Chrissy oh we'll the cause of the earthquake yes yes sometimes it's not always tectonic plates you know it's not always the sun sometimes it's fat women dancing yeah it was lizo announc back Jesus comics comics put him back on the bottom put him on the bottom get down there been elevated really I got swapped for Odin not x-ray girl yeah that that's a good point that's a really good point welcome to Friday night tights everybody uh yes uh apparently last episode was a bit too spicy for YouTube can't imagine why can't I blame everybody's been blaming Gund I blame Shad a saucy one last week does somebody want to give me just a quick rundown the list of words not to say on this street can someone just give me that list them out right now all the gamer words just every gamer word you can think of maybe uh an hour and a half conversation about gay black rappers might have had something to do with it you know which apparently all of them are now so I don't know it's hard to well they made a joke about that in the Boondocks too which is pretty funny it was called the down low I don't know what it's called anymore hey and uh some other conversations that we probably don't want to get into this early anyway although I'm about to transition over to talking to asz what's up asz uh I'm good I'm good I'm good uh that's it thank you uh Ryan what's up baby boy I like A's background uh this officially check box I like it it's good not like the weird Corner he was doing before so I'm Ready the only reason there's no weird Corner is because I'm still sorting out the weird Corner yeah dude you're you're in you're in weird Corner look at you talking about Mine mine's always been like this though as was like this he got everybody used to it then he switched on us he wanted to change I am afraid of change you kidding me it's like my entire personality I make every decision in my life everything religious social culturally everything I hate change so thank you pleasure I got nothing to add to that at all uh thanks for being here Ryan you're welcome what's up Chrissy mayor I'm on a ball it's supposed to be good for my pelvis okay nice that's that's good that's what all the men tell me but I don't know if I believe it um is isn't is isn't a ball like what put that thing up your pelvis that's true that's true I feel so fat I'm 180 pounds I have my own gravitational pole welcome to my world as is like I wish I was 180 pounds yeah I pray God all right Chrissy Chrissy told us that black Twitter was very upset with her today I think the real reason they're upset is because she stole their internet I think that's what's going on oh no I don't know what the happening oh Jeremy and Shad are on assignment today but quarter black Garrett's here recovering from uh whatever the hell you had uh I lost an entire week I don't even know what happened I was in bed for like 4 days straight uh don't know what's going on I'm glad to be here okay well we we'll let you know what's going on I mean you're just kind of running the show it's kind of shitty that you don't know what's going on but we'll figure it out because we don't know what's going on either what's up Odin what's up blessed Easter everybody uh I'm excited to talk about the the whole dial of Destiny numbers because yeah what they're reporting it's like at least at least at least $100 million off ready and it's a lot more than that that's just a little bit that's just a little bit just a it's close to 300 million I think yeah yeah it's pretty bad but they reported as $130 million loss which is just it's just a joke of a headline to be honest with you yeah at least they're growing right they're admitting some loss usually they're just like oh we did lose money what you talking well they can't hide it that's the only reason they're admitting it because they know other people they're trying to get out ahead of it because they know other people will report on it first so it's wild because Carolyn Reed or whatever her name is at Forbes she she does all the breakdowns of the numbers she gets from the UK and all that stuff but then is so retardedly ignorant about the way any of the money's spent like the fact that you're you're not even guessing or factoring in marketing at all in that movie and you just put your headline as $130 million losses is insane to me yep oh yes and we'll talk about that got a lot to talk talko about hi comics division what's up little guy hey Gary how are you looking forward to uh next week man Vegas a lot of fun for to it it is going to be fun we're going to be doing our our next show uh if there is one um in Vegas never know is one if there well if there is one you never know you never know what uh there's an eclipse coming and it could just destroy us all we don't know is there any D so if I'm actively in an airplane during an eclipse is that going to with anything like with the maybe if you're in Boeing the pilots but I mean just don't look at it air actual flight the pilots might affect that too you know just make sure your pilot is not stupid and looking straight at it I would do a Chrissy check on that one I would do a Chrissy mayor check on picture yeah there's no vaginas in the cockpit I yeah I'm expecting there could be cockpits in the vaginas huh i i a a vagina is basically a cockpit that's all I know so um but yeah I'm expecting just killed Odin I'm expecting to have a black transgender lesbian in a wheelchair as my pilot and you know I'm just gonna I'm be okay with that we're gonna we're gonna make she's also going to play galatis that that's what a coincidence I'm going to be the Survivor I'm going to be the Survivor it's going to be all right you know what will what if she's gender fluid and she's constantly changing with how much you hate change you know they can make a whole TV show about you like the Lone Survivor who doesn't have survivors guild at all you're like I made it all right like I'm good are you the only one flying Ryan not him I there's I mean I don't know if I'm the only one flying or not I don't know what everybody else's plan is but I ain't gonna drive I'm not not like oh that drive is too far not like Jeremy I'm not gonna drive from I'm driving too oh I'm driving you're at least you're driving from Texas like that's a one-day drive you know like if you really stretch it out yeah where Jeremy's that's like 30 hour drive or something it is and he's driving right now listening to us you're an idiot a I want to make sure I didn't forget oh wait she doesn't like people ex day hi everyone I'm so excited next week I get to drink but I have to say I played sexy Asian girl simulator and uh it was really fun Stellar blade is really really really really fun and very sexy and you should uh definitely try out that game that everyone is hating right now the W people so that's what people were talking about last I didn't know what the hell somebody super chated me and said how can I get an in with you in the sexy Asian simulator I'm like that's not even appropriate to ask me I I don't even know ask Mark simulator x-ray girl and Chrissy are sharing Wi-Fi apparently don't know what going on Canadian Wi-Fi is it I mean internet she looks like a she looks like a oh my God I was gonna say screencap that the wayo was frozen she looked like a caricature of an Asian person how women deal with the internet how men deal with the Internet it's hey we just deal with it whatever it's fine Mark help me here I come oh hi Mark that's what he says everyway you get well done well done now I have and uh obviously Jeremy and Shad aren't here so we brought in some pros we'll start out with with uh our ho Chris Gore wouldn't call that little plon my bro my bro ho what's up Frank uh doing good you know survived um Wonder con even though it was completely empty um but not a total loss uh that was fun and then I don't know just chat I always look forward to chatting with you on the nunar on Wednesdays and happy to be here excited to talk Fantastic 4 News yay oh dude you're actually yes you're such a good guest for today by the way where was Wonder con yeah hey uh that was in Anaheim and it was a a a con that normally attracts about 100,000 people and it was empty all weekend it was bizarre I've never seen anything like it is it normally on Easter well yes it's on Easter before yeah that's not a big deal it's I really believe it's twofold the economy and the collapse of all the large IP because no no one was there not a Marvel not a DC not a Star Wars nothing they had no booths not even the big comic like a fanog graphics that no one and so it was weird it was like a con from the 90s so I didn't mind it I got to look at a lot of comics and hang out and um I did Lobby con which is basically sneaking drinks into the hotel bar so you're not paying 15 bucks for a vodka soda I'm the king of that might have to rep repre that in Vegas but um yeah no it was uh sad to see actually so and I'm happy to be here as a last minute replacement Jeremy good luck on the drive if you're listening right uh and then we we definitely have to discuss how you and I uh through all of our Decades of collecting completely missed Juno Silver Surfer and Shala Ball's uh 200 issue run as a seminal character and she's far more iconic than norn rad I can't wait to break that down with you because I don't know how I missed it uh I've never heard I missed it I mean look to be fair there are a lot of really dumb characters that you just sort of like they just don't resonate you know they test characters in comics and then they either take off like a wolverine or they're a dud and last in issue so yeah I'm excited to talk about it and that was my overly long intro there you go yeah and uh last but not least we have the little platoon joining us what's up my friend thank you for having me we needed some uh British representation so we got we go again normally we call Comics the little PL holy he's a little pup tent he's the little pup tent uh platoon has a better accent than you you Northern [Laughter] scum Old English class Warfare on the stream North versus South divide yeah we we got a little bit of that going on here too you know I love your accent it's very pinky up it is this is true I actually do drink with my pinky up as well so it's it's not just the accent it's it's everything is is Pinky up here I bet you do everything with your pinky up you jerk off abely 100% you jerk off with your pinky up special special little edging technique that goes on there I could go further I man little tickl going we gotta keep the uh yeah well I know the chat is demanding more uh bet news and and rapper news uh we might do a segment that might become a segment eventually like we could do the gay black R this weekend gay black rappers I don't know that sounds bad um black R news but we can well as people are rolling it for Diddy that was every week yeah so it is what it is dude that is like out of the news like what happened there were supposed to be subpoenas and grand juries and all this what happened I don't think they know where he at I don't think they know where he's at yet so like what are they gonna do the still on the run I would try epine Island I would there is vaces now there there is vacancies he wants to relive past glories didn't Matt laau have like a button installed in his desk where like the doors to his office just like slammed shut and locked yes right allegedly yeah yeah that was pretty pretty strange thank you for the save there Comics appreciate it no I mean I remember hearing that too so yeah allegedly he had it that's weird hey uh as people are rolling in uh there was a major disaster in New York City today I'm sure you have you've heard about it they had a 4.8 earthquake 4 immigration a 4.8 earthquake that led to the airport being shut down they shut down the subway they called out the mayor for a press conference and there was two hours of Co I'm watching it at the gym and I'm cracking up at this at this like if there's aftershocks take cover I'm like What's the Aftershock going to be a 2.0 Jesus Christ it's it's not about the size it's about how you use it Gary all right okay okay it was 4.8 but I told him it felt like a 6.5 yeah I think we now know that Gary's a size queen 4.8 for him big enough he probably got he probably got spoiled in prison listen I'm from California who get on a lot deservedly let me have this okay let me have the New Yorkers being a bunch of when earthquake comes Jes average in California it's not even a big deal dud Chrissy you had a you had a theory on what happened oh yes I do I do have a theory so and uh yeah this comes off the heels of lizo so maybe she's retiring maybe not I think it's all connected I think it is too I think it is too it hit it hit [Music] it Li just kind of get in there was earlier [Music] today what fill it in a few different times just to kind of get a real deep color and kind of go in here at the botom they just were having oh man we have an exclusive we found the answer thank you Christy Mayer well done all of those women are going to need like hip and knee Replacements by the time the 35 dud they proba already sh like Chrissy you've obviously you know gained a baby's worth of weight how much your joints hurt just because of that imagine being those women out there jumping around and shitzy this is how fat people feel all the time it's horrible I get it I hell man I I didn't say anything to you guys I'm winded just putting shoes on well welcome to my world Chris is like yeah I try to walk everywhere my bell is in the way and as is like yeah yeah feel you that getting up at night to eat yeah I'll feel you there sister hey uh apparently um we don't know the meaning of the word woke everyone and uh really yeah it's like like we've never heard this argument before but man this is the final word because it comes from a 73-year-old former weatherman who just figured out gaming is popular with kids about a month ago thanks Baba he seems like the authority The Authority absolutely totally I don't care what the weatherman says if the weatherman says it's woke um remember in in New York when he was uh gay well I mean there's that it's New York no when he was asked unironically I forgot it was like a New York Times thing we we all got video out of it when he said um that there wasn't enough Superion for the POC uh director uh so he was asked unironically like uh about woke like somebody brought it up and it wasn't a joke and he responded to it and that's where he responded saying hey uh we don't want to be political but I don't see certain things as political I see it as right and wrong I am the Martin Luther King of grooming children that that's the jeez that's the problem is I I pulled up in my video I did today I brought up those National articles that had the same headline two years apart Bob Iger plans to quiet the noise in the culture War a year later Bob Iger says he's working to quiet the noise in the culture war and now just right as the uh shareholders meeting was going on Bob Iger says that they're prioritizing entertainment over agenda two hours before the Silver Surfer announc like so he continues to say these things like you know we're not concerned with political ideology that's not us we're concerned with storytelling but if we can you know help acceptance and things like that along the way then that's good bober has said multiple times that he feels like some of the more radical they're doing in terms of gender affirmation like all this stuff he thinks it's just as important as opposing the Nazis in World War II as supporting the civil rights movement in the 60s like he is on record saying that multiple times so when he says that we're not concerned with political ideology he he's he thinks that that shit's not political There's No Agenda there and it's just lie after lie from this dude yeah and then Khloe Cole rolls and destroys him that was awesome that awesome that was good maybe we should watch that again later but uh yeah it's it it really it shows how much of an indictment it is on his legacy like obviously this stuff is in his head now and this is the second proxy fight there there might be another one I not sure I doubt it'll succeed either but the fact that he's been fighting to justify his existence