'healthy team' I mean it in a comprehensive sense,
not just last year. I’ve noticed times
when our players struggled not just physically but mentally as well. It’s not just about reducing stress but also about creating an environment
that allows them to focus fully
on the game. Before 2017, whenever we made it to Worlds
we always ended up winning. However, the 2017 Worlds final is still
my biggest regret. Back then, it was our first time dealing
with a loss in the finals and over time I realized that you can’t always be in a full sprint. I learned a great deal then though learning and regret are
quite distinct. ShowMaker: I also chose T1 because
it’s one of the best teams in the world
and has kept its roster intact. Moreover, with the addition of the skilled
Kim "kkOma" Jung-kyun,
it’s been pegged as a favorite to win. Keria: Considering head coach kkOma’s
extensive career and track record along with T1’s history of frequent
major stage appearances and championship aspirations I believe he will greatly benefit the team Gumayusi: When I first joined T1 in 2018 I was rather inexperienced and it all felt a bit like
meeting a celebrity. Now, however it feels like we’re on equal footing,
as player to head coach. Announcer: How does it feel knowing
all the players and coaches from
the other nine teams have picked T1? kkOma: I feel quite pressured.
Our players are extremely skilled,
and I think that's why the other coaches
have been so complimentary about T1. After our team won Worlds last year,
we're starting a new season. I've led teams for a long time and I've seen that no matter
how skilled the players are,
they can't perform well
if they aren't physically and
mentally healthy. That's why I've often emphasized
this point. Caster: The top two teams that clashed in
the most crucial moment at
the highest level will face off on opening day. NoFe:Yes, it’s thrilling,
especially given their different
read on the meta. I’m eager to see what today will bring. Zeus: Is Tom here? Tom: Yup. Zeus: Hey, Tom, get on LoL. Tom: The main server? Zeus: Can we do a quick 1v1? Tom: Tournament server? Zeus: No, the main server is fine. Tom: Let's use the tournament server. Zeus: I’m curious about Udyr
into Gnar matchup. kkOma: Keria, I shouldn’t be saying this,
but my heart’s racing. Keria: Why? Is it because of the match? kkOma: Yeah. Keria: You’ll be fine. kkOma: Oh, good. Thanks. Tom: It’s okay if we lose,
just play comfortably. kkOma: I’m really nervous. Zeus: Tom, are you his senior? Tom: I guess. Zeus: Head coach, how long has it been
since you’ve been in the LCK? kkOma: Me? Tom: 1-2 years, right? kkOma: It’s been 2 years
since I didn’t do it at all
when I was the GM two years ago. But it hasn’t been long,
since I was on stage at the Asian Games. Now that I’m with the team,
I’m really nervous. Tom: He used to be my coach
when I was a player and he was quite strict. It’s been a while since we met,
and he seems much gentler. Maybe it’s because he got married? There’s definitely a big difference
from the past. kkOma: I’m so nervous. Oner: You’re nervous? kkOma: Yes. Oner: Oh dear. Faker: I don’t remember him being strict,
but that’s what I heard from the players
back then. But now, he takes good care of us
and is kind, and since he has a family,
he talks a lot about family stuff but apart from that,
I don’t think there’s much
difference between then and now. Zeus: I’ll go Gnar, so you try Udyr. Leave the waves alone,
and when you come out here,
just wrap around here. Use Wingborne Storm
but not Awakening. Use Awakening once Gnar E is down,
you know what I mean? On the next turn. Got it? Tom: Use Awakening once Gnar jump is down? Zeus: Yeah. Roach: There have been quite a few changes
with Top lane champions this patch,
like Udyr and Rek'Sai for example. What champions would be good against them? We’ve had a lot of discussions about
such matchups and in-game strategies. Gumayusi: In the Bottom lane,
it seems like the side
with the better ADC wins. Zeus: But a game where the better ADC wins
just doesn't feel right. Gumayusi: Carry with Udyr. Zeus: Wow, Udyr’s damage is out of this wo Udyr can withstand anything, really. I think it’s important to really immerse
yourself in experiences and then think about how to apply
what you've learned. Ornn There aren't many items to upgrade
with Ornn actually. Roach: There aren’t many. Zeus: I’ve thought about it and if we rush Sunfire Aegis
as the first core item- Roach: Remember it doesn’t upgrade, right? Zeus: Should we consider
Locket of the Iron Solari
for the second core to upgrade? Roach: That could work
if you want to upgrade quickly. Keria: What are the ADC items? Zeus: Is Navori Quickblades an option? Gumayusi: For ADC items,
there's Stormrazor, Kraken Slayer,
and Infinity Edge. Navori Quickblades won’t work. You can do Nashor's Tooth and so is Guinsoo's Rageblade. Roach: 'Seething Sorrow,' what a name! Gumayusi: Did you know upgrading
Infinity Edge gives an extra
30 attack damage? Oner: This Spring, we entered
the season quite late putting us a bit behind other teams in
reading the meta. Our coaches and players engaged in
extensive discussions about each lane particularly with the introduction of
new objects like Voidgrubs. We really focused on these areas and had extensive discussions
about the current patch. I believe we successfully applied
what we learned,
which turned out quite well. kkOma: Let's go, guys! Fighting! Man… My heart’s racing… Well, I told the players that the outcome doesn't matter too much.