there with a bunch of yes-men around him who and women who don't give a crap this guy has overseen the destruction of two of the biggest IPS in the world has ever seen uh and neither of whom he created and had any part in the creation he bought he bought one was uh questionably not at its peak well Star Trek Star Wars wasn't at its peak but Marvel was Marvel was absolutely at its peak when they bought it and uh they officially took it over I think it was after the Avengers because Avengers is still a Paramount film Uh Kevin feige officially took it over uh with booting ik Pearl mutter at Civil War and it's been downhill ever since and uh they want and people voted to keep this guy's job and it's like fine I'm fine I'm glad he got everything he wants and it is f we will talk about female S Silver Surfer that was announced two hours afterwards but um this kind of comes off as a little bit of cope but it also comes off as he feels a little emboldened right he feels like okay I'm safe now I'm emboldened I'll just go back to repeating the same I said four times last year in an interview with uh at Disney uh HQ which I'm sure was uh really authentic uh the CEO addressed Elon musk's repeated complaints about Disney going woke it's not just Elon Musk uh but also said that his company cares more about entertainment than making uh content with a message that's a bunch of horeshit really really yeah Bob Iger has a message for those criticizing Disney for being too woke uh the Disney CEO sat for an interview with at uh Disney HQ on Thursday and directly addressed high-profile critics including Elon Musk and Nelson pelts about the direction in which he's uh steering the entertainment boohemoth that's a good uh good definition of it I like how you added the O the boohemoth the bo behemoth Booth I I want a little Alabama there just because we missed Jeremy sorry it's a boohemoth uh in the interview with CNBC reporter David Faber Iger maintain that Disney is not primarily concerned with infusing messaging into its programming and that it remains an entertainment first company um could have fooled me yeah yeah could have fooled a lot of people yeah I mean that's that's what the business is now and that's why there's YouTubers that's why there's little platoon and Ryan and everybody here because they just come out and lie it's it's all it's all staged it's all for those of you who listen to the call Chris and I had to bow out uh because it was an automated uh qu so question an answer and the voice asking the question sounded automated sounded AI straight up AI yeah it was so they so they vetted all those questions so someone read them said this is an okay thing to ask Iger and then he was more robotic than the robotic voice yes I'm sure that was all pre-recorded too yes 100% it it well it is and his his victory speech was probably written two or three days prior to the vote uh and yes they are the ones who leaked out the information uh and uh nothing will happen to him but it is against the rules but you know these these did you see their ads they were like the worst political ads uh against Nelson pelts not that he was going to win but then he read his answers so a robot asked a question and then he read prepared answer uh thankfully those two calls in the beginning came in and just roasted the out of them great uh can't wait to work with Bob Iger and uh oh hang on sorry uh musk had driven it upon himself to wage a war against iger's vision of Disney the ex CEO who report uh repeatedly called out Iger and Disney for being too woke posting on April Fool's Day that he was joining the company as the chief de officer barely beating out Ryan kennel by the way uh can't wait to work with Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy to make their content more woke the Mogul wrote even uh the Linguini uh this yeah yeah read that part go up a little more go up a little more uh this apparently was must attempt at a funny joke oh like they they the person that's writing this doesn't even know the South Park thing no no they so they have no understanding or reference that's why they're like clueless to it uh and even by putting that sentence in parenthesis you have re you have revealed the type of article that this is and that no one should take you seriously yeah I slightly prefer it there because quite often what you'll get is in arttic Outlets like Vanity Fair you'll get them taking very obvious jokes as though they're literally true which is I think worse like it's like like Donald Trump will say something which is obviously supposed to be funny I'm going to be a dictator on day one and then the entirety of of the med oh my God Donald Trump is literally telling us he's going to be a dictator like no he's he's quite clearly telling a joke so at least they recognized that this is supposed to be funny that's a step up it is but maybe they're forced to because it was April Fool's Day I'm just thinking uh deadline did an entire article on his joke and at the hang on scroll don't go well yeah we we already know the Tweet you're right sorry bad my bad um and at the the last line the last paragraph of the article is basically saying you know uh it was followed by uh basically uh mainstream media Twitter speculating that it's it's or or just complaining that it's difficult to tell a joke from reality in uh today's world it's like yeah whose fault is that Iger certainly wasn't laughing I ignore it Iger told fabber of Musk pestering there's no relevance to the Walt Disney uh there's no relevance to the Walt Disney Company or to me uh actually it's entirely revent uh relevant wow re and revent and revent three high schools you that's that's the same thing that's the same thing he said to investment boohemoth uh trian when Nelson Peltz was being CR called that's the same type of thing that Bob I ignore it I don't I don't worry about it it's just a distraction yeah they spent a lot of money fending off that distraction 70 million is that true or is that I don't know that's what I heard but I mean well obviously it was on Twitter so it was true obviously obviously while he's not concerned with musk's comedic stylings Iger did indirectly address uh musk's notion that Disney has been going woke promising that the company's focus on entertainment uh rather than moralization infusing messaging as the sort of a number uh sort of number one priority in the I got to blow that up a little bit Garrett okay my eyes are just so bad it's not big enough for me right now read the first line dude Vanity Fair is trash because when you when you blow it up it blows up this stupid ad at the bottom yeah please pay us $3 so you could read our shitty opinions no that was a really good that was a really good Vanity Fair impression uh infusing messaging as the sort of number one priority in our films and TV shows is not what we're up to they need to be entertaining okay he's just going to come out and say but uh what are the actions of this company what were the actions two hours later that's what we're building up to by the way yeah words is what we're hearing oh man so are we going to be calling it The Silver Surf her yes yes oh yeah oh yeah yes yeah boy I although I did like the silver suffragette uh that was pretty good too yeah that was good that was good I like that one saw that one on Twitter so use whatever you like you know I was like gonna back off on MCU like a little bit you know so I'm like they're not putting out as much stuff and it's Deadpool and we're getting Agatha sure but I was like but no they're not gonna so why should I uh and look where the Disney Company can have a positive impact on the world World which is probably trying to entertain people which you are incapable of right now whether it's fostering acceptance and understanding of people of all different types except for those who don't believe exactly as we do great but generally speaking we need to be an entertainment first company and I've worked really hard to do that how's the box office RS yeah have you though I mean that would say everything to me just looking at those one movie last year made a profit all the others made a huge loss so what I will say even though this is but to defend him is that he like those movies were already in production basically set for release like established by the time he came back as CEO however he was still on the board you know what I mean he still had a lot of Disney that entire time and he green he was in charge of market like he would have been the top guy for when they were marketing the film so yeah still on him he was the one pushing for for for D+ to start earlier he was the one who greenl most of that not all but the vast majority of it he greenl it because it was in production and and going into production including like just uh during his Reign he was only technically gone right for 11 months for 11 months well and we're still seeing shitty sequels after shitty remakes after liveaction versions of their animated movies it's still coming out Moana coming out 2025 Toy Story five is coming out 2026 like the is still coming down you haven't stopped anything no no you can pull the article because it's all it's like uh uh uh musk came out and back uh pelts like after the voting it ended yeah it's like point he was that was literally just a way to poke at Bob Iger and like irritate him it was never a serious thing no no but in the in that vanity fa article in that last paragraph he had just to mention it it was it said Disney reportedly spent 40 milli million doll on their counter campaign that's and that's from a little off from 70 yeah who knows what the real number is but you we don't know what the real number is and like right before the voting we learned that uh Indiana Jones in the dial of diarrhea had only lost $130 million no not much yeah sure that is a that is a number right because this them saying because they're estimating 134 million I think was the final number of the tally they came to after they ran the all the stuff from the UK taxes and the disclosures and all that stuff they said well based on what it made based on their take from the box office it looks like it lost $134 million the problem with that is that nowhere in there did they account for the money they spent on marketing at all and keep in mind this is the same time where similar big block projects like uh Thor 11 Thunder Guardians of the Galaxy even The Little Mermaid those marketing budgets were at150 million y so I would say it's 125 to 150 million I think you can add to that very reasonably still be conservative on the side of Disney and you're talking closer to between 250 and $300 million loss yeah as a as a reference point uh what's interesting is when you look at the budget like the the actual proposed budget the range is low end 295 which I mean come on it's a high end around 400 million maybe even more even if you give the low end of 295 you're still looking at around $264 million in losses for this movie you bump that up to 350 that goes up to $346 million in losses and if the film cost $400 million 420 million in losses for this movie so about my Amazon shoing now well based off what they reported based off what was reported from the UK I think the final budget got up to what 378 or something but you do have the UK tax credits which are about $60 million that they received back from it so ultimately you're talking about a movie that probably ended up somewhere in the 320 $325 million range is you know that is still a really high budget yep yeah I can't wait for the Marvels I I cannot wait for the Marvels to going to be a disaster what was Indiana Jones total box office again 300 million yeah worldwide yeah it's pretty bad that's horrific and yes the Marvels is going to be worse there was a whole bunch of those and then we can go back even to co with Disney and very few if any of their films actually made any real money at all like since endgame it's we're we're coming up on the five-year anniversary of endgame did you know that we're about three weeks away yeah it's like years five year blip it feels like way longer to be honest that feels like 10 years ago it does it also feels like another dimension well box office wise it is because that film made like 600 million or so in profits and then a Millie after that minus 250 for Black Widow minus 100 for shangi uh minus 168 for eternals and then Marvel's if the 220 million budget is is true which again we'll find out we'll find out more we'll find out more even then it's still 239 million in a loss and all the money that they spent on Disney plus all those shows that have failed yeah who does Iger think he's fooling with that article oh he fooling a lot of investors a lot of investors and shareholders who don't pay attention he's low information people essentially he is succeeding he is a very effective liar gas lighter there is a reason that you have to spend $40 million essentially on internal propaganda to try and persuade your own shareholders that you're the right person to stick to up I mean they almost spent I think by 2 to one the Rival um the Rival bid for people's affections like that's I don't I'm not that familiar with the way that these sort of corporate processes work but I'm guessing you don't spend $40 million if you think you're very secure in your position just because why would you yeah exactly point they could have poured that money in another box office flop I know theyy just right off as a l they spel they spent three times the budget of Godzilla minus one for Bob Iger to keep his job which was never in danger which was never in danger not even to keep him his job because he was going to be CEO no matter what yeah keep to keep one person off of the board who is actually interested in making money for people and not just advancing an agenda yep yep it was such a in a room full of 12 Yes Men or yes women or yes they thems or whatever right in a room full of that they couldn't have one single person there that would question anything that Happ Nelson pelts was a threat to Disney's democracy yes uh this was great we're going to show this again good morning I am Chloe Cole patient advocate for Do no harm a group that seeks accountability in the medical profession I am presenting proposal number seven titled report on gender transitioning compensation and benefits sponsored by national legal and policy Center Disney pays for gender transition interventions but not detransition in care therefore the company discriminates based on gender identity under EEOC regulations I speak from personal experience as someone who was deceived and physically harmed at a young age by gender ideology validated by the medical industry and pushed to the masses by corporations like Disney influenced by modern media and social networks I began a transition to mail at age 12 by age 16 after practitioners I trusted encouraged me to take puberty blockers and get a double myectomy I tried to come back to reality but it was too late my body has been irreversibly damaged and years later my chest is still in bandages my doctors have abandoned me you doctors look and shrug as a result I am suing those professionals who steered me into taking these destructive steps that have permanently scarred me but Disney in its arrogance has responded to our proposal by stating that I am only trying to generate attention for a limited agenda Mr Iger Disney under your watch is pushing the limited agenda of gender ideology Disney has become the Ursula that is stealing the voices of thousands of little aial across the world by telling us that we can be something that we can never he wouldn't understand that reference no he wouldn't he's also stealing their areolas sorry I was a little late on that one current or past employees whose bodies and lives have been irreversibly harmed will show up at your door looking for justice and restitution please vote for proposal number seven wow very but no agenda they're they're not and that's that's how they started out the recording uh and Chris and I like I reacted to it wrong at first because I thought it was just going to be some prepared some what are you you know what are you doing to help trans kids and it was the opposite it was mind-blowing and then the