what matters is that the team atmosphere
is really positive. Yes, it’s T1 with Zeus, Oner, Faker,
Gumayusi, and Keria
as the starting lineup. What more needs to be said? They're simply the best team
with the best players. kkOma: Let’s do this. Faker: Let’s have fun today. Zeus: Bro, you do this for fun? Faker: Yeah, I’m gonna enjoy today. Gumayusi: You gotta enjoy the game. Roach: Since it's our first game,
let's keep an eye on
those Voidgrubs and stuff like that. Let's focus on objectives and do our best. Faker: They don’t know I’m flank-TP’ing in I’m looking for an opportunity,
they don’t know where I am. I'll engage in front. Play it slow. I’ll TP in. I'm being marked. Hey, I’m going in. Follow-up below. x2 Follow up below. Front. Looking good! Chase! Corki's Flash might be down.
No, he has it. I'm ready, I'm ready. I knocked him up. Clear the waves. Nice engage. Faker: At the start of the Spring Season having won Worlds allowed us to approach
the games with a light heart. We all had the mindset to
just enjoy playing and I think that really
benefited everyone. Caster: When these two teams face off,
the score just naturally turns
out like this. Wow, it’s really hard to predict.
The team comps are quite polarized. Oner: Elder in 50 seconds. Keria: Should start Elder. Gumayusi: 10 seconds left. Keria: They’re started Elder. I secretly placed a Ward. I’ll look for a steal angle. I’ll freeze Maokai. Go for it, go for it. I'll freeze Maokai. Maokai’s in stasis! Put in damage! So close. Pull back nicely. Stay alive for now. Wow, that’s lethal? Tough luck. Zeus: So close. Nice try. kkOma: Nice try, nice try. kkOma: Nice try GG Keria: At the start of the season,
we were involved in a lot of
external events. This meant we couldn't practice as much as
other teams, especially during
a period when the meta had
significantly shifted. So in our first match, we... Within the team, we concluded
that it was the champion tier,
not our performance, that was the issue This perspective helped keep our spirits
from getting too low. Keria: I should've just called Bel'Veth
over at the end. I wasn't really thinking,
but opportunity presented itself
so I went for it. If I had the gate,
I would've done it. Faker: We could've stolen it.
That's too bad. Keria: If we stole it, we would've won. Faker: If we did, we would've won. Zeus: I was 1v1 against Udyr
with the Elder buff, thinking I would lose Faker: But if we had taken the Elder
and won, they would've been shook. Gumayusi: I could’ve stolen the Elder… Zeus: It was a good practice.
It was a scrim today. Before the start of the season I didn't want to dwell too much
on the results.
I thought we should learn from
and catch up with other teams in the beginning. kkOma: But since it's the start,
I wasn't impatient. I thought if we go at our own pace,
results will follow. So personally, I didn't attach too much
meaning to the first match. kkOma: Hey guys, did you turn off
the lights on purpose? Manager: No, they said the lights are
broken in this room. Faker: Hi. Gumayusi: They gave us a room
with broken lights? Faker: Wait, why are you wearing glasses? Tom: I couldn't see the map
properly before. Keria: Oh, who invited a guest? Tom: Nobody. Faker: Why are you copying my style,
by the way? Tom: I've always had these. Zeus: So Faker is the one copying him. Tom: Faker copied me actually. CloudTemplar: KDF was T1's scrim partner
during the last World Championship.
It was quite the hot topic. They're highly anticipated for their
performance as well. So today's match against T1 is generating
a lot of hype. Tom: Zac, aren't you going to Flash-Ult?
Zac! I mean... Oner: Leave Zac alone. Gumayusi: Bro, are you good at
playing Zac too? Tom: I'm pretty good. Gumayusi: Why are you wearing
glasses though? Tom: I can't see the map. Keria: I mean, you've been doing fine
all this time, and suddenly... Tom: When the map is far away,
I can’t see it clearly.
That’s why I was looking at
the computer screen in the back. Keria: Do you decide to watch on
the computer or TV before coming to
LoL Park? Tom: Nope. But for the later match... Keria: When Tom first joined T1
and introduced himself he said he wanted us to be comfortable
around him. So we've been casual with him from
the start, and it's still the same now. Zeus: From the very beginning,
when he joined he wanted to keep things casual. We like that kind of thing,
so I think we meshed well because of it. Overall, Tom’s cheeks are chubby and cute. Tom: I've never been upset with the team,
not even once. Even if they joke around,
I have a high tolerance for jokes. So I’m used to it. kkOma: The glasses you had earlier
belongs to you? Tom: Yes. kkOma: You should change your glasses. Tom: Why? kkOma: You look much better without them. Buy yourself a new pair of glasses. Tom: Those glasses are comfortable for me. Gumayusi: I think we can be casual
with Tom because he often shows
a lighthearted side making it easy for us to approach him in
a laid-back way. We can freely share feedback and ideas
with each other,
which I think is a great advantage. Staff: We will now do a sound check.
Head coach, please say something. Tom: Ah, ah, it's Udyr, Udyr. Zeus: Turtle shell. Oner: Stop it. Roach: Fighting. Keria: I’m sorry but, I'm gonna
charge Bot lane to smash the Turret. Oner: Me too. Keria: On my way. Where’s the Turret? No! Faker: How many solo kills is Zeus at now? Run back to Mid. What the heck? Geez Nice. Wow, you pulled that off, huh?! We can dive it. Let's dive, one, two, three! Ah, but we could've killed him. Go Go Go. I’ll tank. One, two, three! Going in! GG kkOma: Well played. I'll only head up to the stage
if things go sideways. Announcer: You called out
"Three, two, one",
but why didn't you dive? Oner: I meant we should go for the Nexus,
so I guess we had different ideas. Announcer: Ah, I see. How about you, Zeus? Zeus: I think my mouse slipped. Gumayusi: Only Faker was committed. kkOma: T1 had really good results last yea and I believe one of the reasons for
our success is the comfortable
relationship between the coach
and the players." I see it as a positive thing. But since everyone reacts differently
in various situations I think it's the coach's job
to handle that. Right now, though,
I think the team atmosphere is
really great. Oner: Is Jasmine(Cryptbloom) any good? Faker: It’s good, good. Oner: For real? Zeus: Can you sing 'Jasmine' for me then? Keria: Was it Death Blossom? Oner: The AP on that item is low, right? Faker: It has magic penetration. Oner: It has magic pen? Roach: It's like Void Staff. Oner: It has 30 magic pen? Keria: 30? Zeus: Yeah, it has magic pen. Faker: 30 percent. Zeus: It's a sister item to Void Staff. It Oner: It’s broken. Faker: You get it as a second core item,
just like Void Staff. Faker: Oner, I just hit Lv.6 on Rell
at 5:50. Zeus: You reached Lv.6 at 5:50? Faker: It takes 15 seconds to clear Voidgr Oner: Well obviously you'll hit Lv.6
if you farm jungle all day. Faker: What are you talking about? The XP is different when you clear
three Voidgrubs at once compared to two. Oner: For real? Faker: You gotta clear three
at the same time to get more XP. Oner: You sure about that? Faker: Seeing Faker play, you can tell
his passion is still off the charts and he seems to know everything down to the smallest details and numbers. I think he can apply data from the past to
the present day. He draws upon old data as it is and also utilizes newly accumulated data. He inputs new information in detail and accumulates data,
which is really impressive to see. Grouping three Voidgrubs
when clearing them is surprisingly tricky. Faker: It's not as easy as you might think Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Maybe it’s because I couldn’t farm. Roach: The tooltip says
Voidmites don’t give XP. Faker: I meant the Mini Krugs. Roach: Oh, the Mini Krugs. Faker: I was late in clearing the Mini Kru Previously, I was ahead of others,
so I thought those studies
and experiments were reliable or that I could analyze based on past data These days, there are so many
new mechanisms and interactions I find it rewarding to figure
these things out on my own
and tend to research them myself. I'm keeping an open mind about it all. What are you looking at? Manager: You looked first. Look at you,
going to strain your neck from turning. kkOma: It's been a long time
since I first saw Faker. He's maintained his level of play
from the beginning until now. Personally, I find that almost incredible. Maintaining such consistency
over time is tremendously difficult,
but... Fighting Faker. Do your best. Fighting. Faker: Let's just fight, let's go! Oner: Okay. Faker: Lucian can engage. Oner: Xin Zhao, Xin Zhao. Faker: What's this? This looks good,
let's take it slow. let's take it slow. Keria: Slowly, Xin Zhao first. Bottom looks good. Look, look. Look K’Sante. Gumayusi: I better reign damage on K’Sante Nice. Let’s end. GG Announcer: I think it would be great
if you could give us a little teaser
about the Worlds skin. Would that be possible,
to the extent you can share?
For both of you. Faker: First off, a lot of my input
went into the Orianna skin and I think it's going to
turn out amazing,
so I'm really excited for it. As pro gamers or public figures,
we receive a tremendous amount of
support and encouragement from the fans. I always try to remember
what a special privilege that is and if I can bring happiness
to those people it becomes a huge source of motivation
for me. It brings me great joy
to put in the effort. Staff: Please enter in order. Zeus: Whenever we hold fan meetings I'm always surprised by
how many fans show up. It can be a bit overwhelming
and embarrassing. But deep down
I'm always incredibly grateful... Oner: Having these fan meetings has
made me realize just
how many people are out there truly supporting me. It's a major motivating factor
when it comes to playing the game. Gumayusi: The significance of fans...
without fans, there would be
no pro scene either. That's something I'm always
keenly aware of. I think posting the gifts from fans things like that, really help
in communicating with them. Keria: I always feel the preciousness of
the fans on my debut anniversary
or any special occasion. I feel it all the time,
but I think I appreciate
the value of the fans even
more in those moments. Zeus: If we play like this,
Udyr might be stronger than Gnar. Tom: I'm telling you, Udyr is OP. Zeus: They played it so safe like this. Roach: There's no pressure. Tom: If I were playing Udyr,
I feel like I could just solo kill Gnar. Zeus: Ah, seriously, I could win
with one hand, one hand! It would be tough to win with one hand,
I need to kite. Tom: I'll show you how it's done, get on L Zeus: Want to bet 100,000 KRW? Tom: 100,000 KRW is too much. Zeus: There has to be an entry fee,
an entry fee. Tom: You're the one challenging me. Zeus: What are you going to play? Udyr?