guy after it was pretty good too yeah uh calling him out and then it just turned into h a dog and pony show a dog and pony show and I think that's a really good uh way to to to approach it is like if you're going to pay for the transmission uh then you should pay for the fixing the transmission transmission transmission oil especially especially as so many more um as so many more studies are coming out there was one that came out just the other day that says the vast majority of people that have gender dysphoria or whatever you know at AG like 12 to 16 grow out of it and it's a phase there's more and more like scientific we're seeing about it and that's what we all knew from the beginning right that's what the vast majority of us understood because we've also grown up we saw girls that were like tomboys or whatever for a while like we we saw that happen and it's a phase and you have people like Khloe who irreversibly changed yeah due to what her parents let her do and what the doctors did to her and it's probably something a lot of people don't know that happened a couple years ago that Disney approved for it children of employees to pay for their transition surgery yet if they want to detransition Disney says no we're not paying for thatu yeah we're not a political company we don't have an agenda we don't we don't and again like if you're an adult do whatever the hell you want but I mean to me that's equal to like hey I'm just gonna buy my kids some cocaine because it's safer y they rehab I'm gonna let them I'm gonna let them buy cocaine it's their choice it's their choice yeah it's just weird because I knew who I've know who Khloe Cole was because I've seen her speak at various events what happened to her is horrific it's horrible and I do hope that there is a whole slew of these kinds of lawsuits because praying on these kids is it's sick and disgusting and like like Gary said look you're an adult you do what you want yeah whatever you want fine I just feel lucky you know the time I grew up I think the worst thing I may have gone through a couple bad fashion phases I saw you bro bro a couple a couple okay I've seen some of your old videos more a couple more than a couple a lot of bad fashioned choices were made when I was but nothing that was so permanent and scarring and kids just look I I had my kids go through a teen phase it's never easy and I know uh a lot of you have kids that are young right um the teen years suck they just s they suck for the kids too it just it's bad it's difficult and it ends it ends it's a phase it's over and it's fine but man this uh and having seen Khloe speak at many events she's just she's very articulate about it she speaks from experience the fact that she's not listened to and everything that she says you shut down uh sucks I don't know how she got on that call I love it that that even happened yeah same here remember when the one guy came on remember when the one guy came on it was like Gina corano this is the way like how did that get through I guess they just you know I don't know how but it's it's such a legitimate thing if you're going to pay for the transition you got to pay for the D transition and I think it's going to be a legal apocalypse if it even can be if these cases can get heard right I'm sure there's tons of paperwork that signed that you know you're responsible and you're accountable I don't know how they're going to get past pass that the interesting point I mean that's the EOC point that she's bringing up there which is I me there is a potential legal mindfield for these companies to be walking through because the EOC is massively empowered by the Civil Rights Act I think it's particularly title seven of article seven sorry of the Civil Rights Act um and it's sort of acred this immense amount of of power which has basically been unaccountable until this point and it's predicated on a fundamental contradiction which is that you can nominate various different rights groups and you can say that they have a single rights claim essentially so the the interesting thing about the D transitioner study that comes out it's not just that like like 70 something perent of kids will like cease being gender non-conformist or gender inou whatever you want to call it after they they end puberty but it's the majority of them are actually growing up to be gay once they are allowed not to transition into the opposite gender so what you have is a fundamental contradiction between the rights of trans people which is Disney's big thing at the moment and the rights of people who are actually not trans inate they would otherwise grow up to be gay and then of course you got the women question as well because once you start saying well trans women are literally women then of course you have to start unpacking what being a woman actually means as it relates to the Single Sex spaces that you put on for your female staff because if you don't afford these kinds of things then your company's already liable under EOC guidelines for potential lawsuits anyway so effectively the whole thing collapses under the weight of its own contradictions and we just haven't had yet any powerful movement with sufficient funds to actually bring this as a legal challenge against a company to set a test case but what you ultimately need to do is to get a big ground swell like this to start tearing out this fundamental misconception in the Civil Rights Act which is that you can simply start saying well you're gay so you have these rights your trans you have these rights your women you have these rights you're black you have these rights and we can somehow hold all of these things as though they you can hold them all at the same time which you can't do eventually there are contradictions that have to come out um the simple thing to do is to say to Disney don't fund transition surgeries don't fund detransition surgeries just get the hell out of this it's not your domain but the law has to support them in doing that yeah yeah class action lawsuit uh and it would take like what took down the cigarette companies was well a lot of States wanted some money so that that helped that happened but it would take maybe Elon will fund it he has uh he has some skin in the game I think one of his kids is transgender right skin if you're talk forget it that was bad definitely on the Forum that was a good one Chris under appreciate it the problem was you didn't really you didn't lean into it you reeled it back in as soon as you too dark too dark you didn't have time to set the hook or anything well speaking of transitioning yeah that was good Garrett good play Garrett so two hours later after Bob said No Agenda we're going to just buckle down and make good entertainment um basically one of the the last two chances of the MCU not being the MCU and turning things around goes full MCU so don't don't even wait all the scoopers are out there speculating about the X-Men casting it'll be the you will miss the fox X-Men you will miss the fox Fantastic 4 when this is all said and done you go well they did it better forck I'm excited to see that casting I don't know about f for stick I don't know um The Fantastic Four Julia Garner joins Marvel Studios movie as a Shala Bal version of the Silver Surfer so so many people like this might be a good argument for the Bots or they're just dumb didn't pay attention to the Shala Bal version of this uh of the Silver Surfer and they started throwing up the other female Silver Surfer or they started Juno Juno um and then you uh I had a joke there but I'm actually gonna save it for my video never mind um wait are you gonna call her shab ballis go uh so Shala Bal has been around it's silver surfer's girl it's the reason uh he let you know he saved Zen LA and took off with galatis and then eventually picked out Earth uh and uh basically made himself a slave to galatis uh when he betrayed Galactus he was imprisoned on Earth there was a barrier put around all that uh she was the impetus of that they're obviously going to flip-flop it but all of a sudden all these Wiki experts are going to come at us on Twitter right and which they have been for the last have well you know that this character appeared in three comic books between 1972 and 1978 oh my God you wiia word for word that's amazing that's amazing I'm just guess I don't know I felt like I was actually listening to them talk to me well I love one that tried to Own Me by putting up the Wikipedia the wrong Wikipedia of the Juno Silver Surfer it's like you you can always tell who is though cuz they do say you know uh they appeared in three episodes of the Fantastic 4 between 1954 and 1987 if you pay10 pounds Wikipedia can stay on air and the reason it's so clear is if you wanted to do a female heral for galatis no there's one readily available but that's not what they did so that wasn't even what they wanted they wanted to do this they wanted to make Silver Surfer this and I I like Julia Garner actually she's a good actress I like Ria seahorn she would make a shitty Silver Surfer yeah and so that's the thing I don't care if they said Sydney Sweeney is gonna be shaller I would have a problem with it in principle although everybody should watch Ozark that that show is great great show there nothing like nothing against her her agent stupid for putting her in this because it will not help her career at all it will hurt her career she should just go and do Ozark type of stuff that's what for one does that scream that doesn't even scream Shala ball to me at all like she doesn't look like her it's stupid and here's why it's stupid I yes there's a shalow ball Silver Surfer in earthx in the earthx timeline uh she appeared in a handful of episodes uh episodes Comics I think it's four or five I read that 20 years ago when it came out um so if you want to make a fantas ftic Four movie and you want you want to give it the best chance to succeed you make a Fantastic 4 movie with the Fantastic Four you don't put in Franklin Richards you don't put in Silver Surfer at all even the male one even norin rad you don't put in galatis uh you maybe introduce Dr Doom maybe none of this outside just give us a Fantastic Four movie based as close as you can to their origin like they did with Thor Captain America and Iron Man because that would be giving your film the best chance to succeed plus you you shouldn't hire a bunch of hack writers and directors which they've already done they're on their second or third director uh they're on their second set of writers maybe third at this point um and Pedro Pascal is Mr Fantastic is as bad as this plus they're going to cover her in CGI and so any ability that she has as an actress is going to be basically covered up because of all the CG garbage but it's okay to bring in Frankie Ray or Shala Bal as a Silver Surfer just make a good fantastic for movie first and then build on the lore instead it's going to be some multiversal and uh it's going to require homework and it's and it will absolutely fail it will Absol and they'll blame it on the Fantastic 4 they'll go it's unadaptable it's like because you didn't adapt it I person know much about the Fantastic 4 I just assumed the Silver Surfer was going to be a documentary about Robert Dao's girlfriend yeah I thought Silver Surfer is what Chris Gore asks for when he goes to the barber hell yeah as a as a person with silver hair I feel both seen and attacked at the same time no I this thing pisses me off because I don't think there'll ever be a good Fantastic Four movie in my lifetime and there have been what three incarnations now there was the the Box version there was the Roger Corman version which is still probably the most accurate accurate to the characters in the comic it is and then then that terrible one that they made fan forck yeah fan forck that was God awful it's so good it's so bad it's justad his face this pisses me off because they're jumping in the middle of the story and it's not like there aren't great female characters in The Fantastic 4 Universe Alicia Masters right like they're just jumping in the middle of the story yeah yeah jumping in the middle and and and they're just what they're they're justifying this character by saying well she was in the comics you know how many different versions five pages man on F you know we're talking about hundreds of issues compared to an appearance in five issues like a minor appearance in five issues and do what are they going to do bring back guard I know remember guard g a a r d it was a Multiverse Johnny Storm who dressed like a hockey player in outer space you remember that you remember Gary yes okay sounds better than this it's what the people want man a lot of dumb things in comics but you go for the stories that res that story that that three isue Arc of the very first appearance of the Silver Surfer um galatis is probably one of the three greatest issues of a comic it is the three it is absolutely the coming of Galactus is it like that is the goat uh and and and Stan Lee has said again his stories have changed but Silver Surfer is his favorite character and now you were never well we'll never see it in whatever it's just it's so ridiculous this this sort of forcing Square pegs and round holes that Marvel seems to be doing where they just can't just adapt the thing just adapt it's just it's insufferable is what it is it's just insufferable it's like we we kind of sort of cast a f Fantastic Four that kind of sort of looked like the Fantastic Four so now we need to offshoot that by uh taking one of the biggest characters and then just gender swapping them and it's just like our expectations were low but holy I know I know that's all I you you were like cautious with the Fantastic for casting like okay there's you know a couple of good names in there could work okay you know and then he just go by the way female silver server and it's gone yeah I was I was I was honestly shocked that no one in the Fantastic before was black I am too I am too so they're gonna make up for that somewhere get ready for black Dr Doom Ryan you talked about it so this is a rumor from from months ago the female Silver Surfer that turned out to be right and I completely agree with you Ryan I now fully believe that Sue storm will be leading the Fantastic for I like 100% 100% that's the same like time frame and it was attached to those rumors that it would be Su storm focused that she would be the leader of the team like all these things I find out same time we heard about that Silver Surfer rumor so I I mean we heard they're going to change a bunch of things up if they're going to female Silver Surfer they're clearly not so I don't know everyone look at Chris's toy he was I have a I have a Silver Surfer toy right here well obviously uh hey look at that funco got it wrong because that's a obviously a female Silver Surfer that's that's supposed to be female okay so they got it wrong according to Twitter uh yeah so no I I would have been the two things would have shocked me a dude fighting an alien in an alien movie and Reed Richards uh leading the Fantastic Four yeah I got that and you know what it came with a male Silver Surfer as so Hasbro got it wrong sexism and Nova and Nova but it came with a male silver surface so they got it wrong Accord to Twitter yeah they don't know comic books they don't know comic books at all have you heard the rumor of the casting for galatis no Javier bardam that wouldn't be bad actually think that's pretty good I I have no problem with Javier yeah but Galactus will have will he have an accent right I hunger I hunger I hunger essay that's the rum uh but he's got like the right uh voice for I yeah I don't have a problem with that I think he'd probably be pretty good should be really as long as they make him look like freaking Galactus like what a is holding up there right down to his purple ass um you dusting it you're D dude get a duster like this what are you brushing it yes yes like a French made yes I can't reach my mine's over there mine's flipping mine my mine right now is like doing this because you can fingers yeah you can the fingers mine's greatest toy Innovation [Laughter] ever oh my God it's so stupid so yes uh Su storm will lead when okay so this isn't in production yet so it'll go into production what later this year and then it'll come out in 2026 will anybody give a no the answer is no it's gonna be a completely different world uh if it's still around we if we survive the eclipse and the election and everything else uh but yeah like Disney doing that hours afterwards was that was the icing on the cake that was just hilarious because I'm all for accelerating this process of them never changed never changed and no i' we've all said that like they will be the they will not change all the other you know who are the happiest people in Hollywood all the all the CEOs of the competing Studios Warner Brothers par Mount Netflix Amazon we're all woo yeah go Disney you go girl you keep losing that money yep we'll take your marker chair Universal was just stoked oh my God we're being distracted with cute [Music] puppies no way to speak about little platoon hey ohus oh God we have to hear those noises too those girl noises hi hi Chrissy I just heard Asian noises I know right oh so cute oh my God hey uh I don't know if it's appropriate to bring this up Gary but dude after last week I everything's appropriate you really high on it there's a video that I put in the the private chat it says this goes live in 45 minutes might be fun to watch it's part three of that animation Vault series that features people we know I don't know if you want to show it it's like 90 seconds oh is it up is it ready to go it's the very first link in the private chat do it I guess it's three parts right it's three well there's like the main thing and then there's like little extras you don't have to watch the extras probably just the main thing so um yeah there it is watch so Allan what did you think of Clerks 3 you know gosh darn it um I enjoyed it and I'll tell you why Kevin Smith to me was an inspiration when he made the first clerks I think that movie was a real standout and what 93 94 greetings you over 870,000 Awakening wonders right yet we are going to go am I looking at crying Kevin Smith was to say why is Kevin SMI crying now everything he cries about every thing I'm still going Gary does that make us official doctors now or or they put rules on writers and creators and they can't create anymore you think Antman effected this why were there so many great films of the 90s I love this purely entertainment [Music] there's a lot of good films there yes yeah well I love ground it's depressing me now it's sad I [Applause] know it was like a a a a golden era I feel like movies today are like if it doesn't suck it's great it wasn't horrible that's that's as good as it gets with movies nowadays nice oh I love the P cute well done that's so cute that was adorable and sad it's sad it's just like wow we were so spoiled we had no idea yeah there's a c F I think there was more legitimate doctors in that animation than there has been the last five years oh spoil with movies we spoiled with music spoiled with everything have you seen the the sheer number of re-releases of retro movies at in theaters now they just announced this morning the mummy is coming back it just re-released Mad Max like two weeks ago it was great well they have to got nothing they've got absolutely nothing you I just did a video on it but like the first quarter for Hollywood was abysmal absolutely abysmal and they're like oh it's just a little bit off of last year but then at least in the article they point out that it's 45% off of 2016 2017 and 2018 and it was equal to the year 2000 without adjusting for inflation the first quarter for Hollywood they are screwed and uh you know know I guess uh you know Kong X Godzilla is doing pretty well and then after that we got Civil War which is going to like break any box office records but even no but even god Godzilla X Kong is still like opening weekend domestic is still nothing compared to the 2014 one yeah like so it's it recovered a bit from the last couple of of God of monsterverse films but compared to the first one the box office has has still not recovered and a lot of these movies are just um barely breaking even like even the ones that are like quote unquote doing well are still barely breaking even maybe making a little bit of profit um it's just yeah I I think what's what's interesting about the the Godzilla one is Godzilla xcong is getting quite a lot of in terms of it's just nuts awful all over the place right so that taken into consideration it's already made more money worldwide than the Marvels did wow in less than a week that's funny crazy than it did in its entire but people are weirdly precious about the monster firste things like movie syy a guy and who did a video saying like I really love Godzilla but I thought this film was really dumb and his comment section is just full of people saying kill yourself and it's quite funny it's like prompting me to go and do a video now because I want to annoy some absolute Spas noids but it's an appalling film but it's like you say it's doing well it's done better than the Marvel's has people really like the giant monsters fighting each other I guess but if if that's going to be one of the biggest box off his draws for the entire year that would be hilarious de pressing year for film that's really bad I actually looked up because doing I was considering doing a video on Ghostbusters the Frozen whatever that one which is just not good again like it's such a nothing and I just abandoned the script because it was just so boring but I went and looked up like what other films just released in 1984 when the first Ghostbusters comes out in one year you get what is it Ghostbusters Beverly Hills cup Temple of Doom Gremlins karate kid police academy Foot Loose even the search for Spar like I feel like we'd be really lucky and Counting Stars if we got even one of those caliber films released now well it would if you if we did it would be an absolute standout movie because those are standout movies that I I would watch all of those movies in a heartbeat today because they're absolutely excellent and and Police Academy of course just uh celebrating its 40th anniversary Jesus getting old hell which is which is which is great and I I remember watching please academ's good Beverly Hills CAU one of my favorite movies of all time uh you know the Temple of Doom of course uh Ghostbusters it's just like these are insane insanely good films now we're talking about well you know the two CGI monsters hitting each other with sticks uh might make the most money this year because all else is coming out and the Ghostbusters movie that came out 40 years after the really great satirical biting cleverly written you know brilliantly acted it's just some generic slush now about lesbian ghost and teenagers you know it's just like where we are what are we doing and all we hear we because we do this obviously all the time in the chat all we hear is they're remaking this they're doing that there's a sequel to this there's a reboot of that and it's they're remaking Naked Gun yeah oh yeah with Liam n that could be good that could be good no right right okay right you right I'll tell you why it's never gonna be good Chris okay is Li n a good actor well he's he's okay he's an actor that does a role right he has a he can do dead pan all this kind of stuff right he has a specific set of skills he has well done so you you put all that together right and then you just go Leslie neelsen off can't even hold a torch you cannot hold a torch to the absolute timing and comic Genius of Leslie neelen never gonna happen this is a guy that Leslie Nelson was a guy that grew up with with serious film serious serious serious serious and then in his latter part of his career converted into comedy and he took all of that great knowledge that great acting skill and akiman and he turned it into absolute gold that's why when you have people like Jean Luke Picard on the bridge of the Enterprise what do they do they get Shakespearean British actors because they know the craft and and it doesn't matter that they're not like oh we just need some pretty boy no they need somebody that can have the gravitas of a captain somebody that's got the the the absolute knowledge of of of treading the boards that that can speak Shakespeare that has such range and control and could go up and down number one they that's why they bring them in now we're just we're just getting schlock after schlock after schlock after remake after buy Gay Ghost after CGI stick whacking after American Negroes going white people are just turn your brain off and enjoy it what were you say Chris of all I can't stand all like reboots recel pre whatever I mean I just saw the first Omen you know which which is actually not it's a direct SE prequel to The Omen from 1976 because yeah there's we have no prequels coming out this year or reels or sequel oh no most movies most movies those things but I just have one response because I I actually love Liam niss as an actor um he just he's become tired in that you know taken role right so what do you do you flip it but maybe you create something new I don't know something new something you make the Blazing Saddles of woke like you make fun of voke Hollywood like Blazing Saddles starring Liam n it would be great I have a one-word response uh to your diet tribe as which is AIDS soid if you remember the series with Ricky everybody rii ja wrote that extra scene him and Steve Merchant wrote that extra scene and the reason why that extra scene with Liam n is so funny is actually Ricky jaas and Steve Merchant's response to what Liam niss is actually saying you need the straight guy for the comic Rel exactly and and they were the like you need writers that's the thing you don't have the writers anymore you think they are going to write of that quality you think they're going to have the edginess of the jokes that came with the zuka Abraham zuka stuff but I think he's capable of it who knows whatever I I I always I love the Naked Gun series including police squad the TV show it's gonna be written by Hannah Gatsby or some dog it's directed by one of the Lonely Island guys which I like I like those guys they're they're pretty funny but they're not Naked Gun funny like that's a very specific thing over the the course of the week when I was dead sick I watched Hot Shots Hot Shots part do uh top secret we watched all those with my kids and they love those movies they love the Naked Gun movies uh but they're a very specific spoof movie the the the style of like the visual jokes and and physical comedy that we just don't do anymore and you need writers that are at that level that can do it you know the stupid fart jokes sometimes are way more sophisticated than any ComEd that can write movies these days but they're fart jokes that are played straight every single character in Airplane Naked Gun police squad top secret etal every one of them plays it straight now it would be like where the humor comes from that's where theor it's LOL so Random that's what like passes my humor right now the joke was fantastic Naked Gun yeah nobody do we get yeah we don't get absurdus humor and and and quite frankly the people who still could do it wouldn't want to work in Hollywood because they'd be you know noted to death or they wouldn't be allowed to do what you know even Broken Lizard like came out and did a Hulu movie was awful it was uh quazi quasi mod yeah it was terrible and they they were kind of like one of the last to do absurdest humor I mean Beerfest is great hilarious beerest is so movies are fantastic yeah I will say though AA from The Lonely Island guy they did he directed mcgruber that movie is absurd and weird and funny uh so I don't that's my only hope is like he's I have fi that he's pretty funny but the the studio around it I don't trust them like I don't trust anybody would Tropic Thunder get made today no no not even close would would Blazing Saddles get made today oh hell no exactly what did we get when we even when we got safer humor safer comedies like American Pie it became a little bit safer and it was a little bit more into like the sex comedy but not a por Keys you know you might see a little bit of tit but but the humor kind of came from that and it was safer and it was funny and what did that develop into it developed into a bunch of dog people trying to saiz that and and they don't understand the humor and they don't understand why things like the Naked Gun were funny and the reason why stuff like the Naked Gun was funny and and airplane was funny couple scary movies we're we're yeah yeah because the people when you love the genre that you're spoofing it shines like you know that when you're doing police squad they loved those old old style detective shows you know they you know that they absolutely adored them as as as a kid and growing up and then they said right how can we take these these wonderful shows sort of play them as if they were in that year that sort of era but obviously you move it over into current you know the current time and and you put your absurdest humor nobody could do Mel Brooks aside possibly but nobody can do ABD dis human like Zucker Abraham Zucker nobody could they were just the absolute masters of it many attempted to copy them everyone failed miserably and that's what going to get with this we're going to get some sanitized current day can't be offensive to this group can't be offensive to that group can't be sexist can't be misogynist can't be this can't be that and it just gets struck down with everything so you're gonna get the blandest flattest flatter than a kaku's Zipp atit comedy that ever has been put on a screen and it's going to be shite and on top of that there's di requirements for uh cast and writing and this was a a film I guess that Jimmy Fox wrote in back in 2016 what yeah I think this is inspired by Robert dowy Junior's character in uh Tropic Thunder if I'm not mistaken they that they ABS absolutely should release this look I don't know if they're gonna nut up and release it like come on Jamie Fox what are you afraid of this is something they already shot yeah and they just sh it would make more money a little bit than most of the comedies today it's got an All-Star C too why did they shove it uh political correctness afraid because it's a white man playing a brown man now in current day which nobody would have cared that Jeremy Piven it yeah like nobody me aside from a few walk woke actors in Hollywood nobody would have cared no not at all has Jeremy Piven Robert Johnny Jr bonio Del Toro Gerard Butler and Eva Longoria like this is the absolute best time to do that because I think we're at a critical mass of people not giving a about woke and and people going oh that's woke don't do that don't do that just release it and then when the Articles come out ignore them and people will go see it I guess the one issue could could be that theaters would have to be willing to release them and I mean there might be some here or there but no no again but like I think that before money they do but I think that you've also seen them sometimes like they make it very difficult to release like Independent films for instance in theaters so I think that that would be the only thing that could keep it from getting that kind of release I think well yeah and that's that's going to have to CH well that will change uh their destruction the major Studios Destro like the Legacy studios are dying uh Paramount uh just got put to junk status their stock put the junk status and after watching Star Trek Discovery uh season five episode one I understand why it was terrible uh but like I I can't believe how it got worse it actually got worse I was laughing though like this was a good time it was a good time watching at the at all the just freaking bad science and stupidity in that show but um at Warner Brothers is like the one Studio that's kind of done okay since all of their superhero flops in the box office they're the ones who have done okay because they're trying to turn things around faster disne he's not uh but then you know we get this and and like why I like Drew I likew God Drew Goddard is good Drew goddard's done a very good things he gave us probably the great the well the greatest liveaction Marvel thing ever Daredevil the Daredevil show yes worked