What do I play? Tom: You? Gnar? I'll teach you a lesson. Zeus: Tom has this pride on Udyr. He keeps telling me to watch him play. He jokingly shows me replays. But honestly, when I watch,
he's pretty terrible. So before the match, to ease some tension we played together. Roach: Just play Gnar with one hand. Zeus: I'll have to play with one hand, the Tom: Giving yourself an excuse
in case you lose, huh? You're making an excuse
because you're afraid of losing to me,
aren't you? Zeus: What excuse,
I'm not the one losing here am I? You want me to take you out
without taking a single hit? Tom: Sure. Zeus: That could be challenging. Tom: I’m schooling you. I'll school you one more time. Roach: The waves aren't looking good for
Udyr right now Zeus: Udyr is already done for. Roach: Udyr doesn't use mana. Zeus: This is just an Udyr that's going to
get hit 100 times. Like a kids play. I mean, it's an Udyr’s about to get
smacked 300 times this game. Tom: What 300 hits? Roach: Wow you upgraded Q? Zeus: Wait, I don’t have any Ward? Roach: Whoa, that smack! Wow you dodged Gnar W?! Zeus: Oh, you’re good. Tom: I’m the boss. Zeus: You’re good! You’re zoned in on this?
What’re you trying to do here? Tom: You hit the wall even at 50%? Even though Udyr got reworked he's a champion I used to play well before and I think my mastery on him was higher. In the case of Udyr, Zeus actually
learned from me. Tom: You hit the wall? Zeus: I can't play this game anymore. I think Tom can make those jokes because he knows
he's not that good either. Gumayusi: Morgan picked Renekton? Zeus: I think Renekton was a good pick. Yup. Renekton was a good pick. I always thought Renekton had
his limits as a champion. Even now it's pretty much the same,
but back then I think he got a slight buff. So when he was picked in pro games, I honestly didn't think Renekton was
a good choice. I was really curious to see
how he'd perform with Renekton. Once he hit Lv.6, he cleared all
3 Voidgrubs by himself. So I thought, gotta respect
the Renekton pick. I was quite impressed. Wow Faker: How much XP does it give? Oner: What kind of crazy play is this? Zeus: Is he the god of League? Faker: It doesn't give XP, right? Zeus: But that Renekton pick is crazy,
I didn't see that coming. So this is the kind of play he prepared. Ah, he's really presenting a new paradigm. But Renekton with Sundered Sky wouldn't be
that good, right? Going Sundered Sky makes it iffy. Profane Hydra looks good on Renekton. Tom: Like Morgan's Renekton or DuDu's K’Sante if they seem to have a good build Zeus will try it out in scrims. Roach: If there's something to learn from their playstyle or item builds he always seem to make an effort to absorb
the strengths into his own play. Zeus: I'll last pick I have prio in Top lane. Wait, Aatrox no Flash. I messed up the laning phase this game. Keria: Let's take it slow, guys. Bottom looks good. I think we should focus on
the dragon slowly. Gumayusi: Ult is up now. Faker: It's not good, not good. Hey, don't go in, it's no good, no good. My Flash will be up first,
so let's prepare for Baron. Engage upwards. Corki went 100 to 0. Xayah, look Xayah. Look Aatrox. I’m not in reach, take it slow. Disengage, disengage. Better pull back carefully. Zeus: Let's take it slow,
I'll look for an opportunity. Below, below. Got him. I need cover! We can take this slow. It’s doable. Oner: Good shot. Zeus: I griefed. Keria: We did well this game. Gumayusi: Good effort. Faker: We won by luck. Zeus: Why did I mess up in
the laning phase, ah... It's a relief we won. Roach: I’ll just go and talk. Zeus: Yeah. Zeus: This is a typical scenario for
the Top lane and since League of Legends is
a five-player game mistakes made in lane can be
covered by teammates. That's why I don't dwell on such mistakes. But today felt like my worst performance
in this repeated scenario things just didn’t go as planned. I found myself wondering 'What went wrong?' Faker: Watching Zeus play I often see him deep in thought
or research very much like I used to be.