on so tragic dude it was so bad I understand that oh I didn't get through it wish did I couldn't get 15 minutes into it I I gave up it was the strawberry bit I got to the strawberry bit and I was like this movie and the entire thing I honestly don't even remember what the movie I don't know what it was I just remember they the movie was we're watching The Matrix that's what the movie was the movie was the actors in this movie are watching The Matrix from 1999 like but I could just go do that exactly so I did I wish Drew Gard was working oh is this a FY strawberry I'll off I wish he was working on Daredevil and not this okay that's I wish Drew Goddard would like make something uh new original was original be great at that did he help write cabin of the woods yes yes okay that was awesome damn good movie he also uh you know wrote a lot of episodes of season five uh Angel season five uh yeah he's done a lot of good stuff so uh maybe this would I mean this is certainly a better choice than the wowski like exec produc brothers or sisters uh the wowski the ones with no Talent the only correct answer which is Brothers all the talent left them when they went to become women I forgot what their Old Government names were is it Larry or something like that yeah um it was it was Brothers it was his idea it was his idea but like there's only one Matrix movie okay just stop just stop uh I get wanting to go back to the well to something that's proven except it this isn't proven it's one good movie from 24 years ago they cribed a huge amount of we going back to that point about loving your Source material I mean they CED a huge amount from things like Ghost in the Shell in terms of the hype Concepts science fiction near future which is still brilliantly relevant to today like in the setting of The Matrix you could make an incredibly good modern movie about modern times which is kind of what the Matrix really is I just don't trust that they have any ability to do that and I also don't see how you can do it while continuing with the story that we got from The Matrix 2 3 and I guess we're going to have to call it the Matrix 4 as well because it does technically exist I don't have any trust that they have any ability to to get back to what the Matrix was supposed to be about or even to continue the story I think the only way to do it is if you do separate it as much as possible from everything else that's happened now's really the time to do a lot of great cyberp Punk films too because we're basically marching towards that future yep yeah Elon Musk needs a copy of the ghost Ghost in the Shell immediately but it wasn't wasn't the Matrix um after birth uh wasn't that just a wal chowki singular yeah yeah they couldn't even get both of them on which is usually a sign that your thing shouldn't get off the ground if like the two original creators only one of them can be bribed to go back have I ever watched a movie that felt like a self- sabotage on like on purpose two brothers who were so like in line with each other they transitioned couldn't agree on the Matrix sequel yeah oh man oh wow that love to be a fly in the wall for that argument uh oh um yeah Drew go do something better please of Matrix 4 they are actually talking to a network executive who demands that they do this new better bigger more expensive version like opens with yeah this is just a corporate sellout so please invest heavily in the story we're about to tell you yep and what was great uh Chris might remember this in The Matrix box set uh that came out 10 15 years ago they had they had people commenting on it that were critical of the sequels and they really broke down like where they up and where they up was by giving them more money they just said yeah I know one of the guys who was on that commentary Jeffrey Wells and he talked about like how weird it was to be invited because he hated it I've never heard of that as a a DVD extra which I thought is pretty cool actually it was really good it was it really shows you like what changes in Hollywood it's a great education of before they were basically all in one Warehouse they shared trailers at some point they shared food then all of a sudden catering separate trailers agents people weren't talking to each other and it shows it it shows you what's happening now it's uh if you have it go and you haven't watched it go watch those they're pretty good pretty good actually Gary I don't know if you looked at that story I dm'd you um after the nuner um a story about the writers the screenwriters they're to make money because many of them haven't worked since the strike over the summer a lot of them are doing door Dash so I was thinking of having a screenwriter deliver some lunch to me right now oh yeah yeah we have that article the one I'm scared uh right right yeah yeah yeah that one is like why it's a brutal time to be a TV writer it's a brutal time to be a TV viewer [Laughter] okay uh by the way Ryan uh little bit of a family emergency so he had to take off um the end of peak TV has ushered in I probably should read the headline I'm scared why it's a brutal time to be a TV writer uh the end of pakt has ushered in an era of contraction shrinkage uh with fewer buyers farewell the CW by the way just want to point out the CW Network never made a single dollar ever in its entirety go look it up it never made any money even the entire arse like the beginning none of never was n that's crazy it it is crazy and it lasted that long had a lot of investor money wow uh and fierce comp comptition for the few shows that are Staffing people are in total survival mode now the Aon apparent to to the CW is Star Trek Discovery it is it is a it is worse it is actually worse um Emily sheever's career was just getting started the 36-year-old began her TV writing career in TW in the 2020 as a writer's production assistant and script cordinator uh for Legends of tomorrow I wonder how many Comics she read probably n i i i my I H that pilot episode for Legends tomorrow drove me insane I uh I like the bit where um uh atam is uh is talking to uh to Arrow about how uh everyone forgot when he vanished when he got so small and no and everyone thought he was dead how uh how the world forgot about him and he did this by the way stood next to the sign where they named the city after him hell these writers need jobs dude oh if there's extra time we do need to do a CW retrospective because there's so much bad in that oh my god um so Legends of tomorrow before getting hired as a staff writer on ABC's The Company You Keep after the drama uh that marked Milo somebody's name followup to This Is Us oh that one was cancelled following a single season shortly after the uh wga strike began last May uh chever had no job to return to when it ended in September wow how's that strike working out for everybody just want to ask yall out there the ones who were left uh maybe you're delivering food right now he it's honest work if you can get it uh like scor of others writers of all levels and backgrounds she doesn't know when or where her next paycheck will come from well I think this is the part where you just go find another job yeah like yeah welcome to America welcome to the industry like this is how the industry has always been you literally go job to job to job usually transporting food from people that cook the food to people that eat the food welcome to the current state of the economy as well yeah yeah maybe after I crashed and burned and sold my comic shop I should have just held out and waited for another comic shop or another job in the comic industry yeah or I look for other work somewhere else just throwing it out there across the TV landscape buying uh has cooled dramatically oh wow crazy I wonder uh some people were warning that was going to happen uh can't remember who they were though uh and many writers now find themselves in situations like chever uh by the way if you aren't being paid as a writer you're no longer a writer you're just unemployed just want to point that out with opportunity shrinking as the industry shifts from Peak TV to an Era of cont contraction and austerity a wave of downsizing that kicked off last year when the priorities of Wall Street Chang from a focus on subscriber growth true profitability how dare they out like it's not stopping borrowing tons of money that you can't ever possibly afford to make back is not austerity that's just being sensible with money they wer for a long time thank you we're over $34 trillion in debt right now they're trying to act like they're government workers you know it's like what the hell like you're entitled to this job that's basically a Leisure activity right you provide entertainment as a Leisure activity to the people who actually work uh just want to point that out we say like look like they're a government worker there was actually an article I think it was in Jacobin or some unserious very leftwing place like that saying that the answer to the problem of like journalists being made unemployed is that the government should definitely fund journalism journalism schools free and give them like benefits to top up their wages and like the government can control the media and that will solve the problem do like a great plan and I want a pony you know like and a rainbow and a magic rainbow oh so uh yeah that that evil evil Wall Street those evil evil business owners want to focus on actually making money now bastards as streamers like Netflix and Max uh right siiz their slates the broadcast pipelines for peacock a stupid name for a streaming service Hulu and which is now Disney plus uh and Paramount plus which is about to go down are drying up a decade ago broadcasters collectively ordered as many as 98 Pilots today that number can be counted on one hand by the way uh right sizing is code for downsizing Oh I thought it was uh turning people to the outright my bad yeah that too um radicalizing uh there are so few shows that are still being greenlit so few uh new pilots that are being ordered and fewer spots in riters rooms says Shannon Corbell or corbel a finalist for the D Disney TV writing Fellowship that was put on hold during the wga strike the Staffing positions available are going to be more seasoned Riders oh and uh it's so predictable everyone knew this would happen if you're going on strike demanding more money who the do you think they're going to hire are they going to take a risk on an unproven person that they didn't have to pay more money or are they going to go with the people they know you can't vote yourself more money and then complain that you're actually economically not competitive anymore this is basic stuff but of course they're a writer for Disney so they don't know that right and and this isn't like some kid who just got a job out of college and it's always like this this is a 36y old woman who was talking earlier okay so and the pilots that are being purchased are being bought from proven Riders holy what this is this is they're a bunch of Nazis obviously uh unprecedented unprecedented Brandon K Hines spent more than a decade working in support of Staff jobs as a script coordinator on Comedy centrals Aquafina is Nora from Queens I can't imagine why they're not getting work and Amazon's Harlem uh he was staffed as a writer for the first time on Showtime fellow Travelers Hines was homeless and had uh had been bouncing between camping couch surfing with friends and the occasional Airbnb before he turned to driving for door before he turned to driving to Door Dash on what can I can I quote can I quote Spiderman 3 here and how's this my problem I would turn the door Dash before I was camping I would just I'm just saying if you got a car uh for door Dash and GrubHub after his 16-week riding job on the showtime limited series concluding before the strikes began a potential riding job on a weeds Revival oh God uh he lined up before the strike evaporated during the work stoppage a Showtime as Showtime drop plans for the series sources say while Showtime is part of Paramount which is in big trouble right now so there you go uh you need multiple gigs a year to make a livable wage there we go livable wage um you know how you can make a livable wage by getting a jobob job DP this has always been part of the industry it's always been a part of the industry what are you thinking going into the industry and thinking you're just going to make millions of dollars being a writer on a TV show on CW what do you think go get a job and do the writing at the same time it's a starving artist the for people that talk about entitlement holy look in the Mira Millennials like 100% that's this the problem kind of across all Industries at this moment like everywhere retail fast food the movie industry it's this entitlement and don't unwillingness to work there's no work ethic no no you camp in a bush before you get a job exactly you're a writer so you write your own ideas you're writing on the side maybe a little novel here and there if you're a talented writer no it's I'm just going to wait for the gigs to come to me that's that attit little little only fans little only fans whatever you need to do God I don't know or if you're Kaku senior editor a little bit of prostitution at least she has something go back to sex work yeah she she has something to back into so I always it's normally a client's penis but yes thanks for explaining the [Music] joke I just thought you know there's probably some people in the audience no you're probably right uh you need multiple gigs a year he says it's the craziest time to be a a working writer well you're not a working writer right now in Hollywood uh you can work on a semi hit show but still can't afford uh to make a living wage it's pretty intense uh it's not just the lack of jobs which is where they'll be living in a couple of weeks right that's good uh it's not just the lack of Pilots that is affecting the challenging landscape that the writers have found in the industry since the strike included in September the overall volume of us produced liveaction scripted TV series tumbled scroll up thank you wait I got to move this there we go there we go uh did the live action TV for uh 14% from last year from a high of oh wait the overall volume of us produced live action scripted TV series tumbled 14% last year from a high of 600 in 2022 to 516 in 2023 FX CEO uh John langri uh landri landra landra uh who coined the term Peak TV told Hollywood Reporter in February that the downturn started well before the wga strike last May yes it did no no that's why a lot of people were going even some within the wga going maybe we really shouldn't strike right now maybe now is not a good time de racist should have listened to their own advice uh there was a certain amount of inefficiency that's a that's a very certain amount generous way of putting it just a touch just little little bit uh that was just about a whole bunch of companies entering a space where they had no prior experience and you can't blame anybody but inexperience for that yeah you can yeah you can land kind of yeah it's like oh wellp sorry we blew billions of dollars whoopsy doopsy landra says for the billions of dollars rival streamers spent on programming in a bid to compete with Netflix uh I I don't know I can't remember the number that Disney has into Disney plus uh it's billions it's billions of dollars and that's before it even started it's not just about inexperience I mean inexperience does play a big role you know if you look at the amount of money that is being spent by Disney on its Marvel TV shows or the Mandalorian which has the budget of a feature film for example it's obviously unsustainable but the amount of money that you're spending on VFX doesn't impact the quality of the writing generally if you look at the budget that Star Trek the Next Generation is written on and produced on versus the budget for a show like I don't know shehulk to take an example you can still do your job as a writer incredibly well and make a popular TV show almost irrespective of the amount of money that being spent on it like you can still do your job even if the people above you are not doing theirs very well look at redw yeah red dwarf um any any like thing done on a Sho string