It's admirable, really. But while it's okay to be so focused now I think it might be better to look at
the bigger picture as he matures. I think it might be better to look at
the bigger picture as he matures. These are some thoughts I'm having. Khan: The meat is delicious. Zeus: Hey, how many solo queue games have
you played this season? Khan: 200? So it’s like… You can create up to five accounts, right? I have four accounts with decent points
from last season. The reason I can’t focus on just
one account is because of the chat bans...
playing five normal games as
punishment is tough. Zeus: That’s why you have
so many accounts. Khan: Yeah, to play around the accounts. Remember, always use kind words. Learn from my mistakes don't end up like me. Zeus: I first met Khan when I went pro and we hadn't seen each other since until he joined as a strategy analyst
at the Asian Games. We spent a month together
in a player-coach relationship. Yes, that’s our relationship. Was it a month? Khan: It feels short but it went by fast Zeus: though it felt very long at the time Khan: since every day was so tense. Honestly, playing with the national emblem brings its own pressure. Zeus: We'd wake up in the morning
to workout not really a workout, maybe stretching? Which I didn’t participate. I nearly died doing it. kkOma: The players who continued with
the exercises and stretching until the end were Faker and Kanavi. Kanavi said he’d go if I went so the three of us ended up going. Initially because we were national representatives,
an instructor came and we had to attend. I went out thinking ‘exercise is good’ but after a week my body started feeling
really weird. As it went on, fewer players were willing
to do it. Because there were too few of us the head coach joined in to participate
with us. I only did it for about a week. I remember you doing it for a week. Khan: I remember, but it wasn’t helpful. Zeus: I remember back then Kanavi said Renekton couldn’t beat Rumble. So you and I 1v1’d and I lost as Rumble. Khan: But Renekton can’t beat Rumble,
right? Zeus: I lost as Rumble back then. Khan: Really? I must have been too aggressive. Zeus: Right. It was surprising. I mean, Khan, you’re really good. You really mastered the champions,
didn’t you? Didn’t you do well on all the champs
when you were pro? Khan: When I was pro? It was all practice. That’s why… all the head coaches liked me. "Chatting ingame is like your passive,
it's incurable." They all let it slide because basically I practiced a lot. If you practice a lot
they generally tend to like it. At first you might not be able to do it but over time you get the feel of it. Zeus: You’re really good. Khan: And now every time I stream what I always say is the better you do, the better it is for me You know why? Zeus: Why? Khan: You played a few games in 2021,
right? Because I won two games against you, Zeus. Against Zeus? 2-0. Zeus: I couldn’t handle your Sion then. Khan: Because I had a 100% win rate. I might use it for a job in coaching later I could list that achievement ‘Teamed up with national representative
Zeus in Asian Games,’ for my career later. So you gotta step up, for my career! kkOma: I think Khan is one of
the best players hands down but Zeus is a bit inexperienced so I think Zeus could use the experience
and other help, so Khan was assigned to
take care of that. Whether it’s in-game or out, know-how
or anything else. Khan: Didn’t you have that initially,
the dream of becoming a pro gamer? Zeus: I’ve been playing LoL
since I was very young. One day I went to watch a baseball game
with my dad and right next to it that day
was the Worlds finals IG vs FNC. Khan: Oh, in 2018! Zeus: It was the day before the finals. Watching it next to the baseball stadium they were rehearsing there. Seeing it made my heart race and from then on I played
League seriously. Khan: Did you have that like an idol when you first went pro? I’m from way back in 2013-14. Back then the Top lane idols were Flame, really the old-timers… like MaRin and those guys.
Did you have that initially? Zeus: Kind of... what was it... The first pro gamer I met was Kiin. So I remember it was tough
experiencing that. Nuguri has always been someone I respected
and then… Khan: Ah, really whenever I meet him
in solo queue… Zeus: You, Khan, also in 2019... Khan: But I... 2019? I'm not sure. Zeus: I even went to the finals then.
Summer splits maybe? That was when Sona performed during the sh Khan: We still won both Spring and Summer. Zeus: Bro, you played Akali vs Mordekaiser
then. Khan: That was against Doran, right,
the Griffin match. You have a good memory! Your brain is still young and fresh. Zeus: I started closely watching
Top laners at pro plays back in 2019 particularly Khan since he was with SKT T1 I was a big fan and rooted for him. At that time, I was still in school and when I told my friends I was joining
SKT T1 as a trainee they were skeptical because Khan was there
and questioned how I could
possibly compete. It seemed like a dream back then,
but now I'm actually doing it. The former pro players played the game
so well and I learned a lot from them. Khan: It didn’t happen to me,
but if I had won Worlds I think I would have just relaxed
completely stretched out, and lived comfortably,
you know? Zeus: I thought achieving that would
bring me peace of mind
and a sense of leisure but that feeling didn't last,
it feels almost like an old memory now. Khan: It's understandable. I remember feeling incredible when I first won the LCK, but that high
ended that very day. From then on, I was driven to win again to recapture that feeling. Zeus: Nice mindset. Khan: Winning is like a drug to me a rush in my brain that makes me crave more victories. That's why I kept going even though I never managed to win a
n international title. But honestly Zeus: I think competing in Worlds is
really thrilling especially from a player's perspective. The biggest thing I gained from
the Asian Games was confidence. I never felt like I was going to
lose at Worlds which I think positively impacted
my gameplay. They say performance typically dips after reaching a peak at Worlds. Khan: Like experiencing burnout. Zeus: So, I've always been cautious
about that. Khan: Are you cautious about burnouts? Zeus: Fearful about it. Khan: When expectations are high it can be unnerving. Zeus: Right, I feel you. But ultimately, I believe the most
important thing is self-satisfaction. Being content with oneself is key. Khan: That's a healthy mindset. Zeus: I thought I learned that from you, K Khan: Really? I've never done that,
what could you possibly have learned
from me? You really know how to butter someone up. Khan: There's a saying once can be chalked up to luck,
but twice is proof of skill. The third time? That's mastery. So in my view, if someone wins Worlds
about three times then they can probably relax. Zeus: Wasn’t that what you said? Khan: No, that was The Shy. But it really is true. I think getting one chance might
happen to anyone but proving yourself starts from the second time. Look, who else has two Worlds wins
in the LoL scene? Players from SKT T1. Apart from legends like Faker, Bang, and W
recently it’s only BeryL who has achieved
similar success, right? It really makes you want to aim for it. Zeus: Worlds is definitely important. Khan: No doubt about it. Zeus: Though I won Worlds last year it’s really just history now. Because it’s an annual event I believe you always need to come back
stronger and avoid becoming obsolete. kkOma: Maintaining your position at the to is incredibly challenging. It might sound easy in words but it’s much harder in practice. For example, if you decide to give up and choose something
more enjoyable instead coming back becomes… really difficult. That's why people often talk
about 'maintaining.' Literally, to 'maintain' means that nothing has changed and that’s one reason
I think Faker is so impressive. Zeus: Did they change their Support? Tomi: Looks like the whole Bot lane
got switched up. Zeus: Who’s the ADC now? Tom: ADC Samver? Keria: What did he pick in pro play? Just show me his recent stats. What are his most played champions? Looks like Nautilus and Rakan are
his most played champs. Roach: Karma was his most played until
I checked yesterday. Tom: Now it’s Karma, Rakan, Nautilus. Varus & Nautilus, Jinx & Nautilus comps,
huh? We should probably ban Nautilus. We should probably ban Nautilus.
He plays a lot of Nautilus. Caster: With Samver and Pollu
being put in the starting lineup we’ll get to see a variety of
OK Savings Bank Brion’s lineups. Samver: My debut match is against T1,
so I was really nervous,
but I'll try my best to stay calm
and show up. Pollu: Given this great opportunity,
I'll make sure to do my best. Faker: Gnar, wow! They got it!
They got it! Now run for your life! Wow. Keira: How many times was it stolen today? Faker: Three times. Gumayusi: How does Sponge even manage
in the game? Oner: But those who steal have
the upper hand,
so it's unavoidable, really. Tough luck. kkOma: What came to my mind,
the staff should avoid talking to
the rookies called up from CL and just let them relax. And with all the senior players around,
it must feel incredibly pressured to play. Zeus: Such a shame. I remember back in 2022 when we were preparing for
the Spring splits I was incredibly nervous. I lacked confidence in myself and felt mentally unstable. I think I was obsessing too much
especially about certain matchups
or setups. I think I was obsessing too much
especially about certain matchups
or setups. Does GIDEON gank a lot? Tom: He does. Oner: GIDEON ganks Top often, I think. Tom: Sometimes he goes after 5 camps,
sometimes he doesn’t fully camp. Zeus: Okay. Staff: Let's start the game. Fighting. Gumayusi: Bottom Turret is down. Oner: Got it. Faker: Nice. Keria: Let’s swap Top and Bottom. Zeus: Yeah, got it. Oner: J4 is up top, Zeus,
just so you know. Faker: Maybe he’s here? Keria: Top, Top, Top. J4 no Flash. So close. Zeus: Aatrox doesn’t have TP,
might be a good time to push Top
and take the Turret. Gumayusi: Good timing for a swap. Keria: Once the Turret is down,
we'll head Mid. Oner: It’s down, right? Nice. Keria: Yeah, it’s down. Caitlyn’s spoon-fed. Gumayusi: Hard fed alright. Faker: Better disengage. We took it down. Gumayusi: J4’s collapsing on us again. Oner: They can try Baron with Azir. Keria: Look K’Sante. Zeus: Think I’m dead. Faker: What? Tough luck. Zeus: I can TP in 13. Faker: They might start Baron. I don’t think we can reset. Keria: Azir’s rooted. Oner: I can Ult in 20. Zeus: J4 no Flash. Faker: I have Zhonya’s. Zeus: He has Zhonya’s. Gumayusi: Looks like a good
opportunity for me. Faker: Give him Penta, Penta. Gumayusi: Give me Penta! Faker: Hey, Mid, Mid! Nice. Keria: Feels like it’s been years
since I lane swapped from Bottom to Top. kkOma: And the fact that you even went to
Mid- Zeus, you're a genius, but the 22-minute
mark was the only regret. I don't usually express disappointment
in your play, but that was, well... Zeus: I was so powerless, really. kkOma: The 22-minute mark,
that was really... Zeus: The game was so one-sided When the Bot Turret was destroyed,
I almost tilted. Gumayusi: Why? Zeus: It doesn’t make sense what could I do? Gumayusi: Why? Zeus: Did the Bot Turret go down
at 7 minutes? Gumayusi: But why would that tilt you? Zeus: It’s tilting. kkOma: You know what’s worse, Zeus? Gumayusi: It wasn’t even our Bot Turret
that fell, it was theirs. kkOma: And around 11 or 12 minutes,
our Bot duo was hitting the Mid Turret. They did a good job demolishing
the Turrets. If J4 wasn't there at the second fight,
you would have gotten a solo kill, right? Zeus: Yes. kkOma: Let's consider it a solo kill. Your Ult angle was right. Your angle was right. Faker: I agree. Zeus: That’s true, it’s stressful. Roach: And you kept winning anyway. kkOma: Zeus, your call was right.