budget which is renowned today because everyone remembers the quality of the writing that's there it's it's easy for writers to say oh it's only because they're spending too much money and they're not making it back that we're unemployed it's not just that it's that you're just absolutely incapable of turning around a script that's half decent and so the show isn't popular and so you're not getting hired and you're not being bought back so it's sort of your fault as well agreed uh since then television reporters have been transformed into show Grim Reapers announcing waves of cancellations and un renewals un renewals what the is that what the I'm un alive now it's like we're speaking in YouTube speak now uh series that were cancelled after they had originally been renewed by networks including uncoupled Pitch Perfect uh Bumper in Berlin that's the that's the entire Bumper in Berlin perfect Bumper in Berlin that's the title of the whole thing and A League of Their Own which they spent Millions on and lost Millions on lesbians throw balls throw balls that they don't have uh the entertainment Community Fund which provides assistance in the form of funds workshops and training for those who work in the film and TV Industries have already distributed more than 3 .25 million to 1600 folks from January 1st to March 22nd that's on top of the 18.8 million the ECF handed out in 2023 during the Dual work stoppages to 8,500 people including more than 600 writers it's a lot of money uh Keith mcnut bet you did executive director of the EFC says the group has received requests for financial assistant from writers for all of all experience levels and cultural backgrounds since the strikes concluded uh how long ago the strikes conclude again uh are we at six months yet we're close to six months six months was it November I think so yeah yeah I would say uh get a job get get a job that's a lot of time to get a job uh Hey fast food workers make $20 an hour now in California yeah that's right if you can get not all fast food workers just they're not they don't have the experience and they don't certainly have the uh credentials yeah to do this hey guys start a YouTube channel yeah there you go learn a code H yeah that's not gonna save you these days trade school definitely trade school will probably save well tell you what you get a job at in and out you get 20 you'd work your ass off you see those kids in there they work their ass off it's absolutely hilarious to me that people in an industry like Hollywood right something we think oh those guys must be making millions right and we're internet YouTubers and we make way more money than a writer on an actual Network TV show sad well well it's all I would correct that somewhat it's a lot of these people are stupid they only work six months of the year and they make an ungodly sum of money for a short period of time and then they they reach a lifestyle that they become comfortable with right and they don't realize like that can be shortlived that it's it's seasonal work it's seasonal work and wanting to live in LA and New York mostly La where all the jobs are and they have to pay $1,000 a month just for their apartment, that's a room 5000 like a Janitor's Closet there are no, Apartments I lived in marvista for about 9 months uh about maybe 10 years ago and it was $900 $60 a month and that was for an efficiency so everything was that was like 10 years ago Dude that efficiency probably goes for two or three grand now yep the the only way to survive is to live below your means is to seriously and the problem is a lot of these people they got comfortable they got comfortable they overextended they probably bought homes they can't afford did you see that that Tik Tock video that someone did a compilation of all the people that are out of work and how they're suffering it it's all industry people they're below the line people right like script supervisors all these other jobs that people don't think about they're hurting you can talk about these screenwriters and people in the writer room all you want but all these other people are out of work too I'll um I'll find that if you want to watch find it show the video I'll find I'll find it find it yeah uh I lived in Burbank in 2010 2011 just rented a room uh while I was working down there and it was a thousand bucks a month but it was a room with and there was eight other dudes living in that and two of them wrote for uh The Big Bang Theory they were living in that house it's right down the street from Disney uh we're still doing three times the amount oh by the way they're passing out $200,000 to $300,000 a week uh to to writers and stuff uh by the way the wga which monitors employment levels among these members declined to comment what they had a lot to say before the strike not a lot to say after real quiet all of a sudden mhm where's Franny well they got what they wanted that's why exactly uh they uh to comment for this story other than to say the union required some time to clear Post strike picture to occur uh you've had time the post-rp picture is pretty Grim it's erratic the market has settled down into something different with only five or six buyers left and the only one is really buying is Netflix and they have decided to take a big chunk of their money and buy from from the East which was smart uh though the wgaa won some room siiz uh Protections in the new minimum basic agreement MBA big Riders rooms with a dozen or more scribes once commonplace are increasingly hard to find there are thousands of people going up for one job and only six slots per show on a good day says one veteran uh lit agent who app OED who appointed Watson adding three writers after it was picked up for 13 episodes the CBS drama started developing more than a year ago with a mini room that featured only six scribes it doesn't feel like anyone gets a big writers room unless you're on NCIS the fact that that requires a big writers room is incredible dude just imagine I me so what does all this mean for the Dei hires well I was I was gonna say I mean I'm just gonna I'm just going to talk you know complete nonsense here because this would never happen of course but just imagine an industry that was really competitive because there's such few slots to go around with such so many people wanting to get in and of course if you're hiring on Talent then you know it's a it's pot luck whether or not you can or not if you don't think you have so uh if you don't think you have and what else could you do potentially to get in oh maybe create a grift I don't know maybe call it something like Dei or ESG or uh sweep B ink or Bridge whatever call black girl gamers or melan Gamers or I'm a black person hire me yours I'll F I'll get you cancelled on Al lived yes I will blackmail your company into hiring me you know I don't know you know all kind of company names like this something like that something like that would never happen though that would never happen that's crazy talk hey hey what they're blaming is the lack of the CW oh oh my God the capability of like choosing the wrong thing to focus on is amazing it's it's uh it never ceases to surprise it is a gift it is a gift it is it's a superpower as a buyer for multi-season shows like the legends of tomorrow and Superman and Lois which James gun cancelled by the way it probably could have kept going uh now in its abbreviated abbreviated fourth and final season is also contributing oh by the way I just got to back up a little bit James gun is Camp cancelling Superman and Lois to to avoid brand [Laughter] confusion okay although we're getting decision I am liking the the really sort of good backhanded insult of the CW though you got these riters saying we're and Noble wants our crap writing because the CW won't buy it anymore like yes oh so so the CW was known was it for just picking up any old piece of crap that you Happ to turn out and now you're in a competitive Marketplace you actually can't get a job that's um yeah doesn't reflect well on does it you know now well now that you got also take into consideration of course that CW gave itself away for free if you took on its debts yeah maybe a bag of crisps there you go but you we are selling ourselves for 0 if you pick up our 50 million debt yep oh okay I'm going to pass on that uh so this is also contributing to the downturn in available gigs for writers since nextstar took control of the CW for Warner Brothers and CBS studios in October 2022 the network has canceled more than a dozen scripted originals and is no longer buying scripts from the traditional Studio system that way uh it did the way it did under C uh C.W CEO mark pedit your name that's unfortunate I don't know I think it's very I didn't think it get it couldn't get worse than Epstein but I guess it can uh that has left hundreds of writers out of work as the CW previously serve served as the way for new scribes to learn the ropes oh hell so the CW was like the minor leagues uh okay well it it came it's more like the special needs but sure there you go ah as writers anxiously await for a new wave of script deals to begin well you're going to be waiting a long time many are turning to other jobs or considering leaving the industry altogether I was interviewing for teaching jobs wow oh don't teach please don't please don't God don't uh I interviewed at a university and was close to leaving Hollywood Forever says an experienced showrunner nobody ever starts their career thinking that it will last for for ever I never thought I'd be a writer for as long as I have but I didn't expect to run into a brick wall but you did uh that you built by the way yes that you built uh I thought it it would be a slow taper tapering but this feels like a cataclysm because it is god wow it's called karma welcome to real life you almost feel bad no not really almost no uh it was I would have sympathy for them if they actually realized that because their job status is temporary that they actually had a reserve and were living off of and that eventually ran out and they weren't able to find anything I'd have more sympathy but I don't you got to plan for the future it was a very emotional thing I did when I applied for the teaching job I don't know if I'm ever going to forgive Hollywood for this in a fight oh my God never gonna forgive you yeah I think I'm sure they give a mate yeah right they don't Holly you're breaking my heart to go from the pandemic to the strikes to this by the way the pandemic you and Hollywood were allowed to work through so off with that it feels like one war of attrition after another and know it's a bunch of self-inflicted wound you I can't stop stabbing myself why would you do this stop hitting yourself stop hitting yourself yeah this hurts then stop I can't I can't keep reading this uh it's um painful we told you it was going to happen we all told you everybody in this chat told you it was going to happen anybody with a working brain could have seen this coming uh and dude wait till two years down the road two years down the road it's going to be even worse and you know what uh people are doing they're still being entertained every day uh Hollywood's competing against itself I talked about uh Jud abdow was complaining that they aren't ordering new shows because they're just buying old ones that people like that were good and it's hard to compete against that shocker shocking dude I'll say it again when suits goes on Netflix and it's the most watched thing over the summer suits suits it's like basic TV it shows that people still want to watch TV and and and Hollywood can't even do better than suits okay it's hilarious it it's a mediocre show too it's not like some brilliant show or anything it's it's not bad it's enjoyable but it's two people in suits talk yeah TV that's the funny part about all this and enough people were like okay I'll turn this on and just mindlessly watch it okay it's the kind of thing you watch while you're looking at your phone I love it Ryan Ryan's gone Ryan was complaining about Shogun because he's like I can't look at my phone I have to pay attention and watch it cuz you got a read it that's what you're supposed to do T are you welcome to Tik Tok welcome to social media welcome to we can only get your attention for 30 seconds before you click us something welcome to we need a trailer before a trailer welcome to this welcome to this kind of world welcome to a world where when the corporations think you're dumb and and can't focus any on anything for more than a few seconds that's the type of content you start to get from them I like how you said dumb and yeah I think dumb is just stupid is Hollywood you know well that thing that insult to retards come on man yeah that thing Dakota Johnson said a couple weeks ago where she was talking about how the people that are in these positions assume the audience is stupid the audience is not stupid they're not stupid at all and I I like you as I cannot stand that trailer before the trailer The Fall Guy trailer Starts Now who cares shut up play it it's it's moronic I put that Tik Tock Link in there I don't know if you can show it Gary I mean I'm sure you can show it like you have to have a I I hate Tik Tok but yeah I don't have a Tik Tok so this is just get a get a job the entertainment industry is serious [Music] cirt I'm a former executive producer so many so you destroyed the industry yeah is that as loud as I mean we we can read it but is that as loud as you can get it there's a lot of Industries are broken too which it's like HW go yourself man seriously collaborators are working less to the point where collaborat is people trying to make a living and hard to do that I'm Jen I am former editor I finally May hey John go get a get a job I I I genuinely feel sorry for because they're not these aren't the people that make decisions these aren't Executives they're not these are the worker bees right that actually make the stuff um so I do feel for them I'll say one thing that's interesting the Montage mostly white people so well yeah and and and the wga and the film Actors Guild is all responsible for this yeah yeah uh the producers saw coming they they they they all saw this coming the and the wga and the film Actor Guild walked right in the producers trap now that's a disaster that the producers made they overspent the money they were spending it like a Coke fiend in Vegas and they needed a way out and the wga and the film Actors Guild provided them with that way out director the last show I worked on was generation gap we're just trying to keep our kids fed at this point keep our house keep our cars get food on the table my name is wifredo Hernandez I used to be a television editor and I'm being forced to move out of my house because I'm not going to be able to afford the mortgage anymore so let's try and make this very aware that I I am having a hard problem sympathizing with anyone here yeah there is a lot of there's a lot of crying yeah when you don't have a job get out there apply get get something you know just because you used to do I used just let's say you know I did sales marketing let's just say I couldn't get a job there what do I do take to social media in our generation or even Gen X has had the same job their whole adult life like a boomer expectations think about that that last woman said lose my house and cars plural cars yes cars I want I want people to have houses I want people to have multiple cars I want people to feed their family that's great I want you to work in Hollywood I want you to have fun and and make creative things that'd be cool but make good stuff what's the point of is is Hollywood broken because you guys have not been making good things and not been and on top of that been trashing the audience and treating them like retards is that it well and he's an editor right this is a former editor go do go go offer to if you're good dude yeah go go find some content creators to go edit for they need they a good reliable editor hard to find some change my name is Steve melon I'm a reality television editor shows like The Amazing Race and undercover B there just isn't any work out there yes there is there's so much oh there's a lot well they only know one kind one Arena right which is Hollywood they're not aware that there's this like I mean YouTube the ecosystem of YouTube there should be a lot of work for some of these people at least the editors for sure I like the chat said learn the weld that's something you can learn in a reasonable amount of time and make a lot of money doing by the way speaking of welding have you did you seen that video of Sydney Sweeney working on the cars that pretty awesome God working on her car that's isn't that her truck that she's working on yeah good for her it's actually her backstory is that when when she tried to convince her parents to let her get into acting she I think she drew them up like a 5-year business plan to prove that she was going to be able to make it and like she had a fullback plan if it didn't work out she's moved into producing because she wants you know to increase the number of opportunities that she can create for herself like this is somebody who's got into a a very very capricious industry with a plan and several fullback positions and lo and behold if you put the time in the work in the effort in also if you have massive tits it does help then you're succeed right but but you don't go into this industry I'm going to take out a mortgage and my security is going to come in from my my writing job on this sitcom that's a bad financial decision it out there financial literacy a lot of these people don't have a backup plan like Sydney does so it it really shows the difference between at least her and these people in the video she can change my oil if people paid attention to what was going on with the economy and with Co you could predict was coming don't the these are I'm guessing most of these people will think the econom is great cuz my guy's in office the economy's Fantastic because MSNBC told me how's the rock feeling about that right now yep we'll show that in a second oh yeah I got that one oh it's so good but even like back in 2020 I knew the economy was going to get bad and there was a potential for me to lose my job which is the reason why I took precautions exactly anybody who's a got a functioning brain is they're printing a bunch of money that's really really bad that's really really bad and uh it's bad wow shocking but instead they took their job for granted and the audience for granted it's kind of like the equivalent of putting all of your money into some meme stock and then it crashes and then you blame capitalism for that's not the system's fault that's you being a yes but they don't want to take nobody wants to take respons responsibility yeah exactly except in a video where I take responsib that's what this is it's just not black and white yeah except when it's fake production supervisor she's working in instacart runs trying to just for sanity and bring some extra money in half of my rooll they're looking for work they're scared they could use some help and support my name is Aaron I'm an SVP of development and unscripted I've been in why is feet stinks this she's making her money last year I was brought in to revamp a signature element of one of Netflix's most popular shows I haven't worked since and now my family and I are living on credit hi my name is an right right just stop for a second please we we are not dealing with people who are like 22 here I think everybody seems to be in their 30s 40s potentially even 50s I.E they know what the a job is they know what job security is and they certainly know what their industry is to seeing them complain here is absolutely ridiculous zilch sympathy recently worked as a TV post producer my insurance company is specifically targeting MPI members and taking a very long time to authorize medical procedures in a timely manner my name is Sasa and I'm a former VP of production and I look she can't even say a name correctly it's Sasha not SAA you dumb B and also you're not Rogue for the off yeah how much did that hair cost that's what I want to know right like a VP of production Chris I mean different like editor is like kind of working man VP of production is like struggling middle person I can barely keep my hair uh I've seen it happen to friends of mine you know they're making 20 grand a week they're buying cars and doing crazy stuff and then they're not working for a year and they're back I I I have a a buddy of mine who's a comedian and he was like a recurring on the Kimmel show whenever they would do bits uh Tommy beckeld and he learned very early on he never quit his bartending jobs in between all of the shows he'll make a ton of money he lives beneath his me he's doing fine he's doing fine because he plans for it it's it's a difficult life to to um you know it's a difficult life to do that and I think a lot of these people they got comfortable they got comfortable and I I hope that they really reflect and look at like look at why we're here we're here be because the audience has walked away the audience did you get that impression though Chris because I sure as hell didn't I I don't get that impr but also they're not watching they're not watching us right they're not watching and only now only now nerd stradamus that would be Gary and uh critical Drinker are like kind of going mainstream I mean in a good way where the message is getting out the the message people need to hear not the message do you know what I'm saying like you your appearances on peers are very helpful like I feel like now there's normies are waking up to the fact that like wow people don't like this entertainment they're walking away and I just don't think that that's a thing that people know beyond the you know the the viewers here yeah you talk about Chris people CRA entertainment it's it's the it's the lesson I learned uh at the comic shop as has brought it up many people brought this up it's not my idea is the customer that walks away quietly that's the worst one because you don't know what you did wrong uh it's it's the one that tells you is is that that's and you need to listen but most people are just going to especially when the industry uh whether it's true or not it is uh perception is reality in this case Hollywood was telling a lot of people to off for a long time and they just did yeah they just did and now you're paying the price whether it uh you're an editor who had nothing to do with that or not uh your culture told your paying customers to off and they did yes comic is Comics is going through that too the American comic book industry through it they're done they're toast they're absolute toast because uh they got they did more than tell their customers to off so um yeah it it it didn't take rocket science to figure this out it's basic econ it's basic math which yeah cause and effect cause and effect and now you're in a decline that you're never going to get out of you're not going to be the most re you're not the most relevant industry you won't even be the third most relevant industry in a short in short order will we still get scripted entertainment sure sure yeah we'll still get movies but Alamo Draft House for sale which sucks I like the Alamo Draft House so the ones who do run older movies and older trailers and I who just came out and bitched about um them cering food uh uh D MC yeah that shut the up it's awesome it's a great experience popcorn is hate it I hate when people walk in with their food and I'm like I'm trying to watch a movie love it I think it's great I think he's full of I think if people are going I'm all for it I know because you need people to go and if it's if it's a a reason for people to go by the way I watched The Joker and I had no didn't with my experience at all getting my meal while I'm watching The Joker it was great a lot of meetups they do a lot of uh like old movies and and hangs and social things yeah they need to do that stuff because what they're putting on the screen isn't good uh so they have to start putting out older stuff uh I I wish they would put so much more in 4k and not just like the James Cameron way which is shitty but uh yeah they're going to have to start thinking of of a lot of new things while they lose market share to to gaming which they've been doing for said they were already doing they were bleeding for a long time sorry little but no I is worth reiterating that even if things were going really well like you are taking a risk it it is a risky Enterprise most people who go into say film writing jobs and I'm in a writer's room it's game writing but it's not you know it's kind of analogist like you go into this and you know that the the number of people who make it and become really really famous well-known household names to get attached to all the big products is incredibly small and the number of people you're competing with is massive because like writers don't have very many they're very high hurdle to clear to call yourself a writer you put you know pen on paper you can call yourself a writer um you're going into something which you know is insecure even in the best of times the chances if you're actually making it and making an name for yourself a small and even if you do it once you're going to have to keep doing it otherwise you're going to be out of a job people haven't just discovered this recently this has always been a thing and ideally you know that it's a risk you know the other people in the Riders around I'm in they know because I'm I'm lucky I've got a fullback of YouTube which is my main thing but you know some of the people in the Riders room don't have a fullback so they know it's a risk that they're taking but they are well aware it's a risk and they're thinking to themselves well I think that the reward Prospect is worth taking this risk right like and I have a fall back if I really need to I will go and work in a supermarket stacking shells for like a lower wage but a consistent one it's not impossible to find work after the fact but this this sort of entitlement mindset which is that I have a job in the industry once therefore it must be a job in the industry for life and it's the industry's fault if I don't have that just speaks a whole class of people coming out of probably out of University having been supported for their entire adult life even thinking no I am absolutely OD living in whatever I want to happen to do it's like no you actually do have to prove that you're worth something and keep proving it and if you can't do that then go stack shelves everyone needs a shelf stacker yeah true honest work if you could find it is honest work I don't think they want honest work so no they they don't and hard you go stack shells for five months uh uh versus doing nothing for five months I know which ones brings money in there's just no jobs available I just and if you're a writer if you more experience makes you a better writer in other things you know job there's just no job that they want to do because they think they're too good for it remember when we'll get to this video in just a second remember uh when right after covid there was uh bunch of people were hiring and they couldn't fill positions yeah because oh I that job's beneath me and now those jobs are gone now those jobs are gone and there there was a plenty of opportunities out there I saw now hiring signs everywhere uh but no everybody wanted to take their free government money that was printed uh and now your do the money that $20 an hour you're making isn't really $20 an hour so yeah yeah uh hey um lot of regret going on in Hollywood as while we're on the subject of regret uh apparently Dwayne The Rock Johnson who uh backed Biden uh in a really cringe video from uh four years ago uh rolled over you're right wow exposing his belly I wonder why are you happy that you made that indorsement 2020 are you happy with the state of America am I happy with the state of America right now well that answer is no do I believe we're going to get better I I believe in that I'm an optimistic guy and I I believe we can get better um the endorsement that I made uh years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time and I thought back then when we talk about hey you know I I'm in this position uh where I have some influence and it's my job then I felt like that then it's my job now to exercise my influence and share oh like Hawaii this is who I'm going to endorse yeah right am I going to do that again this year that answer is no are you you made that that answer is does this have anything to do maybe just maybe with the fact that when he made the endorsement he was working in Hollywood and you have to be a democrat in Hollywood and now he's back in wrestling where it maybe isn't as lucrative to be a Democrat so he's changed his mind does that I would say that he is gonna run for something well yeah I heard those rumors ages ago I don't know if he's still planning on doing that he'd be a perfect politician because his polit his policy is based on which way the wind is blowing and he has to pass it through a bunch of people to find out what his opinion is so he can use his influence off he sounded just like Bob Iger like that whole first half was like my answer is no on that now is very well uh hey he's got his glasses on everybody so he's really serious response really serious I'm smart not like everybody says I knew that reference Fredo who's gotta go Odin already left bye Odin bye OD the one time we gave him an out like he just did his Irish goodbye yeah his Catholic goodbye how you doing asz I'm great how are you I just checking on you that's all dude every presenters are dropping like flies I'm staying um Chrissy's bouncing uh yay the Chris uh I'm doing well unless there's some super chats that directly ask me a question I probably should bail i w I wasn't supposed to be here today not to quote clerks but um uh that's a quote from clerk wasn't even supposed to be here but no I'm happy I got invited I you know obviously we talk you know on the D and I feel I try to feed you stuff that I think is useful so um I'm just happy to be Black Guard 4 is gift to 10 nerd rtic memberships for 50 hail good members Thank You by thank you Kevin Willis on the streamlab side five parts for $75 holy oh wow it goes back okay so that's right when Star Trek Discovery started he's saying finding nerd rtic around 2017 was the best thing that ever happened me on YouTube I'm glad you said on YouTube because if that was the best thing that ever happened to you we're going to have to talk and led to me finding asz and Ripa and others I had already found mer and critical drinker but recently watching Gary has led me to disparu who was great by the way where is did he ever answer our message uh he was deep in a video okay so heed he probably watched Star Trek discovery that would be my guess but I could be wrong he loves bad shows yes he does uh but recently watching Gary's led me to dis brew and just found uh a few weeks ago little platoon ah excellent because that's a great channel uh dis Brew is brilliant but my Lord little little platoon has some of the longest bestest film criticism I've ever had the pleasure of listening to oh got a good voice too that's very kind oh it's just the voice it's it's it's one just big confidence trick really yeah exactly right hey whatever works uh anyone who hasn't subscribed to platoon should and set aside a few hundred hours to go through all of his critiques little platoon is just uh is it just me or did your rings of power review number uh or did I miss your rings of power review number three oh no I still need to finish that and my rule I'm trying to finish it before season 2 comes out so I would at some point get around to finishing the rest of rings of power season 1 before season yeah based on what I've heard you have time good you have right as there's a there's a lot of time before rings of power season two comes out certainly appears that way I'll put it in the I'll put it in the private chat in just a second little platoon uh or is it coming I will never watch a minute of the actual show but I don't want to miss a second of the destruction of it godess bless your heroism in these dark times already donated on streamlabs but I really want to make sure I get to ask little platoon if there's another rings of power review coming which he answered so thank you so I'll write this in there uh as