Enemy Jungler shouldn’t have been there. Yeah, your call was right,
clear the waves and base. Well played, Zeus.
That was practically a solo kill. J4 shouldn’t have been there.
Your play was solid. Zeus: I did think J4 might be there then. kkOma: That feeling is really
the best as a player because no matter how well you played you always want to improve on the areas
where you weren't as strong. It’s about striving to enhance
your performance and I really appreciate that aspect. I've never seen this before. I guess Zeus gets really down on himself
when he doesn't play well. He looks so downcast. It's actually kind of cute. It would be really great if he could keep
that passion throughout his career. Oner: Fight might break out in
the lower camps. Faker: Got it. Caster: That’s the first ever 3K kills
in the LCK! Staff: Faker has reached 3K kills. Keria: What's our next move? Ggoggo: There’s a lot of talk about
how much the fans love him,
3,000 times over. It shows the enduring affection
they have for Faker. CloudTemplar: As Faker continues to break
records, the players involved in those
3K kills probably feel their efforts have
paid off too. Gumayusi: Zac is OP. Zeus: Absolutely killer. Keria: Zac is OP! Zeus: Seen Zac’s damage output? His damage is off the charts,
check out the teamfight. Gumayusi: I was surprised here. Faker: Why didn’t you go for Abyssal Mask? Zeus: Didn’t have space for Abyssal Mask. Roach: Couldn’t fit Abyssal Mask in. Zeus: No POG for Zac? Gumayusi: Should be Taliyah for POG. Faker: I dealt more damage,
so it should be me. Zeus: It’s only a 500 difference! Gumayusi: Plus, he’s just reached 3K kills
that should count for extra points. Faker: Now, when it comes to records,
I always aim to set new highs. These records sometimes feel
more about longevity than
exceptional performance. But of course, doing well in
your professional role matters. If I achieve many such milestones I think a lot of people will appreciate it and I’m committed to continuing my effort. Announcer: Today, Keria, you really
stood out with Lux as if it was Lux Mid. Keria: That’s right. Announcer: As a shoutout
let's give a resounding
'Demacia' right here! Keria: Demacia! Announcer: We’ll be rooting for you. Again, congratulations on the win
and thanks for the interview. Oner: Look at this steamed egg,
this place is a real gem! Keria: Yeah, the steamed egg
isn’t bad at all." Faker: Pork jowl rice is delicious. Zeus: Let me have a bite. Faker: Go ahead, help yourself sir. Zeus: Thank you. I'm craving a drink. Gumayusi: Just order one. kkOma: What? Why?
I’m going to the bathroom! Just sit tight. Stay put, and eat. Oner: Look what you’ve done… Keria: When the head coach didn’t say
anything I turned around and noticed
he was getting up while eating. Zeus: I hadn't realized
what was happening. Faker: What did you say? Gumayusi: Zeus was hinting the head coach. Zeus: I said I wanted a drink. I was about to head to
the vending machine to get one. So I was asking if you guys wanted it…
"Who wants a drink?" Keira: It’s a setup by Zeus. Faker: It's kind of a setup to get
someone to bring him drink. Our head coach takes good care
of the players but I wonder if he's being extra attentive
because Zeus is still young. Are you always caring like this? PD: Are you always caring like this? kkOma: II'll do everything
I can for the team. It's just that, it’s my first time
with this machine. Zeus: Up until now, my conversations were
mostly with the other players
up to Tom. But then, the head coach suddenly
stood up, and I was so flustered! "Oh no," I thought. But it's because he's so caring
that I get flustered. Faker: Thank you. kkOma: Does anyone else want more Coke? Oner: Woah, we're good. Keria: We should pay for it ourselves. kkOma: I really want to show
that I'd like to help no matter how small. Big or small I just really want to help the team. That's why I acted that way. If I could, I'd like to get a
physiotherapy license
while being a head coach. But I just talk about it
without doing anything. When your neck hurts, everything hurts. Keria: That's true. Zeus: Where do you massage with that? Faker: This? The sore spots. It loosens up the muscle. kkOma: Even if it's 2:1, let's just win. Alright, everyone, get ready and set up. Let's go setup. Gumayusi: Let’s go. kkOma: Zeus Fighting. Alright, I won't pressure you.
No 'fighting'." Fighting, Guma. Fighting! You guys got this. Zeus: Ah… Oner… I mean… Oner is using the DRX Aatrox skin... Ack! Man, Oner… Not just any skin,
the DRX Prestige Aatrox skin bringing back all those bad memories.
How do I deal with this? He’s messing with your mental. Oner: I'll make sure you remember it! Zeus: I was doing a 1v1 with Oner and I believe I was up against Kingen
during the match. And he started playing Aatrox and said something like,
"I'll make sure you remember it." I wondered why he was trying to mess
with my head. Oner: Rather than playing mind games,
I meant that he should pretend
I was Kingen and really zone in on it to train hard together. Zeus: You’re such a noob on Aatrox! Oner: What do you mean I’m a noob! Ack! Zeus: Wait, what? You're going with THAT s Oner: Please. No! Why are you playing so dirty? Caster: It's a showdown between Zeus
and Kingen, and Zeus has been
on fire lately. CloudTemplar: Absolutely, Zeus has always
been an incredible player but right now, he's really in peak form. Faker: You can gank Mid first.
Gank Mid. All her abilities are on cooldown. Come. I drained her Ult.
Just make sure to use your W properly. NoFe: Faker totally baited him in! Zeus: Varus is Bot. I think I’m dead. Farewell. Tough luck.
Gnar no Flash. Oner: Azir, help us. Faker: Hold up, I’m on it. Gumayusi: Three, two, one. Faker: Play for fight. Keria: Took down Sejuani. I'll pressure them from behind. Zeus: Come. Varus probably has his Ult, heads up. Gumayusi: Akali. Faker: Good, heading Top. Gumayusi: Varus. Q in 3. Man, you’re so strong. kkOma: Wow, Faker, you scared me at first. Faker: In the laning phase? kkOma: I mean, it wasn’t really
about any mistakes,
you just survived by a hair. Faker: You mean when I got the kill? There was no real danger of dying, though. kkOma: Well played. Oner: Akali's Ult had me really on edge. kkOma: Well played! Faker: But I did take the damage. Yeah, I took the damage. Oner: Right, you took the damage… but… Do you know how tense that was?
In that situation? From your perspective, it was a close call
but Azir knew he wouldn’t die. kkOma: For Game 2, like
we discussed earlier we’ll just face them head-on, right? Zeus: Aatrox are the highest-tier picks,
right? Roach: From our perspective, yes. In this game, there’s a high chance
we’ll pick Aatrox for Top. Zeus: Aatrox vs K’Sante. Oner: They can see me.
Aatrox, can you come slowly? Zeus: Yeah, I’ll go. We can play this. Keria: Looks like an opportunity. Oner: I'll approach slowly. Faker: We’re being pulled in. Gumayusi: Getting pulled in deep. Zeus: Can you come? It's not bad. Keria: Take it slow. Oner: Cover me. Gumayusi: Watch K’Sante. Faker: We won up here. Zeus: Cover me. Oner: I’m on my way. Come this way. kkOma: Nice. Zeus: They’re engaging. Faker: I can pop Zhonya’s. Zeus: Yeah, on my way. Oner: Watch me. Eat me. Xayah no Flash. Zeus: Look Xayah. Oner: She doesn’t have Flash now. Keria: Look Xayah. Oner: Follow-up on me slowly. Xayah, Xayah. Look Xayah. Look here. Look Xayah. Keria: Can we take down K’Sante? Zeus: I’ll cover you. Keria: Yeah, come. I won't die. Zeus: Ah, I could've done better
in that teamfight. Tough luck. Faker: Didn't play well. Zeus: I can't always be the key influencer
in every game. This is why having the right mindset is
so crucial. If I sense that I might not contribute
significantly and strategize accordingly. There are also times when stepping up is necessary and understanding and executing my role
effectively becomes critical. This flexibility is essential
for any skilled player. Tom: Zeus, for instance even after a win, if he feels
his performance was subpar he becomes introspective. Roach: While this attitude can be
challenging it's also instrumental for growth. Providing the right support it can significantly enhance
his performance and career. Zeus: As part of a team with
a rich history and numerous championships it's been a while since our last major international or LCK title. This motivates me to contribute
to rebuilding T1's legacy of success. When I was called up in Spring 2022 I expressed my determination to help rebuild T1's legacy. While we did manage to secure
a LCK championship I remember that we've often finished
as runners-up since then. It's a tough and challenging journey which makes me reflect a lot on
the difficulties of consistently reaching
the top. Ultimately, winning Worlds Championship proved to us that we could
achieve success. Looking ahead to 2024 I'm eager to achieve major wins again and relive those high moments. Caster: I’ve been broadcasting for over 20 and this is the first time
I’ve felt such regret and helplessness. Keria: When it paused, it was like... I was very worried about my future
since this is my only way to make a living I've spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of player I need to be to help
grow e-sports and make it more known to everyday people,
just like Faker has.