correct me if I'm wrong on this by the way uh it oh I almost said it out loud that would be really typing and talking is too hard I almost said it out loud hell okay wow iard last I heard which is about three or four weeks ago yeah so that rumor of the the summer release alongside uh House of the Dragon is is probably not going to happen press an X to out press an X to out on that big X on that I mean possibility Christmas that would be the earliest just knowing what I know about that thing I almost just said um I just need to shut up right now yeah just I'm like I'm like quarter black with a Henry caval spoiler let me put it in the private chat Henry cavl yeah and then you go short arms and everybody guesses it I thought it was subtle and well it was and then scoopers are now taking credit for your work which is you know you should be mad about them dang it Hy just take it with a pinch yourself Bud yeah that's right Black Guard 4 for $50 with the imminent release of the game Stell blade I hope that x-ray girl Chrissy Mayer and all the women of the nerd rodic fandom are safe from the effects and talents of the main character thoughts and prayers to you all ah I've already I've already been hat with that I I I found the skin suit skin suit very um skin skin Stellar blade see it yes ah yeah is that gonna get his head your face no no I think it's cuz I saw the monster I'm like it looks like a woman's you know butle the graphics are really good Vine v can you not say vagina vag are we going to get are we going to get hit for this like no you won't and my video won't wasn't hit so yours won't get hit well okay people getting hit for playing the game no skin I don't know well Gary's just worried skin just means skin colored I got a little PTSD from last week okay that that's fair that's fair by the way if you haven't seen last week's episode it's on uh X it's on Rumble it's on Odyssey I think it's on nerdrotic did you uh embed it from rumble on nerd rtic.com okay did you figure out what precisely it was hit for or just a m of many things so uh like a shotgun blast the woman the woman sucking on the black dildo in the intro but it wouldn't have been just that according to my rep it was many things later in the show if it was a flesh color dildo that would have been better it was funny my R was laughing my rep was like I'm like I'm not going to fight this I mean it's okay so oh man that's funny at least you found out yeah yeah oh you um what they won't tell you you know this is why it it helps to be nice to people and even if they work for organizations you don't like if you're nice to people and genuine with them they'll be honest with you it's crazy F it's like don't be Ryan when you're going to a fast food place your your order will always be up people will piss and spit in your food be nice to the person behind the counter they're working hard to do their best to get their meal for you and you know what you might get a little extra or you might just get what you ordered right uh be nice so I'm nice to my rep my rep is pretty cool and yeah he tells like uh when when a video gets demonetized YouTube has the ability to tell you exactly what was demonetized and you could if you knew that cut it out before your review right and then your review will come up fine they just don't want to tell they want to keep it vague uh now the reason they want to keep it vague is because you're being demonetized by stuff that doesn't break any Advertiser guidelines at all they're just arbitr well it's what we always thought they're demonetizing you for certain politics but the other stuff is fine that makes a lot of sense for example that black woman sucking on a black dildo there's dildos and butt plugs all over YouTube that shit's monetized yep so there you go well people expain their I'm about to shock you but uh it's not a fair system yeah yeah fig it's not a fair system uh how am I supposed to say this name arar ar ar oh it's ARA AR I got it um hey uh for $49.99 nice hail the fellowship what are some of your all favorite ' 80s 90s uh crazy on liners one of my top 10 is score Scorpio is [Music] ready uh 80s 90s one liners we'd all have to think about that I'll be back mostly just lines in The it's like it's like I told my last wife never drive faster than you can see it's we line what killed the dinosaurs the ice oh life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get feel the rhythm feel the yeah uh Cool Runnings something it's bed [Laughter] time could you make Cool Runnings now the out of here yeah well no cuz John Candy pass away they'd have to be all white I like the I'll never forget s true story though from Beverly Hills go it's not sexy it's an it's not sexy they're like animals yeah an it's not get the out of here no get the out of here yeah so good uh raed by's got one of the best movies greatest movies ever made uh you know what as I I think 48 hours is just as good it's Walter Hill it's an actual Crime Story it's great uh Raised by Wolves for 50 James RAR is badass in 448 hours he's really good a good villain uh Hey lfnt if you could choose a movie to remake that actually could have been better what would it be my picks Leviathan uh great cast with the premise but not well executed Hail to the fellowship H so a good concept but you're like we're we're talking in dream world not now because right remaking something um I'm not going to say movie I'm and it's already been remade but not in the way it was originally conceived Battlestar Galactica Battlestar Galactica the OG series remade with it has it has great lore great L yeah and I would make it to the specifics of the original one aliens 3 like to see an actual good aliens where where H and do not die yeah yeah that would have been a good one mhm the notebook notebook to we need the notebook to Schindler's List to it's shling out of the [Laughter] oven God oh no almost made it almost there almost there m Reddit Twitter she's pregnant she she doesn't know what she horon it's hormones going all over the place RIT Twitter demonetization almost there I've got you now Je when's that baby coming out two weeks from today hey so we could do it live on Friday night heghts I realized it's well it's not from tardo it's a yellow highlighted thing in parentheses says read in tardo voice it's great uh the fjc uh Sensei for 50 Canadian pesos Hal fnt and halil Chris Gore who left see you in Vegas I recently learned of Chris's involvement in tips and tricks oh what uhoh uh it was my jam back in the late 90s and early 2000s I couldn't wait to pick it up especially as an armored Core fan the ending hardcore section was amazing Chris is involved in a lot of stuff most of its legal most most he were he like he knew Larry Flint he's got good Larry Flint stories yes wow yeah uh Ronin the Crusader uh this is uh What's the total on this one you didn't do the math for me again I did it's five parts 100 total oh wait no you did I scrolled down too far sorry I apologize okay you're not fired uh Ronin the Crusader five parts for $100 hey lfnt if you don't mind me sharing some thoughts saw Godzilla X Kong yesterday and as a Godzilla fan since I was five it was another crazy ass fun entry in the monsterverse that's as good as eating a gourmet burger at your favorite sports bar I understand that minus one is still uh fresh on everyone's mind so the bar is being set High by many critics and non-fans but if every Godzilla movie was just a repeat of that or the 1954 film it eventually would stagnate he sounds like a really lovely guy but I always set the bar on the floor for every new film and Godzilla X Kong does not get above like cave level so I will Polly disagree with that assessment there's no limboing under that bar how low can you go uh yeah there's only so many times you could tell the same story in a a restricted manner before audiences get tired Godzilla has the capacity of both commentary on the horrors of nuclear destruction and balls to thewall action fun there's only so many s you could tell the same is that that's the same one in there twice okay oh whoopsies now you're fired now I'm fired there you go so waiting for it so is it four of four or is it no no it is I just copied the wrong one there we go and and as a fan the love coming from the East and the West just fills me with so much excitement seeing how impactful a character the king is I'm not trying to convince anyone with my statements I'm just expressing the passion I feel for Godzilla and why I try putting the two films against the other is like comparing apples and oranges H regardless I still respect the hell out of you all you guys do and can say and agree and disagree yes we can hell to the fellowship and long live the king enjoy the hell out of it but it's comparing like a really fresh Apple to like uh a rotten apple I'll be nice a rotten one that's been sitting out in the street in 100° weather for a week having passed through a dog previously yeah and especially with Godzilla minus one coming out with such a lower budget and you compare it the two films it's like night and day I think listen the idea of let's do more monsters and less people good I like that idea quite a bit um girls the key to everything yeah she the girl yeah just she can feel it but I mean as a as a as a basically a Saturday morning cartoon if you enjoy it fine that's fine but um there's a like I said there's like platoon will probably hate me for this uh there's Zack Snider movies I like I will never argue they're good I will never argue they're good films I just enjoy watching them as just like junk food that's I still like the Star Wars prequels and they're pretty crap but I really like them yeah so I I would consider 300 to be a good film that's very I like 300 I like Watchmen and I like the SNY cut it's the SNY cut is like the it's thead it's like Don the Dead's really good SN cut is like eating it punch anybody you know like you eat at Wendy's when you're on the road and it's literally the only restaurant you can go to not Wendy's I did oh yeah they're they're trash it's it's trash it's trash my favorite trash trash you like Wendy's of all places Wendy's they have Wendy up there really good for keto like I usually order like have you been in- and out have you been to In-N-Out Burger uh once okay overrated no it's not well okay for fast food it's better than Water Burger it's better than Culver's I haven't been to waterb bro bro wild that's wild bro you want a real butterburger go to Wisconsin and get one and then then tell me about Texas tell me about your Culver no I know you live in Texas but you know what we're going to go do a meet up go up there it's we're going to go up there so you're going to go up there with me we're going to do a burger tour I love us I totally do that does sound good though yeah you go to you go to Shan Wisconsin and have a real butter burger and then tell me about your Culver okay Wisconsin from Wisconsin so what it's still fast food and like it's not bad I'm not saying it sucks but it's just better than in- and out no it's not yeah it is no it's not you're high probably it's better than wbg Culver's is better than WG B water bur's got some good stuff yes they do yeah water B's all right fries trash sloppy yeah they go a little too crazy with the sauces and stuff but uh Flying Saucer flying little restaurant here in town they have Burgers good Burgers man they had a they had a a royala cheese so they they took it off the menu but you like I what we're killing as are we killing as you can't have hamburgers yes you can it's get just no no bun you just have the the Patty so high in there superat so I can get out of here oh oh I'm going to remember this you know what I will file I just started a poll about which is the best burger so y'all in the chat can tell us Robo 96 for 50 British pounds so we all have to hurry for as I'm sorry I'm sorry that my wanting to finish on time is inter interfering with your burger talk dude we are so on time dude I should have left 51 minutes ago but you didn't so decision's already made your choice as you asked take accountability as no good deed goes unpunished in my opinion you can have a female Silver Surfer if you uh if they look authentic and chiseled or a black Juliet if if they look beautiful and describable you can have them but it's stupid okay the female Silver Surfer argument you can have one later nobody's saying you can't have one later you are introducing the Fantastic 4 with the the female Silver Surfer which is as dumb as introducing Reed Richards and Doctor Strange and blowing his head up yes so nobody's arguing you like for one it's it's really dumb especially when when you're the that the Disney has the reputation of the MCU the forest female in the MCU that is a reputation they have earned they have earned and they go out and like just make it a dude the bring us nor and rad now do you want to cast a black actor as norin rad don't care don't care at all but make it norin rad well no because you you'd have to hire a silver actor well okay exactly because it needs to be authentic a person of silver a person of silver all right theor yes uh or a black Juliet a black J they it's been done in plays and stuff Clifton Duncan has a great tweet on it I'm fine with that that doesn't bother me I mean I I think Tom Holland is gonna make a great Juliet by the way um but modern uh producers love to cast the most inappropriate looking actors to piss people off and because uh cost the most controversy there is something to that effect I think they are doing that to Fan the Flames effect they are gaslighting and and I've had people admit as much to me uh that the particularly with um rings of power their intention was to gasl Gaslight they did want why um because they knew their casting choice they knew their casting choices would be bad uh the show had tested poorly and they thought that create that this is the thinking with the marketing companies with stuff that tests poorly if you create controversy something can become a movement because they're trying to replicate the black pan actually try and do something good they're trying to replicate they're trying to replicate the back P black panther uh marketing Hollywood is a it's a town of copiers they copy even though like it worked once and it hasn't worked since we're still going to copy it because it might work again I got great idea copy Talent how about you do that instead Hollywood uh they enough you can't you can't copy Talent you born with it or you don't have it really I know it's huge amounts of free publicity as well like the more Scandal you can draw up the more free publicity you get from a very friendly media and the more people are then aware that your show is coming out it's like where all of the the racism stories around Reaver and Obi-Wan are basically just to get free advertisements in in poppular media that's kind of it yes that was that was the one that was so obvious it was it was was a marketing campaign yeah uh JM has gifted 50 neurotic memberships for $250 hey man wow thank you wow Nate the Great has just donated $100 and said nothing walks out like a Chad his name is Nate thank you Mike steel for 50 Gary I'm worried that there's an issue with my f&t Vegas reservation I DMD you on X oh mean they had to because that was probably one of the top five most things I've ever seen the access media do it was pretty stupid but then the IG France editor IGN France editor and chief said the game would cause women to self harm because they could not live up to the me how to the men's idolized standard people are just crazy hope you ladies will be okay that that's a really take especially coming from France yeah yeah right that's that sounds like something I'd hear from you guys have titties on forget France it came from IGN first and foremost and that's that's hi IGN attractive women do exist okay uh yeah why do you hate attractive women IGN yeah because they want everyone to be zipper TI squeeze tits will cause women's self har everyone's got tell what I'll be definitely abusing myself to them I was GNA say it's GNA cause as more self harm than anything else hey you know it's obvious but a still good sometimes yeah faing you know you got to pick the lwh hanging fruit one in a
